A veteran hospitality operator and entrepreneur, Kevin Cox has opened more than seventy restaurants within the urban and suburban markets of New York, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.
After a short stint in commercial real estate, Kevin found his home in the hospitality industry with Umami Burger. In less than three years, Kevin wore many hats as Umami grew into one of the most popular restaurant groups in Southern California with ten locations, as well as launching; LA’s first nouveau “Food Hall” Umamicatessen, multiple CPG SKUs under the Umami brand, 800 Degrees Pizza (now a nationwide chain), and the infamous Red Medicine in Beverly Hills. Invigorated by the opportunity to recreate Umami’s success, Kevin partnered with The Clarke’s Group in NYC, to expand the footprint of their flagship brand PJ Clarke’s and launch a QSR off-shoot. He led the acquisition and repositioning of the Goodburger chain into Clarke’s Standard.
In recent years, Kevin has focused on his consulting business 310hospitality, working with a robust roster of clients both regionally and nationally, including Brother Jimmy’s BBQ Group, Plan Check Restaurants, The Wine Bar Group, and Atlantic Stars Hospitality. With Montclair Hospitality Group, he led the development and acquisitions of numerous brands: pastaRAMEN, Kai Yang, Mochinut, a multi-unit partnership with Sushi by Bou, and eight Ani Ramen locations in the Tri-State. Currently, Kevin is heading the roll-out and expansion of an institutionally-backed hospitality group out of Europe.
Kevin is originally from Wilbraham, Massachusetts. He has a bachelor’s degree from Hobart College where he majored in economics and played defense for the lacrosse team. He currently resides in Manhattan.
