Welcome back to Courtroom Confidential with Joshua Ritter! This week, I share my insights on some of this week’s updates in the true crime world, including:
- As the high-octane defense team of Shanna Gardner, accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband, Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan, claims the prosecution is lying to keep her locked up.
- Alleged suitcase killer Sarah Boone announces a change in strategy that leaves the judge stunned. At a recent hearing, her new attorney James Owens told the judge they will be claiming self-defense in conjunction with the battered spouse defense.
Additionally, I briefly cover other cases that made headlines this week, including a life sentence for 15-year-old Carly Gregg, developments in the Young Dolph murder trial, Toby Madden’s courtroom breakdown before the start of his murder trial, and the latest hearing for Kouri Richins who is awaiting trial for the death of her husband. Plus, I give a quick rundown of what’s on the docket for next week.

Welcome back to Courtroom Confidential with Joshua Ritter! This week, I share my insights on some of this week’s updates in the true crime world, including:
- While 900 potential jurors waited outside for the chance to serve on the long-awaited trial of Florida matriarch Donna Adelson, inside the proceedings had descended into chaos. Before the day was over, her lead attorney Dan Rashbaum had withdrawn from the case, the judge was livid, and the defendant was in tears.
- Hip-hop icon turned music industry mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by federal authorities and charged with crimes tracking back decades that could place the once-powerful founder of Bad Boy Records behind bars for the rest of his life.
- Shocking video shows Mississippi teen Carly Gregg calmly conceal a gun before shooting her mother in cold blood and then attempt to lure her step-father home to meet the same violent end. Gregg is currently on trial, with closing arguments expected to take place this week.
Additionally, I briefly cover other cases that made headlines this week, including a new prosecutor in the Karen Read retrial taking place next year, Florida woman Laurie Shaver found guilty of murdering her husband, juror misconduct claims in the case of Ashley Benefield, and new sketches released of Gilgo beach murder victim known as “Asian Doe.” Plus, I give a quick rundown of what’s on the docket for next week.

Welcome back to Courtroom Confidential with Joshua Ritter! This week, I share my insights on some of this week’s updates in the true crime world, including:
- Donna Adelson, once the matriarch of a prominent Florida family, is set to face trial on September 17th for her alleged role in the decade-long saga of FSU law professor Dan Markel’s murder. As the latest in a series of defendants to stand trial for the 2014 murder, her trial will likely be pivotal in this case.
- Bryan Kohberger, charged with the horrific stabbing deaths of four Idaho college students, will now face trial 300 miles away from where the crimes took place. After defense attorneys argued that intense media coverage tainted the small community of Moscow, Judge John Judge granted their request to move the trial.
Additionally, I briefly cover other cases that made headlines this week, including a life sentence for former TikTok star Ali “JinnKid” Abulaban, Colorado dentist James Craig back in court to face charges of trying to cover up the alleged murder of his wife, and new charges against former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Plus, I give a quick rundown of what’s on the docket for next week.

Welcome back to Courtroom Confidential with Joshua Ritter! This week, I share my insights on some of this week’s updates in the true crime world, including:
- The murder trial of Vegas politician Robert Telles turned from the bizarre to the surreal as the defendant took the stand in his own defense to testify in a rarely seen narrative form.
- Documents filed last week argue that family matriarch Donna Adelson should have her case dismissed because the prosecution took too much time to bring charges against her for her role in the murder of Florida State University law professor Dan Markel.
Additionally, I briefly cover other cases that made headlines this week, including a death sentence for Tennessee man Sean Finnegan, five arrests in connection to the death of actor Matthew Perry, disgraced lawyer Alex Murdaugh’s appeal over a claim of jury tampering, and a life sentence for Christine Ricci, the Boston woman convicted in husband’s stabbing death. Plus, I give a quick rundown of what’s on the docket for next week.
