So de-tune your guitars, turn your hats backward, put up an ad at Guitar Center that says “Rap-rock band looking for DJ to fill out our sound,” and find something to break! A soundtrack of Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Korn, and even Rage Against the Machine (do they count??) dots the landscape of a surprisingly astute and sociology-heavy case made by my guests Matt MacDonald (The Classic Crime) and James Wightman (also kind of The Classic Crime) that, indeed, nu metal has inherent value.
