Then Erika covers the London Beer Flood of 1814. When a 22ft tall vat containing Porter broke open taking out more vats and barrels in its path. The 15 foot wave took down buildings and homes through the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street killing 8 people.

On this week’s episode Erika, dives into the story of Daniel Lee Corwin. Daniel was born in Temple, Texas on September 13, 1958 and was troubled from an early age. His first attack was committed while he was still in High School when he attempted to abduct a fellow classmate. She luckily survived and the courts found him guilty and sentenced him to 40 years in prison. He only served 9 years of that sentence and went back to his sadistic ways. Daniel Lee Corwin went on to harm several more victims before the bravery of one of his victims finally lead to his arrest.

Then Erika covers the Babbs Switch Schoolhouse Fire. On a chilly, Christmas Eve in 1924 the Babbs Switch Schoolhouse near the town of Hobart, Oklahoma was the scene of a deadly fire. Around 200 people including students, families and staff arrived for a Christmas celebration, that would end in disaster. Just as Santa reached for the last few presents one of the candle decorations was knocked over, causing the tinsel to go up in flames. This tragic fire took 36 lives of all ages and injured 37. It even led to the mysterious disappearance of a 3 year old little girl, who would years later reappear but the truth would not come out for many more years after that.

In this episode, Erika covers Wayne Nance better known as “The Missoula Mauler". Wayne had been committing murders between 1974-1986, but at the time there was never enough evidence to convict him. Until one fateful day when he tried to murder a couple, who fought back with all that they had, and Wayne was the one who ended up dead. It was not until his death that investigators learned that there were similarities between his last attempted murder and the unsolved murders. But unbeknownst to the loved ones, the ashes that they were provided were that of wood and debris. The incinerator was in working order, so why did the owner, Ray Brent Marsh, scatter bodies around the 16 acre property rather than properly cremate them?

Then Erika cover hot air horrors. In 1989, in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia. Early morning on August 13, passengers of all ages were waiting to board their Hot Air Balloon for a Sunrise tour of the incredible landscape that Alice Springs had to offer. 12 passengers and the pilot board the balloon and begin to take off. Unfortunately, they ascended straight up into the basket of the balloon above. All of a sudden, the balloon has a tear the size of a bed sheet, and shit starts going wrong, really wrong. Then within 51 seconds all 13 people aboard sadly died when the Balloon plummeted the 2,000 feet to the ground. Then Erika takes us to Luxor, no not the Luxor in Vegas but the actual City of Luxor in Egypt. On February 26, 2013 a group of tourists were ready for their Hot Air Balloon ride that would take them to see an aerial view of the Nile River, Temple of Karnak, The Valley of the Kings and other historical attractions. Now the ballooning company Sky Cruises had already been under the radar with past accidents and crashes in their repertoire dating back to 2007. The fall of Hosni Muburak, the Egyptian military and political leader who served as the 4th President of Egypt, led to a revolution, which was said to be the cause or result of such disregard for safety measures on tourism activities. There were a total of 20 people aboard the balloon, including the pilot. Only 2 minutes later, the balloon catches on fire and the balloon explodes. Out of the 20 passengers only 2 of them survived.

In this episode, Erika goes back to the 1920’s and shares with us the mysterious death of Thelma Todd also known as “The Ice Cream Blonde”. Thelma was a beautiful, brilliant, and talented young woman who started her love of the spotlight winning beauty pageants. She was soon discovered by a talent scout for Paramount Studios and shortly ruled the Silver Screen during the Silent Film Era. She then went on to become one of the most sought-after actors in the Talkies Film Era. She had a few romantic relationships but was mostly known to have been involved with Roland West. Thelma would also venture into owning her own restaurant, which she named “Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk Café”. Thelma was loved and adored by all and was always up to gather with friends and enjoy a good party. One evening she was invited to a party by Stanley and Ida Lupino, at the party she ends up running into her ex, but still managed to enjoy her night. Early the next morning her driver got her back home safely and the next morning she was found dead in her car. So, take a listen and decide for yourself if it was an accident or was it murder.

A few days later, her husband, Mark Winger, called 911 and reported that Donnah had been attacked in their home by the shuttle driver, Roger Harrington. Mark also told the dispatcher that he shot Roger Harrington to save his wife.
