Listen To This As A Podcast Instead🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/stephen-hicks-nietzsche-part-one/

Friedrich Nietzsche is one of the greatest and sharpest philosophers of all time. Nietzsche's ideas, Nietzsche's quotes and Nietzsche's philosophy has proven to be truly Lindy as it is permeated again and again through the culture. In this podcast, I trace the timeline of Nietzsche's life while Stephen Hicks provides all the context and explanation of Nietzsche's philosophy as it develops throughout his life.

Together, we traced Nietzsche's timeline up until the big inflection point, just as Nietzsche has published Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

  • #33 Mike Salbro 'Big Mike' | Growing Up Aboriginal In Sweden From The Stolen Generation

Visit The Website Where This Is Published🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/mike-salbro-aboriginal-in-sweden/

Big Mike Salbro is one of the last people forcibly taken from their mother’s arms as a member of the stolen generation.

Mike’s story is full of twists, turns, tragedies and inspiration. He was adopted at just a few months old from a lovely Swedish woman and shortly after moved to Stockholm. Mike, alongside his brother (also Aboriginal and adopted in Brisbane) then grew up in Sweden coming through Swedish schools and the entire Swedish system.

Mike has now returned to Australia. Brisbane specifically and now works as a social worker after going through his journey in the social system supporting young indigenous people of Australia.

This chat meant a lot to me. Big Mike is a legend. I hope you enjoy it the same. Spread it far and wide and leave positive reviews.

  • #32 Preston Martin & Aleksa Burmazovic | The Incredible World Of Special Economic Zones

Listen To This Interview As A Podcast Instead🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/interview-special-economic-zones/

Both Preston & Aleksa work for the Special Economic Zone consultancy firm, The Adrianople Group, of which Preston is a co-founder. We covered so much in this chat – most notably, what are special economic zones? I wrote an article explaining, in brief, an introduction to these phenomena of globalisation and multinational trade, but it is in this conversation I had with Preston & Aleksa that the true depth of Special Economic Zones starts to be realised.

Over 60% of the world's trade runs through a Special Economic Zone and these are spaces whose regulations fall outside of the state's regulations within the country they are housed. So you can immediately see a story of tax evasion and exploitation. But this is to quick and un-nuanced a look at things, it turns out Special Economic Zones (like many things) are subject to both the good and the bad, and things of such complexity are worth thinking about.

My favourite part of the chart was all of it! But that doesn’t help you point out highlights. So in short I would say the following three subjects make up the best parts of the conversation.

    • The Philosophy Of Special Economic Zones
    • China & It’s History With Special Economic Zones
    • Defining Special Economic Zones Through Real-Life Examples

  • #31 Tim Marshall | Power Of Geography, Geopolitics, Saudi Arabia & Space

Listen To This Interview As A Podcast Instead🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/tim-marshall-power-of-geography/

Tim Marshall returns to the podcast!

To continue along with the international theme and enormous popularity of ‘Prisoners Of Geography‘, Tim Marshall recently published the natural follow-on to this wonderfully geopolitical lens through which to measure the world… ‘The Power Of Geography‘.

It is the themes within this freshly minted book those which Tim and I discuss in this interview. Tim comments on everything from Australia to China to the UK to MBS to Saudi Arabia and even to space. Tim even comments on an accusation often made against him that he is taking a geographical determinist’s view of the world – making for a very interesting consideration for what are the actual building blocks of the world we currently inhabit.

Tim doesn’t disappoint with his broad geopolitical erudition.

Listen To This Interview As A Podcast Instead🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/david-roberts-volts-interview/

David Roberts is, among many other interesting things, THE energy writer on substack @ volts.

As you know – Geothermal Energy – is very close to my heart and in addition to my article ‘The Promise Of Geothermal Energy‘ this chat with David works to support my understanding of the real potential this clean energy proposes.

David now writes on substack under volts.wtf – The Volts Substack – and this is the place to read about clean energy online. The depth is fantastic and the breadth of understanding is impressive.

Listen To This Interview As A Podcast Instead🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/thomas-kanze-interview/

Thomas Kanze is the CEO and Founder of Nomadific. One of the worlds most informative and helpful websites for digital nomads everywhere.

He, himself is a digital nomad and has had an extensive experience living throughout many in the world. He currently lives in Puerto Viejo – Costa Rica with his wife and children and has created a co-working space in this otherwise untapped slice of the Central American jungle. His hope is to make Puerto Viejo a hub for digital nomads.

Thomas and I spoke about many things but most interestingly I believe was the insights Thomas had into the trends of the Digital Nomadic movement. How Covid accelerated, how people are making money, where people are going and more inquisition along these lines.

Article Of The Interview With Chris Lovett 🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/chris-lovett-interview/

Chris Lovett is the author of the wonderfully written and freshly printed book - 'The Discovery Of Less'.

Chris joined me on 'A Curious Worldview' for an interview about the journey he went through in writing the book. It starts in London and then proceeds to tell a tale that is so relatable to so many of us. The story of getting stuck into something you didn't intend. That feeling you are not living according to your instinctual path. That feeling like you are not taking on the adventures your younger self wished your older self would be brave enough to take.

  • #27 Angus Fletcher | The Absolute Wonder Of Stories & What They Teach Us

The Interview With Angus Fletcher 🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/angus-fletcher-wonderworks/

Angus Fletcher joined me on 'A Curious Worldview' recently. He is, among many other things, the author of the wonderfully insightful book - Wonderworks: 25 Powerful Inventions In The History Of Literature.

Angus has been involved in a 'rouge literary' group known as project narrative for some time and as consequence now and then throughout his career has been involved in the writing and editing of both popular and unpopular Hollywood scripts. Angus is a trained neuroscientist and it is from this perspective he approaches his understanding of literature.

What Angus has done is uncover inventions of literature that until now have only been understood on an instinctual level. Angus has measured what certain styles and techniques of literature do to the brain. How empathy is trained through literature. Why apologies are effective. Things along these lines. It's brilliant.

  • #26 Chris Williamson | Escaping The Pigeon Hole & Hosting Jordan Peterson On The Modern Wisdom Podcast

The Interview With Chris Williamson🎙️: https://atlasgeographica.com/chris-williamson-interview/

Chris Williamson is the host of the Modern Wisdom podcast, one of Europe's and quite frankly - the worlds - fastest growing and most exciting podcasts for the inquisitive mind.

Chris has created something, in Modern Wisdom, that I quietly emulate and admire from afar. The prospect of getting the opportunity to speak with whoever you want around the world who interests you most is the absolute final motivation for why I started this podcast. Chris recently had on JBP Jordan Peterson, which marked for him this high watermark and realisation of this absolute motivation.

We spoke about much. Stereotypes, being pigeonholed, stifling ones potential, imposter syndrome and not enough about cricket.

Subscribe to the podcast fellas! I hope you enjoy Chris Williamson.
