In this episode, Erika covers the Richardson family murders. What happens when your beautiful little 12 year old girl, meets and falls in love with a 23 year old man. Most likely nothing good will come out of that and in this case it turned into murder and heartache. Jasmine Richardson was a typical 12-year-old, who was annoyed that her parents treated her like she was 12, when she clearly wanted to be treated as an adult. She would meet 23-year-old Jeremy Steinke on the internet on a social media site for people who were into everything goth. They would fall in love and of course her parents had an issue with this duo, for many reasons, but age was definitely at the top of their list. So Jasmine got upset and concocted a plan, where the end result would be her living and spending the rest of her life with Jeremy.

Then Erika covers amusement park fuck-ups. There have been some crazy tragedies that are attached to amusement parks, water parks and local carnival rides. No one expects to go to any of these fun family places and not come home with all of their family members or to come home with missing body parts. There are some that are definitely operator error, or mechanical fails. The weirdest ones though are where its just such a freak accident that no one would have ever been able to prepare themselves for it.

In this episode, Erika covers the barbecue murders. On June 21, 1975 in Terra Linda, San Rafael, California Jim and Naomi Olive would lose their lives. They would be brutally murdered by their very own adoptive daughter and her boyfriend. Their daughter Marlene was 16 at the time and her boyfriend was 19years old. The two met while he was dealing drugs at her High School. It was not love at first sight for Marlene, but even still Charles “Chuck” Riley would pursue her. She would eventually “fall for his ways” but it seemed more like she realized that she could easily manipulate Riley since up to that point he had never had a girlfriend. Marlene had a very strained relationship with her adoptive mother Naomi, but had a wonderful relationship with Jim her adoptive father. That was until he lost his job in Ecuador and had to move the family back to the United States. He started his own business and to get that going he wasn’t home much and wasn’t able to spend as much time with Marlene. She began to be resentful and the fighting with her mother got to be more and more often and sometimes even involved violence. Marlene masterminded a plan to kill her parents, and made Rile part of it.

Then Erika covers the alphabet murders. Three young girls: Carmen Colón, Wanda Walkowicz and Michelle Maenza between the ages of 10 and 11, all born and living in Rochester, New York at the time and all brutally murdered. They had a few similarities like being young, girls, catholic, having a hard time in school, living in poor neighborhoods of Rochester and the most obvious similarity was that their first names started with the same letter as their surname. From 1971-1973 these 3 little girls would be abducted, raped, and strangled to death all on their way home from running errands for family members. They were all seen associating with someone driving a small beige or brown car like a Dodge Dart as well. Each girl’s body would be discovered near an expressway, just tossed aside in a city that also began with same letter as their name. These murders remain unsolved. If you have any information regarding the murders of Carmen Colón, Wanda Walkowicz or Michelle Maenza, please reach out to the Rochester State Police at (585) 398-4100 or email them at [email protected]
