Finland is known for its picturesque views; the colourful glow of the Northern Lights and, of course, for Lapland; the home of Santa Claus. It’s also famous for being deemed as one of the happiest countries in the world. But, the beautiful Nordic country is not without its fair share of dark and depraved crime. In today’s episode of Cold Case Detective, we’re going to look at two of Finland’s most notorious unsolved crimes.

Alexis Patterson, often referred to as “Lexi” or “Pie” by friends and family, was a boundless ball of positive energy yet well-mannered young girl from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Her innocent social skills and matured sense of leadership, however, were cut short by an unsolved disappearance in the spring of 2002, leaving all who knew her in her family home on 49th Street and the entirety of her Washington Heights neighbourhood, Washington at large grasping for answers in a sea of mysteries that drowned us all in doubt…
