  • What in the World?
You may recall the old phrase expressing surprise, shock or disgust where someone says, "What in the World?" That best describes the following headlines featured on this Crosstalk: Dr. Konia Trouton admits switching to euthanasia after she could no longer profit from abortion.Out of Nebraska, a woman who killed her daughter's 29 week old unborn baby, and set the child on fire, will only get 2 years in prison. A 25 year old Texas man facing accusations of raping a 16 year old is no longer in jail due to a delay by prosecutors in obtaining an indictment against him.Just days after the Million Person March against LGBT propaganda in schools swept the nation, the town of Waterloo, Ontario, was considering a bylaw prohibiting any communication on municipal property that could make LGBT-identifying individuals "feel harassed."Long delayed hate speech legislation (Hate Crime and Public Order Bill) for Scotland would be activated in November once Scottish police are adequately trained and familiar with its complicated policies and frameworks.Agencies within the Biden administration have moved to scrub gender specific words such as "mother" and "father" from childcare legislation.California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would allow parents to lose custody of their children if they refuse to accept the child's gender identity. Are such headlines indicative of a world moving rapidly toward the judgment of God or is this already his judgment playing out as he removes his hand of providence and protection? You decide as Jim presented several other stories. Listeners capped the program with their views.

  • Border Crisis Intensifies
Andrew Arthur is Resident Fellow in Law and Policy for the Center for Immigration Studies. He began his legal career through the Attorney General's Honors Program as a clerk to an administrative law judge in the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer at the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review.Vice President Kamala Harris had been given the assignment of taking care of the U.S. border crisis. However, it's grown much worse primarily due to a refusal to enforce border laws. The problem has become so bad that earlier this month, the International Organization for Migration at the United Nations reported that the U.S. Southwest border is the world's deadliest land migration route.Jihad Watch has reported an admission from the Department of Homeland Security that around 160 non-U.S. citizens on terror watch lists have attempted to cross over the border in 2023. Keep in mind that it only took 19 terrorists to bring about the 9-11 terror attacks upon America. Many have seen the video footage of a train filled with military age men bound for the U.S. border. Train cars piled high with cheering men. Just a week ago a Fox News reporter said on social media that he recently witnessed, "One of the largest mass illegal crossings we have ever seen."By the way, the invasion is not just by land, but by air as well as this administration is letting thousands fly directly into the U.S., which means the whole nation is being impacted with New York City now saying they'll have to spend more than a billion dollars to house illegals, and that's just for hotel rooms!

  • Popular Survey of Apologetics for Today
We live in a world where many people are claiming to have their own truth. As believers in Christ, we've been given the unshakable truth that comes from God alone. However, simply knowing this truth is not enough. We must be able to communicate it and when necessary, to defend it. The task of apologetics is for all believers to be able to give a defense for anyone who asks for the reason for the hope that is in us and then do that with meekness and fear. How do we do this and where do we begin? To answer that question, Crosstalk welcomed back Dr. Ron Rhodes. Ron is president of Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries. They are a teaching and resource ministry that specializes in defending Christianity against atheists, agnostics, skeptics, the cults, and world religions. Ron is a researcher, author and apologist, having written over 60 books. He joined Jim to discuss his recently released book, A Popular Survey of Apologetics for Today: Fast Facts Every Christian Should Know. The word "apologetics" in the Greek means "defend." Ron believes defending the faith is necessary because we're living in confusing times where there are many different religions and belief systems that are vying for supremacy. While that's going on, all of those individuals who believe in those false views are defending them. So what happens if those people defend their views but Christians remain silent? They win! What's needed are Christians that are involved in the process of apologetics. It doesn't mean you have to go out and obtain a seminary degree or that you have to learn Greek or Hebrew. It means that you're led by the Lord to share the truth from Scripture with others.

Robert J. Morgan is leader of Robert J. Morgan Ministries, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to energize God's people with a greater understanding and appreciation of the Bible and Christian heritage. He served in pastoral ministry for over 40 years, and is a bestselling author with over 35 books in print. He's with us today discussing his book, Calm Your Anxiety: Winning the Fight Against Worry.Pastor Morgan began by noting that there are numerous kinds of anxiety and every one of us is affected. Anxiety comes in the form of being tense, there's worry, anxiousness, we fret and sometimes our minds are obsessed with various fears. In short, anxiety is a dis-ease of the mind when we are troubled. He provided numerous examples from Scripture to help all of us in our battles with anxiety, particularly in the area of knowing what it truly means to rejoice in the Lord. Examples he referenced included Hannah, David, Habakkuk and Paul. However, there's more as rejoicing in the Lord means rejoicing in God's presence, pardon, provision, protection, guidance and his promises for the future. The key is moving from the what "ifs" of life to the what "is." You can do that when you discover how Scripture views the following 7 habits that we should develop: dependence, nearness, gratitude, thinking, influence, gentleness and peace. So get ready to learn how to put worry and anxiety in its place.

  • Israel Update
In spite of the promises of Genesis 12:2 and Genesis 13, Israel is under constant attack. In a recent briefing, the Israeli Defense Forces reserve major general told journalists, "We are facing something like around 200 alerts every day for terrorism." It's also been reported that at least 36 Israelis have been murdered by terrorists. The attacks involve more than just terrorism and returning to Crosstalk to explain what they involve was Chris Katulka. Chris is assistant director of North American Ministries at The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry and host of The Friends of Israel Today radio program. • Juries Split on Kim Davis “Same-sex marriage” Case
Mat Staver is the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. Mat is a constitutional attorney with three landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He's an author and the host of the radio broadcasts Faith & Freedom and Freedom's Call.On June 26th, 2015, in a case known as Obegefell v. Hodges, a majority of the Supreme Court released their decision that they found a right to same-sex marriage in the U.S. Constitution. There have been many that have stood up to say that they will not be forced into acting against their religious convictions, and such has been the case with bakers, florists and website designers and yes, even a county clerk. This Crosstalk reviews the timeline involving Kim Davis, who although now retired, was the elected (in 2014) clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky. She worked with then Governor Steven Beshear to try and obtain religious accommodation in the event that the U.S. Supreme Court would go the wrong way on the same-sex marriage issue which they did in 2015.The governor denied her request, in spite of the fact that he gave his attorney general accommodation to not defend the state constitution amendment that said marriage is the union of a man and a woman. In other words, the governor gave his attorney general the ability to not defend man/woman marriage for conscience reasons yet he wouldn't allow Kim to opt out of having her name, title and authority on a marriage license that conflicts with God's design for marriage. When the decision came down from the Supreme Court, Kim decided not to issue any marriage licenses until her accommodation request and the legislature came in to resolve the issue.

  • 2nd Amendment Attacked by NM Governor
Mike Hammond is the Legislative Counsel for Gunowners of America. We live in a time when every man is doing that which is right in his own eyes and lawlessness abounds. We see major metropolitan cities collapsing due to their lack of enforcing the law. Retail stores are leaving these areas in droves. It's going to get worse. To many, the rule of law means nothing in this current day. What about the Constitution? Well, it changes to whatever we want it to say.For just a brief moment, Jim shared that Planned Parenthood is resuming abortions in Wisconsin on Monday, September 18th. Lawlessness!Lawlessness also abounds in New Mexico as Governor Grisham made a very unconstitutional executive order suspending the 2nd Amendment in an attack upon the New Mexico Constitution and the US Constitution. She used the guise of a public health emergency to ban the right to carry firearms for most citizens within the city of Albuquerque. The ban is for a 30-day period, though the Governor is considering making it longer. Yesterday, Gun Owners of America secured a temporary restraining order against the Governor's ban on concealed carry.

  • Outreach to Pakistan Amidst Persecution
Most of us attend church each week with no threat of reprisal. This is not the case in other parts of the world. In recent weeks, Muslim mobs in Pakistan have attacked churches and Christian homes were set on fire. Thousands of Christian families were forced to evacuate including the guest on this Crosstalk. Joining Jim to bring more details on what's taking place in Pakistan, Crosstalk welcomed Pastor Shahid Kaleem. Pastor Kaleem is the founder and Chairman of Christian Literature & Translation Ministry in Pakistan. He's been partnering for several years with Bible Tracts, Inc. for effective ministry of Bible tract and Bible distribution ministry in Pakistan.Pastor Kaleem began by noting that Pakistan is the fifth largest nation in the world by population and the second most populous Muslim nation in the world. Because 90% of the population is Muslim, the Christians that live there don't have Bibles in their homes. In addition to the Muslim population, many people believe in numerous gods and are idol worshipers. Pastor Kaleem and his Christian Literature & Translation Ministry are able to reach such individuals in village after village with the Gospel of Christ via tracts, the Gospel of John, the New Testament and Bibles. The many Muslims in Pakistan believe in Allah and the Day of Judgment so many are curious about life after death. That's why many people want to read the Bible, even though they believe the Bible has been changed. In August, Muslims attacked Christians in Faisalabad over allegations of blasphemy. More than 33 churches and over 300 homes were burned, while things like money and jewelry were looted.
