This episode of Lights Out, called "Knock at the Door", by Arch Oboler, was originally titled "The Mother-In-Law". An overbearing mother is murdered by her son's girlfriend, but the mother's ghost keeps haunting whenever her son is at home.  She knocks at the basement door, the location of her demise!
