This week on the CWC podcast, I have an extremely heartfelt conversation with Makensi Gage, wife, mother, and founder of the "It's a No from Me" blog. When Makensi reached out and asked to share her explant story with my listeners, I immediately said yes. She brings a fresh perspective on the topic of breast implant illness and the process of the explant procedure. She bravely shares her experience as a young woman dealing with debilitating health issues and the dark path it led her down. If you want to chat with Makensi or myself, please visit the show notes and click the links to contact us, day or night.

Being part of this Community means experiencing the highs and lows in real time with me. After a period of lows, I am finally feeling better, and this week I want to share the steps I took to get there with you. I also address two of my most requested topics: marriage and motherhood. I share some of my own struggles with both, discuss the trite (but true!) advice about communication being the key to overcoming relationship obstacles, and talk about the importance of “giving up” on a daily basis.
As always, I am available for questions related to today’s topics, breast implant illness, hormones, or food issues.

This week on the CWC podcast, my guest is Dr. Chris Barnes, a sports chiropractor who emphasizes the importance of healing not only physical ailments, but also the body’s energy. As a college football player at the University of Tulsa, Dr. Barnes suffered from numerous soft-tissue injuries, one of which ultimately ended his career. Frustrated, Dr. Barnes sought out some of the finest therapists and physicians in the world to learn the true causes of his pain and recurring injuries. He credits Dr. Michael Peterson for ultimately helping him get relief from his pain and inspiring him to become a chiropractor. Dr. Barnes shares how his realization that emotional trauma stored in the body can present as physical pain, and the importance of energy healing changed his life. At Tensegrity, his chiropractic practice in Tulsa, OK, he uses his knowledge, passion, and out-of-the-box approach to healing to help others find relief from chronic physical and emotional pain.

This week on the CWC podcast, I take off the rose-colored glasses and talk about the difficulties of day-to-day life as a parent, spouse, and full-time business owner. All of these normal challenges were compounded significantly for many, including myself, when COVID hit last year. Life can often feel like too much in the best of times, but the pandemic pushed many over the edge and into a dark abyss. If you felt like this, I hope this episode helps you realize that you are not in this alone. If you need someone to reach out to, please don't hesitate to click the link below and email me.

This week on the CWC podcast, I sit down with New York Times bestselling author and outspoken feminist, John Romaniello. John is a master storyteller, polyamorist, and professional mentor who helps entrepreneurs build and scale businesses through writing and branding. We have a heartfelt and open discussion about what polyamory is, why it works for him, and the importance of honesty and consensuality. John hopes his candidness in openly and honestly discussing his love life creates a safe space for people to explore their own sexual identities and preferences. We speak about his struggles with ADHD and how it impacts his writing as well as his personal life, and the day-to-day life of a writer/mentor. We end with a fun Q&A, and John encourages you to share your favorite parts of this episode with him (and me!), and explore any topics that may have been triggering with an open mind.
