Exercise, Nutrition, and Cognition

Exercise has been shown to increase BDNF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor.  BDNF is a protein that supports the survival, growth, and differentiation of neurons. It is essential for neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to adapt and reorganize itself by forming new neural connections.  BDNF is heavily involved in memory formation and learning.
