The knock on Penn State football coach James Franklin is that he wins a lot of college football games but he does not win the big ones!  It happened again this year despite Michigan missing from the schedule.  Penn State still lost to Ohio State and Oregon, but finished with a great 11-2 record.  Still they did not win the big ones.

Now they are one of four Big Ten teams in the college football playoffs and will face SMU Saturday.  They are all big one's from here on out as the Nittany Lions will try to win a college football national championship.

Indiana football and their AP coach of the year Curt Cignetti will stake their place among football royalty and head to chilly South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in their college football playoff opener Friday night.

Saturday night the Tennessee Volunteers roll into Columbus to face Ryan Day and an Ohio State Buckeyes football team under all sorts of pressure coming off of a loss to arch rival Michigan.

Will the Ohio State Buckeyes home field advantage be a disadvantage vs the Tennessee Vols in their college football playoff matchup Saturday night?  Former Buckeyes player and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit suggested as much during the College Football Playoff Selection Show and we have given that some thought.

Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel is one of four finalists to win the Heisman Trophy Saturday.  The award goes to the most outstanding player in college football.  We are not sure he is the top pick but he did lead the Oregon football program to an undefeated season, a number one ranking, a Big Ten football championship and a bye week for the college football playoffs.  That has got to count for something.

We also take a deep dive into the 2025 Big Ten football schedule released this week.  We do not know yet if there will be a Big Ten championship rematch between Penn State and Oregon in the college football playoffs.  But there will be a rematch in the 2025 Big Ten football season.

Will Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola leave Matt Rhule and the Huskers high and dry and hit the transfer portal?  Yikes!  Huskers fans hope not.  We will decipher between what is real and what is not.  Plus, Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule is doing EVERYTHING in his power to make sure he does not lose his ace QB!

A second Michigan Wolverines player declared for the NFL Draft in as many days.  We will tell you who.

Regarding the transfer portal former USC quarterback Miller Moss is looking around.  Now there are questions about Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer.

Oh, and an Ohio lawmaker who did not like Michigan planting a flag at the 50 yard line following the Buckeyes loss to TTUN and wants to make such an act a felony!  Yeah, good luck with that!
