Rick Joyner exhorts believers to steer away from the dangers of shipwreck. Sharing from personal lessons and real-life experiences, Rick gives us warnings from Scripture to take note of in order to avoid shipwreck in our lives, ministry and businesses.

Our picture of who God is has swung from one extreme end of the pendulum to the other. Decades ago, many churches painted a picture of a God who was always angry, but today, He has been reduced to a Being who is benevolent, domesticated, and tame. The Bible reveals to us a God who is a consuming fire. He is not ‘safe’ and neither is He tame. If you desire to truly honour and worship God, you must have an accurate picture of who He is.

On this National Day weekend, it's appropriate for us to consider the prototype nation of Israel in the Old Testament. The Jewish people came out of slavery in Egypt as a motley crew of people. They had no trained army, no public administrators, no institutions of learning, no legal framework, no currency and most importantly, no land to inhabit. No other nation in the history of mankind, except for Israel, was constituted before they possessed any land. Yet in over 400 years, they became the foremost nation in the Middle East during the days of King Solomon. The constructs and blueprint that God gave to the Jewish people for building a nation remain viable and relevant in our days. These same principles should guide us on how to pray for our nation so that we may continue to prosper and flourish.

The God we serve is a Covenant God. All through the Bible, we see Him making covenants, not contracts, with people. One of the most significant covenants He made in the Old Testament was with the Children of Israel – sealed by the obedient act of circumcision. Without which, the Israelites could not inherit the full promises of God and neither could they please Him. The principle of spiritual circumcision remains a powerful one in our day and applies to every believer who seeks to progress towards perfection in their walk with God. It is voluntary and something which we must decide to let the Spirit of God do in our hearts.
