The Denver Broncos started fast and led 21-3 after their first 3 drives and it looked bleak for the Commanders.  However, Washington came back to outscore Denver 32-3 and midway through the 4th quarter led 35-24.

Denver desperately tried to get back in the game by scoring 9 straight points. A Hail Mary as time expired got Denver within 2 but Washington stopped the Broncos on a 2 point attempt with no time left to win in Denver for the first time since 2001.
