Gran Colombia Gold is a Canadian-based mid-tier gold producer with its primary focus in Colombia where it is currently the largest underground gold and silver producer with several mines in operation at its high-grade Segovia Operations. 

Since we last spoke to Gran Colombia two years ago, they have been busy in several areas. Gran Colombia is now producing gold and their guidance for this year is 200-220,000 oz and they are well on track to meet that target.

The company has brought costs down and is now paying dividends at 3% a year. They have also managed to reduce their debt down from $90M to $19M and by the end of the year they aim to have zero debt. 

Gran Colombia owns approximately 44% of Aris Gold Corporation, a Canadian mining company currently advancing a major expansion and modernization of its underground mining operations at its Marmato Project in Colombia. 

Gran Colombia took the Marmato mine and raised $300M to finance the operation which is now in the hands of a management team. This project is an investment for the company and will continue to create value for the shareholders. 

Gran Colombia’s project pipeline also includes an approximately 18% equity interest in Gold X Mining Corp., an approximately 36% equity interest in Denarius Silver Corp. and an approximately 26% equity interest in Western Atlas Resources Inc. 

Gran Colombia has come a long way in two years and has grown considerably with the share price reaching highs of $8 per share in comparison to $1.75 per share of two years ago.

Rupert Resources is located at the epicentre of a new gold district targeting multi-million ounce gold discoveries in close proximity to a 100% owned permitted mine and mill in Northern Finland at the Pahtavaara project.

The Pahtavaara mine was bought back in 2016 by Rupert Resources and since then the company has been looking for new discoveries outside the mine area. Rupert Resources undertook a comprehensive review of historical data resulting in a new geological model showing the Pahtavaara Project to lie in a domain hosting the confluence of regional scale faults that likely link to crustal scale fracture meshes. Several orders of faulting are represented, which are necessary for crustal scale fluid flow and focusing that can result in deposit formation. 

The Ikkari discovery is just over a year old and has attracted a lot of attention from the market following some excellent drill results. Rupert Resources continue to demonstrate the potential at Ikkari with the planned maiden resource due to be released in August this year. The share price has increased 5 to 6 times during the last 12-14 months so the company and the shareholders are very pleased but Rupert Resources now need to continue to demonstrate why they have an exceptional opportunity with high value assets.

Rupert Resources is well funded to continue to work on the Ikkari project which will move forwards quickly to its maiden resource and towards the PEA. Exploration will also continue alongside the Ikkari project to generate new information to provide the market with evidence of further resources beyond the Ikkari discovery.

Ethos Gold has a portfolio of properties with a fantastic team ready to make a discovery. The company has 11 projects in several parts of Canada: BC, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and needs to prioritise their projects to decide which to take forward to the next stage.

Ethos Gold has decided to prioritise Perk Rocky as it is their most advanced project being drill ready. They also have access to capital and timing is good for accessibility and seasonality at Perk Rocky. The company has owned Perk Rocky since 2019 and has done a lot of work on the project which looks to be the most prospective.

Ethos Gold has over $5M in cash and plans to spend $1M on a 2000m drill programme at Perk Rocky and if there is initial success then the programme would be increased to a 10,000m+ drill programme.

Perk Rocky has potential for a large bulk tonnage porphyry Cu-Au deposit. Copper-gold discoveries have been made over an 8 km x 5 km area. The deposit is road accessible, under-explored and has never been drilled. There is also potential for high-grade, vein hosted gold mineralization on the periphery of the porphyry target areas. 

In the next few months, Ethos Gold will be advancing each one of their projects but specifically there will be lots of news flow from the Perk Rocky project as the drilling gets underway there. There will also be news on the advancement of their Newfoundland project and their Quebec project too.

Ion Energy is Mongolia’s first Lithium Brine explorer and developer and is focused on exploring the Lithium salars in the country. Ion Energy currently holds about 110ha of highly prospective Lithium Brine licenses in Mongolia and has the largest land package ever granted in the country which is Baavhai Uul and is the flagship project for Ion Energy. 

Ion Energy is keen to become a significant player in Asia’s booming Lithium market and exploration efforts are now underway on their assets which are highly prospective showing high grades, with the max at 811 ppm.

Ion Energy has raised $5.75M and has warrants to enable them to double their exploration which has just commenced with 21 holes across their 2 licences. The 110ha exploration area is very large so Ion Energy needed to be calculated with respect to the exact location of drill holes which have been determined by a micro-seismic programme in addition to geophysics.

Ion Energy has enough money to fund their 2 year exploration programme and also to enable them to look at additional acquisition targets in the country.  

Ion Energy is the first company to drill for Lithium in Mongolia but Lithium salar drilling is very similar to drilling for oil and gas which is prevalent in Mongolia.

Tombill Mines is involved in mineral exploration, primarily gold and has 74 royalty-free claims; of which 60 are owned and patented. Tombill Mines owns various mineral exploration and past-producing gold mines and claims in the Geraldton Camp and Beardmore region, Ontario. Tombill Mines went public in mid December 2020 which raised $6.5M.

The Geraldton Gold Camp is about 275km north on the TransCanada highway from Thunder Bay which is a great setting for a mining company with existing infrastructure, a highway town with 4000 people and an airport. The camp is accessible year-round via the TransCanada Highway, which splits the Tombill Main Group property in two.

Tombill was founded in 1935 by Tom and Bill Johnson with backing from Newmont. Tombill had two past mines in production which yielded 3Moz gold between the 1930s-60s. The subsequent gold price in the 1960s did not facilitate further mine expansion at that time.

In 2008 the neighbour to Tombill who was at the time Premier Gold created the Greenstone property with their prime asset the Hard Rock resource which is directly adjacent to the Tombill site. From 2008-16 the company carried out a lot of drilling and resource work and proved a 6M oz resource at Hard Rock of which 50% was bought by Centerra in 2016 for approximately $200M plus a commitment of $200M for further work. The Hard Rock resource is now an 11.5Moz resource and in December 2020 was sold to Equinox and Orion who are now moving the resource towards a full mining operation.

Tombill has been owned by the family for 40 years and now as a consequence of the Hard Rock success, Tombill are moving forward and have assembled a very experienced technical team to progress the resource further. The majority of surface exploration at Tombill Mines was conducted in the 1930s and 1940s and the last diamond drill-hole until recently was conducted in 1950.

Tombill Mines has commenced an exploration program in Q1/2021, including diamond drilling, non-drilling geological support, and surface exploration. They have drilled 7000m to date with plans to drill up to 16000m. They have seen some very promising numbers and are expecting drill results back very shortly which will be published as news releases from the company as soon as possible.

Conico is an Australia-based mineral exploration company. The Company focuses on cobalt, nickel, and manganese deposits. They have deposits in Greenland and Australia.

Ryberg, their flagship project in Greenland, is a multi-element project spanning across a 4,500 km2 area on the east coast of Greenland, 430km NW of Iceland. The area consists of two granted mineral exploration licenses and contains surface samples grading up to 2.2% Cu, 0.8% Ni, 0.1% Co, 3.3g/t Pd & 0.2g/t Au.

While Mestersvig, also in Greenland, is located on the east coast of Greenland and only 5km from the Mestersvig military base. The license area contains the historic Blyklippen Mine that produced 545,000 tonnes of ore @ 9.9% Zn & 9.3% Pb.

The Company holds an interest in the Mt Thirsty Cobalt-Nickel oxide deposit located approximately 20km northwest of Norseman in Western Australia. Along with cobalt-nickel oxide deposit, the Mt Thirsty project also hosts nickel sulfide mineralization
