Remember back in 2011 the Commonwealth banned live exports, destroying some producer's livelihoods? The Federal Court has deliberated for 18 months and on Tuesday finally ruled this ban was unlawful and that producers were "entitled to substantial damages". Producers in the 300-strong class action are seeking $600 million for lost income.
