The pitch was: 'hey, I wonder what the old Denver Nuggets play-by-play was thinking from the Colorado Rockies booth when his old team won their first NBA title?'

Our conversation went way beyond that, however, and for good reason. Jerry Schemmel has done a lot. In addition to broadcasting, he's also biked across America a few times (won the RAAM two-person event in 2015), written a book, survived a plane crash, and earned a law degree.
