When Steven Gordon shared with us to keep an eye out for how X-Men: Evolution's version of Scarlet Witch would play a big part in what the MCU would do later, the man wasn't kidding. Wanda makes he debut in X-Men: Evolution and she does it in a huge way with The HeX Factor.
And, let's be honest, she took out a LOT of people over the years.
Cyclops is Waiting for Me is our weekly podcast series where we are going back and watching EVERY-SINGLE-X-MEN-ANIMATED-EPISODE we can find, along with some bonus content. Our first series started with the original 1992 X-Men: The Animated Series building up to the release of X-Men 97’, which we thought was coming to Disney Plus last year but until that happens we will be covering other X-Men animated series like this one, X-Men: Evolution.

Steve Rogers is back in another X-Men animated series... sort of. In X-Men: Evolution, we see a different version of Captain America with a change to his origin and how he fits in the larger universe. Luckily, Logan is still a part of that backstory alongside some other darker ties, including to a young Erik Lehnsherr. Wolverine backstory, Cap and more with Evolution's Big Bad? Sign us up!

Iconic 2000's Girl Power all wrapped up into a single episode, Walk on the Wild Side gives a great look at what the X-Men of this universe SHOULD be doing with their powers. Jean, Boom-Boom, Kitty, Magma and Rogue actually get things done around Bayville while Xavier continues to have no idea what his students are doing. And, per CIWFM tradition, Scott is clueless.

Further exploring a world where mutants are mostly unknown to the general public, Beast takes a group of students including some of the New Mutants on a field trip to the redwoods only to be mistaken for the mysterious Bigfoot.

All the way back in 1989, a pilot was created for what could have been the first full X-Men animated series. In another universe, this series with Kitty Pryde as the eyes of the audience and an Australian Wolverine succeeded and shaped Marvel cartoons and cinema for the next three decades. But, as listeners of this show know, that wasn't the case.
Rod revisits this pilot, one of his favorite VHS's growing up, while JC experiences for the first time ever, only having seen the animated intro and of course the X-Men Arcade cabinet of the 90s which was based off of these character designs.
Welcome to 2024 with this flashback bonus episode of X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men.

Our first series started with the original 1992 X-Men: The Animated Series building up to the release of X-Men 97’, which we originally thought was coming out in 2023. But since it’s not here yet, we needed to find some other shows to cover including bonus episodes like this one.

Where does Nightcrawler go when he teleports? Has he been as sneaky as he thinks since transferring to Bayville? Why are we trusting Forge who was locked in a ghost dimension and couldn't get himself out for over two decades? In our final episode post of 2023, JC and Rod fall down the entendre trap as the X-Men prepare for the Sadie Hawkins dance and deal with extra dimensional dinosaurs... yup.

It wouldn't be X-Men if a powerful telepath didn't mess with Jean, would it? This mid-season episode gives us a new villain that Rod hadn't been aware of (who has a much needed redesign compared to his comic counterpart, according to JC) that introduces a bigger story at play for long time X-Men fans to get invested into.

Actually posting a holiday episode during the month of December? TOTALLY intentional. Cyclops and Rogue find themselves investigating an "Angel" who has been spotted in Manhattan while the other students are traveling home for winter break. With the debut of one of the original X-Men's five comic team members, we also get the return of one of the big bads of the series.

When JC says he doesn't want kids, this episode is exactly what he envisions (including a danger room, X-Jet and destroyed convertibles). Between Lance looking to join the X-Men whether it is to get redemption or to get closer to Kitty and Bobby and the New Mutants destroying every vehicle in a high monitored facility, JC will never wants to have to supervise teenagers... ever.
Also, JC apologizing for my audio quality on this one. Had a PC issue that resulting in me hopping to a different device that didn't have its proper settings in place.

As with CIWFM tradition, Rod is in the lead of a Storm episode with this one sharing a different perspective about Ororo's youth and her relationship with one of the tribes before coming to America. Some of the classic Ororo traits get explored like her claustrophobia while others like importance of her powers get a deeper dive. With this version of Storm having her nephew Evan at the Institute with her, we also get to check on her parenting style too and what it's like to disappoint the Wind Rider.
