The topic of this week's episode of the CWC podcast is self loathing, attaching self worth to our physiques, and the different coping mechanisms we use to distract ourselves. For years I desperately wanted to be ok with the way I looked, and I reached that point at the beginning of my transformation in 2017. I thought I had it all- until it all came crashing down when I had breast implant illness and could no longer workout, which had become my newest "addiction." I thought nobody would find me relevant if I wasn't in the gym hitting PRs. It took a long time to realize that my body does not dictate who I am as a person. I thought having a perfect physique would solve all of my problems, and (shocker) it didn't. I also am still in the process of letting go of what others think of my body, and this one is harder than I thought.

In this week's episode of the CWC podcast I have the pleasure of talking with New York Times best selling author John Romaniello for the second time, and this time we are talking about all things sex and shame. I grew up in the Baptist church hearing intense sermons about the sin of lust and it’s consequences. Even as a sexually active, married adult, I felt shame for my thoughts and actions and am still working to deprogram the messages I learned as a child. Discovering John on Instagram a few years ago, I was drawn to his openness around his sexuality, and his non-judgmental approach to discussing these “taboo” topics. He helps people break down feelings of shame surrounding sex in his infamous and anonymous Q&A's on IG. Today we discuss it all- from BDSM, to deprogramming shame, and the best emo bands/songs! If anyone has any questions for John, reach out to him on IG or leave a comment here!

In this week's episode of the CWC podcast, we are having a tough conversation about progress–or lack thereof. I have (for the most part) embraced my new figure and bought some new clothes, telling myself that I was fine with it. While that is true, I also would be stoked to get back into some of my regular clothes. Experiencing body frustrations while shoving a family-sized bag of Doritos in my dome, it became obvious that if I want change, I have to, you know, change. Not everything all at once, but some things to start. So I’m back in the gym, being more mindful about food, and not letting every second be "free for all." It took 24 hours to start feeling better, physically and mentally. I felt a sense of power and control again. It's time to challenge myself again. Join me for the ride, and I will show you how to make it fun!

On this week's episode of the CWC podcast I am discussing how I got off the ride I’ve been on since I was in my twenties. I have been chasing freedom for as long as I can remember. I have been fighting to let go of old habits for the past year that no longer feel good or aligning. Tracking macros, counting protein, and weight lifting, which I used to love, have become stale because it’s in the pursuit of achieving a certain physical look. In this episode, I talk about easing off my rigid expectations of how my body should look. I am living the most freely I ever have and the feeling is euphoric. I am allowing myself to guide myself based on how I feel inside, and not what I "think I should be doing." Life is too short to hate your body.

This week's podcast is another live video I did for our Community girls. I have been talking a lot lately about fighting the urge to succumb to extremes to make faster progress. I did anabolic steroids-if anyone knows about taking the easy path, it's me. But easy paths always come with a price, and they don't address the problem, which is the way you are viewing yourself. I never want my girls to change their bodies at the expense of their health or their happiness. At CWC, we want to help you achieve your goals on the outside, but also on the inside. Thinking that solving your physical goals are going to solve your problems will only lead you down a path of wasted time and money, exhausting yourself and never being truly happy or fulfilled. The best plan is one you can execute consistently. The starting point is to truly be okay with your body right now, today. That way any progress you make moving forward is the cherry on top, not one of a hundred steps you need to climb.

In this week's episode of the CWC podcast, I am delighted to be speaking with Amy, who is the creator of WeMAD over @dragonfliesandwhiskey on TikTok. WeMAD is a fictional world where gender roles are flipped and women make all the decisions. Amy’s skits on TikTok call out the absurdity of current events involving misogyny and sexism by swapping the roles of men and women. When she is not on TikTok, Amy is busy raising her three children and building websites. One of Amy's TikToks appeared in my FYP a few months ago and I immediately binged all of her videos. Listen and laugh with us as we discuss women's rights, transgender inequality, breaking free from internalized misogyny, and much more by sharing our personal experiences and views.

In this week's episode of the CWC podcast I talk about letting go of things that no longer fulfill you. We (especially women) tend to stick with things that we think we should be doing without considering what we really want. Then, when we fall short of meeting these expectations, we villainize ourselves. Sometimes the most freeing thing we can do is look in the mirror and say, “this is me, and if nothing changes moving forward with my body, then I am okay with that." Sometimes the gym is not a priority, and that's ok. Sometimes meticulously tracking your food is not a priority, and that's ok. It may come back around, but it may not. The point is to do less things that make you miserable, and more things that sound like fun. Life is too short to spend in a gym if you would rather be outside, or on your couch watching movies, giving yourself the care you need in that moment.

In this week's episode of the CWC podcast we’re talking about marriage. I’ve always talked candidly breast implants, sex, women's health, family life, and farm life, so I figured it was time to get real about how amazing, and difficult, marriage can be. I grew up in a generation that valued a picture perfect home and family life, where everything looked great from the outside, even if it wasn’t so great on the inside. Society can be misleading about marriage. We are told that to be happy we should find a romantic partner who is also a best friend, someone we have amazing sexual chemistry with, and our perfect soulmate. That idea is exactly what sets most of us up for failure in the end. In this episode, I’ll talk about the ups and downs of my own 21-year marriage, and don’t worry, it won’t be sugarcoated.

This week on the CWC podcast I have the pleasure of interviewing George Lopez, owner of Hardbody Gym. George is originally from the Bronx, New York, and moved to Oklahoma in 2007 to attend Spartan College of Aeronautics. His original passion was aircraft design, but when he moved to Oklahoma that quickly shifted to fitness after joining a local gym. After hosting workout groups and training friends, he knew he wanted to own his own gym. Fast forward to today, he has one of the most successful, welcoming gyms in town that reflects the diversity of our community. We talk business ownership, marriage, bodybuilding competitions, life, and the importance of believing in yourself while putting others first. George is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and I am so honored he came on my podcast. If you are local to Tulsa, Oklahoma, do yourself a favor and check out Hardbody gym!

In this week's episode of the CWC podcast, I share a video that I made for our Community girls on the topic of “bad foods.” I work with so many clients who have become terrified of food. I have spent years deconstructing “rules” that I believed for so long to be true, like eating a certain number of meals a day, or not eating past certain times, or only eating carbs with protein. Rules like these kept me locked in a cage for most of my adult life, and now I am teaching other women how to free themselves from similar cages. No foods are "good" or "bad," they are all just foods. Once you remove the scary labels, you free yourself to enjoy your life. Remember, you don't have to be miserable to make progress; diet culture just wants you to believe that so they can sell you another stupid fucking waist trimmer.
