A new proposal for a college football “super league” has been reported by Andrew Marchand and Stewart Mandel of The Athletic. The proposal would essentially take the NCAA out of major college football and create eight divisions of ten teams, with one of those divisions composed of rotating members who are promoted and relegated. Where the proposal makes the most sense is that it would create one entity for negotiations with a prospective union that would represent the players on NIL, transfers and salary structure. This entity could thus avoid the anti-trust problems that the NCAA has run into as of late.
