Knowing how to set healthy boundaries takes practice. There are three steps to boundaries. Choose your boundary based on how you want issues to be different in the future. Communicate the boundary with people involved (and potentially, the consequence of the boundary being violated). Step three is enforcing that boundary and whatever consequence you shared before. Think of it in terms of a "No Trespassing" sign. People are more likely to obey signs that show the consequence, boundaries are the same way. If you hate the way your skin looks and just want to feel okay leaving the house without makeup, you MUST listen to this conversation.
Stay sane during the coronavirus self quarantine by remembering you've been through uncertain times before. Confident women are calm during chaos and crisis - but it's necessary to have a place to rest and be vulnerable. This is why having a Safe Harbor is essential. Welcome to the first sign of the Zodiac Series! March 21 - April 15 is Aries. Your personality tendencies have a huge impact on how confidence and insecurity show up for you. So I'm breaking down each Zodiac type and showing examples of what insecurity and confidence will look like for that sign. Just like with Myers Briggs or the enneagram, these aren't always 100% accurate - but this helps you know more about someone even if they've never taken one of those assessments! Do you beat yourself up for not making necessary changes soon enough? I've felt that. No matter how long you stayed somewhere you "shouldn't have" you still made the courageous decision to make a change. Change is one of the hardest things for people to do! In this episode, I'm offering some encouragement and perspective on making changes and the two ways people respond to it.
How do you speak with confidence? Let me tell you. This episode has some gems from my college days as a speech kid winning multiple state championships and (in my book) tying for 2nd place in the nation in persuasive speaking. The ability to articulate your thoughts and opinions is a vital tool in your confidence belt. These tips will help you become better, no matter what level you're currently at.
Relationships are great, but getting the confidence to stay true to your standards? That's a gift - my friend. I'm joined by Jessica Hottle for this conversation about dating, sex, relationships, confidence....how to really know who you're dating and how to hold onto your standards (even when he's nice) We are all designed for relationships, so it definitely gets lonely when you're single. But I'm opening up about why I broke off my engagement to encourage you and show you that it's worth being single for as long as it takes to make sure you're not stuck with someone who doesn't love you well.
Whew! Have you thought long and hard about why you're insecure about what you're insecure about? There are women half way around the world feeling insecure about completely different things...why? Because nearly everything we believe is a result of cultural conditioning. When you grow up in a patriarchal culture, misogyny can play a role in how you view yourself and other women. In this episode, I'm breaking down where your worth comes from and how that's tied to your self-worth.
