What about conversational marketing? Measuring conversational marketing can be tough, so start from the beginning. The first step would be to use tools like chat and chatbots to measure the first question.

From the get-go, asking for something from them right away such as their email, or if they’d like to make a subscription, could turn people off. Instead, first ask for their name and how you can help them—make a connection before making a pitch.

Even though podcasting is an audio medium, you need to pay attention to the written components as well. Here’s a brief list of copy necessities for your podcast:

1. A title. Should be clear and engaging.

2. An excerpt or summary. The feature text below a post on a website, or on the podcasting app itself. This should grab attention, making individuals want to listen.

3. Show notes. The long form copy which can benefit your website’s SEO and give in-depth details about the episode.

4. Transcriptions. Makes your podcast more accessible for people in positions where they can’t listen.

Instead of going through the awkward friendship courting process, start a podcast. On this platform, you can host guests, as well as be a guest—which will allow you to have conversations with and learn from people you may never have thought possible.

Don’t be afraid to go narrow! Sara Dunn, Wedding industry SEO consultant, used to be afraid of writing articles that were too specific. She was worried that her general audience wouldn’t benefit.However, soon enough she found many online searchers are looking for specific information.

If you’re trying to start a conversation with a prospect… how about trying to actually have a conversation. According to Dan Moyle of Impulse Creative, the most important metric to look out for is email replies.

However, it’s not as easy to measure replies as it is to measure opens, click-throughs, and CTA conversions, the software isn’t there yet.

While there is no quick fix software or program, you can measure with sales and marketing communication. Either by keeping notes or using CRM, you’ll be able to measure your replies. As this metric grows, so could your sales marketing success.

Cross promotion works with a variety of mediums. For example, a lot of snippets from Creative Marketing Brief are pulled from host Jeff Large’s podcast, The Jeff Large Podcast. This cross promotion, in addition to Jeff being featured on several other podcasts, has led to a visible spike in listenership.

From March to April numbers doubled. Fast forward another month and they’ve doubled again. All due to the simple tactic of cross promotion.

In whatever medium you work in, look for ways that you can cross promote.
