What is synchronicity and how does it show up in our lives? This week my guest is Etan Ilfeld, the creator of The Synchronicity Oracle Deck. Etan and I have a lively & fun discussion about really understanding what synchronicity is and how we can use it to our advantage to tap into our unconscious mind. We touch on why it can be so hard for us to tune in and what gets in the way of us hearing our inner most desires.

Apple PodcastsAndroidRSSEtan and I also talk about how to use synchronicity and symbols in our own lives to guide us, the right and better way to ask questions of the oracle and we even touch on physics and time travel! We had a lot of fun with this episode and Etan even does a live reading for me which really demonstrates the power of using the Synchronicity Oracle deck to tell a story. If you’ve ever worked with or been interested in oracle decks (or even if you haven’t) you will love this episode!
More about Etan Ilfield: Etan Ilfeld is the author of Duchamp Versus Einstein and Beyond Contemporary Art, and the creator of the Synchronicity Oracle. He holds a physics degree from Stanford University, is a US chess master and the owner of Watkins Books, London’s oldest Mind Body and Spirit bookshop. He also hosts the Etan Ilfeld Podcast. Inventions are one of the most exciting examples of creating what you speak. Taking an idea that started as a thought form and going through the process to bring that idea to life is an amazing example of the power of directing our thoughts! On this episode, my guest is Christine Brown, founder of the Kind Cup. The Kind Cup is a menstrual cup, and if you are not familiar with what that is, we get into that on the show!
Christine shares her experience of having an idea that just wouldn’t stop tugging at her, going through the process of bringing the idea to life and what that experience was like. Christine has some great advice for anyone who has an idea and isn’t quite sure what to do with it (hint: go for it!). As a fellow inventor, this conversation with Christine was so fun and also a great reminder of how we all have something pulling at us and that you only get one life, so why not go after it!

More About Christine: Kind Cup designer and founder Christine Brown launched the company with a vision of creating a menstrual cup that sets a new standard for quality, sustainability, and accessibility. Christine was driven to design and develop a form-fitting cup to better fit the natural curves of our bodies and movements. Christine’s design has dramatically improved the menstrual cup by making it ergonomically correct, more trusted, and comfortable. The Kind Cup also makes periods more green and sustainable, not to mention affordable, for all people.
An institutional design specialist and lifelong design hobbyist, Christine is passionate about optimizing the world for inclusivity as a queer, hard-of-hearing, and non-binary individual. They started Kind Cup while working as an American Sign Language instructor at Ventura College in Ventura, California, using their teaching earnings to fund the company. In teaching and international education administration roles, Christine was committed to creating intersectional learning environments that supported curiosity and empowered students to think critically.
Christine successfully applied their accessibility-focused design thinking to design and development roles at institutions as varied as the Siena School for Liberal Arts in Siena, Italy, and Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. At both institutions, they focused on increasing accessibility through Deaf Studies partnerships and programming. Christine also spent over ten years working as a research and development consultant for the family’s generations-old Rincon Del Mar Ranch, purveyors of specialty produce, and a patented variety of cherimoya – a family specialty of subtropical fruits.
Christine, born into a long line of farmers and stewards of the land, has a deep appreciation for nature and lives in the middle of an avocado orchard in Carpinteria, California. She belongs to Rotary Carpinteria and is a graduate of Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV).

Don’t you just love the title, “Being Drunk on One’s Own Thoughts?” That title is actually one of the 8 Keys in Myung Sung, a living meditation. My guest is the author, Dr. Jenelle Kim. Dr Kim writes that Myung Sung is a “form of living meditation that is active, dynamic and woven into our everyday lives. It is a form of meditation that helps us to see ourselves, and therefore the world, more clearly”.
In this episode, we talk about the 8 Keys of Myung Sung with particular focus on Key 2: The True Right Correct Method, Key 3: Stop Being Drunk on One’s Own Thoughts and Key 6: Change Your Reality for the Better. Dr. Kim shares her wealth of knowledge that was passed down from her father. In this episode, we talk about how we can apply Myung Sung in our own lives, how all of it is connected and how you can use these principles to create the reality you desire. Be sure to listen to the end where Dr. Kim talks about setting your mind and your intention and plugging into the Tao. The post Being Drunk On One’s Thoughts & Changing Your Reality for the Better appeared first on WebTalkRadio.net.
This week my guest is Daniel Hodge from Thrive Lot and we are talking about autodidactism, entrepreneurship and empowerment. Daniel and I have an expansive conversation about thinking outside of the box, how learning doesn’t have to come from an institution and how you can learn things faster than you might think that makes a difference in your life.
Subscribe with your favorite podcast player
Apple PodcastsAndroidRSSYou are never too old to start learning something and you don’t have to get a degree to do something and then have a career from it! Entrepreneurship is a true example of taking an idea and bringing it to life; creating what you speak!
Daniel grew up and began his autodidactism at an early age. His notion of reality and its malleability were manifested through homeschooling and a free-range childhood. Whether through drawing, inventing, reading, writing, playing music, singing, and finding infinite ways to stoke his creative fire, he never experienced boredom until attending public school. In high school, Daniel decided he wasn’t interested in status games, and instead focused on developing his athletic prowess, balanced with a pursuit of the arts.
His undergraduate studies led him to explore Philosophy, Economics, and Political Theory. Obsessed with why humans think the way we do, and what cultural, socioeconomic, and political priors serve to influence and underpin our thinking, he worked on developing his analytical and critical thinking skills.
Using this framework as a springboard, he leapt at the opportunity to pursue a Masters in Architecture at the University of Tennessee. Professional titles were never interesting to him, and neither were careers (which seemed more like compartmentalizations of the human experience). Through Architecture, he observed the interconnectedness between epistemological and creative expressions of humanity through time. In the Spring of 2015, Daniel traveled to Rome, Italy, to spend a semester pursuing his graduate studies at the University of Arkansas Rome Center. It is here that he discovered his passion for photography, historic preservation, and ecological issues. From an experiential perspective, this served to influence the direction of his Master’s thesis, which focused on the trajectory of Architecture as a profession, especially its limitations.
Using all of the design tools at his disposal, he fell in love with the tools we develop and use to meet our needs. As a designer himself, Daniel realized the significance of software and its efficacy in application. Coincidentally, his brother Micah was exploring computer science and programming during this time. Growing up playing games on computers and consoles, Daniel set out to design a game that would become foundational to what lay ahead. Working with his brother, they built and released their first iOS app: Light Traveler.
Fast forward to now, Daniel has designed and built over 30 websites and apps, along with a half dozen architectural installations and projects, including a 30,000 Sq. Ft. Coworking facility in the heart of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He founded three businesses and helped friends and clients catalyze another ten. His love of systems led him to work briefly with the Tennessee Valley Corridor, a nonprofit focused on STEM-focused public-private partnerships.
While all of these projects and experiences were important to growing his skill stack, business acumen, and design accolades, none of them presented the opportunity to synthesize his various talents into a streamlined purpose. That is, until his friend Justin West introduced the idea of Thrive Lot. Thrive Lot is an online platform that connects you with vetted service providers to transform traditional yards into beautiful, edible landscapes and forest gardens through ecological systems design. You can learn more at https://www.thrivelot.com/ and connect with Daniel at @thrivelot on Instagram and Facebook and @danielhhodge on Twitter.

Many times I have these great conversations with my friends and after we are done talking I say, “that should have been a podcast!”. So this week, I invited one of my very best friends Shannon to come on the show and do what we do best, talk things out!
Subscribe with your favorite podcast player
Apple PodcastsAndroidRSSI’m calling this “unscripted conversations with friends” because we don’t have a script for this show. The only thing we decided on was our topic – Breaking Out of Mental Quarantine Habits and the rest is a real life conversation between two friends!
One of the things I love about my friendship with Shannon is I can be 100% authentic and real with her and while we do vent it out when needed, we are both solution oriented. We don’t just leave it at the vent session, we come up with a plan to help each other out, no matter what this situation is.
In this conversation, Shannon and I share some of our struggles with moving on with life post quarantine and we talk about solutions to move past the struggle and on to the life we want to live. I hope you enjoy this unscripted conversation with friends!

This week my guest is Erhard Vogel. Erhard and I have an open and honest conversation about what it takes to free your mind from the mental terror we often impose on ourselves. We also discuss Erhards new book “A Dialogue with Death The Teacher of Life: An Ancient Story for The Modern World“. Erhard wrote the book to offer you the highest experiences of the Being you are, and to help you realize the answers to the most pressing and fascinating questions of human life. “This book is not for the ordinary person, and everyone should read it, for it challenges even those who think little of themselves to rise to the level of perception that frees them from ignorance and the consequent suffering.”
This was a very enlightening interview for me to have the privilege of participating in. I hope you find it is enlightening for you as the listener. Be sure to listen to the end where Erhard shares one simple piece of advice you can do right now to get started on your path to self-discovery.
More about Erhard: Erhard Vogel, PhD, is recognized as one of the foremost meditation and Self-realization teachers in the world. Born in war-torn Germany, Dr. Vogel immigrated to the United States at age fourteen. He graduated from the Pratt Institute of Design in New York, and at an early age rose to a respected position in a world-renowned architectural firm. At thirty-one, he set aside a brilliant career in architecture to devote himself to the service of humanity.
For four years Erhard traveled the globe on foot researching the ways in which people of different cultures seek fulfillment. He saw the underlying need in everyone to fulfill their potential. In India Erhard met two of the world’s most renowned luminous Masters, who welcomed him into their midst and invited him to teach among the Himalayan sages—a rare distinction for a westerner. He lived for an extended period of time in a Himalayan cave in a remote sacred area. He returned home to address the problems and aspirations of our contemporary society with his teachings. Following a lecture tour spanning the United States, Europe and Canada, he came to San Diego and founded The Nataraja Yoga Ashram, a not-for-profit organization.
Erhard’s teachings are a unique combination of time-tested wisdom and pragmatic method. His fundamental, experiential and systematic approach is based upon sound psychological, physiological and spiritual principles that make meditation and Self-realization practical and attainable. Since 1969, Erhard has taught tens of thousands of students throughout the world. He continues to travel regularly to India and teach among the sages in the Himalayas, where he is recognized as a Master Teacher. He has authored four books as well as numerous audio recordings of guided meditations and teachings. Erhard currently offers courses on-site and online through The Nataraja Meditation and Yoga Center in San Diego, California.
As mentioned at the end of the show, The Evening of Self-Discovery on November 1st from 6-8 pm PST includes an interactive lecture with Dr Erhard Vogel about living in Self-empowerment through the Expert In LifeTM Program taught personally by Erhard. Erhard will also give participants a guided meditation, and some current students will comment on their personal achievements for the past 8-week course [Essential Meditation]. To RSVP and receive the Zoom invite please confirm at [email protected] or call Pam Reed at 858-395-4033 or Mollie Malone 858-337-7963.
You can find out more about Erhard at his website The Nataraja Meditation and Yoga Center, on Meetup, Instagram & YouTube. If you order Erhard’s new book, “A Dialogue with Death The Teacher of Life: An Ancient Story for The Modern World“, notify his team at [email protected], and they will send you a free CD of Erhard’s guided meditation, The Stress Release Response, and any notices about book-signings or courses on the book.

We spend at least 40% of our day (at minimum) dealing with our careers. Forty Percent! That’s a lot of time spent focused on one area of our life, and if you’re not satisfied your job may feel like a prison to you. As someone who has been fired, and laid off multiple times, I know first hand the impact this has on your life.
This week I have a lively discussion with executive Career and leadership coach Amy Sanchez. I chose the title of the show – Don’t Flee to Another Job You’ll Hate, Instead Learn the Secrets to Finding a Career You’ll Love – because I’ve done just that over the years and it’s never turned out good! I’ve gone from job to job, grabbing on to the nearest lifeboat, no matter how inflated that boat was. This desperation led me to recreate the same situation with a new job title at a new company, I was not living the create what you speak lifestyle.
