Czabe tells Notorious J-A-Y his theory on exceptionally rare athletes like Rodgers, Mahomes, LeBron, Brady, and others. Ellen Degeneres fall from grace. Steelers schedule W/L. The NFL's "secret weapon." The pandemic just died. Thoughts and prayers. Cheatin' Duke, sauce shortages and much much more!
Tim Tebow is back in the NFL... sorta. Looking back at Tebow-mania and all the hype. Glenn "G-Unit" Younes joins me and Carol in the Mobile Strike Studio. We discuss social media, the Bezos Boat, how priceless anonymity can be for stars, going back to the office, demolishing RFK stadium, obnoxious Starbucks orders, and of course the latest CDC absurdities.
They don't make em like Kenny anymore, and we look at back at the time in which SportsCenter didn't constantly ball-wash jocks at the altar of the "Holy Church of the Athlete." Tom Boswell hangs em with the Post after 53 years. The F.P. Santangelo mess at MASN. Horse Racing scandal excuses. Bezos huge yacht. DC finally opening. #Science. MORE....
Ever since Whitesnake's 1987 #1 Hit "Here I Go Again" launched her into smokeshow super-stardom, "Peak Tawney" has never been achieved by anyone else. Rest in peace. Full houses are coming back in sports, add Atlanta to the list. But guys like Peter King just can't quit the pandemic mindset. How the pandemic wired our brains, and "fused our circuit" of logic in a destructive way. Rory back in the winners circle. Plus Czabe's "10 Commandments of String Trimming." MORE....
Oh, really? So it was NOT the Rodgers camp who leaked the story on draft day that blew up the news cycle? You had it all along? Okay, good to know NOW, Adam. But do we believe him? A rare Friday double-treat: NOTORIOUS J-A-Y and Paul Charchian join Czabe for a wide ranging discussion of music, cool old people, and Empire Leagues. Also, a killer Fauci impersonation, and the problem with Facebook bans.
I ran the possible "best case/worst case" on the "Gutey Gamble" that is playing out with Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love right now. For him to "win" would take an amazing confluence of events. But the downside "loss" in running Rodgers out of town, is staggering. Feedback to the feedback: TLDL? "Tell Jason... FTG!" Things that have gone downhill. Bill Gates getting divorced. Rona Roundup. Killing grandma.
Ever hear the story... "A former NFL corner and a 5-minute wideout in the CFL turned software salesman walk into a van..... " Well, you will today. Czabe invites legendary talker Fred Smoot into the van with golf buddy Bryant Hatcher (former CFL wideout who played at Cincinnati) to break down who they like and don't like from the NFL Draft. Shit also gets weird when Smoot talks about finding out if a date has a "dead tooth" on the first kiss, and how Chuba Hubbard has "6-toes." A lively show from inside the Mobile Strike Studio, with a delicious steak dinner from www.dcprimesteaks.com in the middle. Enjoy!
Czabe is joined by Andy and Solly for an "Easy Like Sunday Morning" version of the CzabeCast. They discuss the NFL Draft, the time Darrell Green was called "a little shrimp" on draft day, the Rodgers saga, shitty NBA efforts, and why Czabe will never go to a P.F. Changs again!
Aaron Rodgers has let it be known: he's done. Done with the Packers treating him like just "Employee #12." Done with too-smart-by-half moves like drafting Jordan Love. And yeah... money. Is it over in GB? Oh, come on. It's ovah! NFL Draft Round 1 (most of it!). A few thoughts on my guests on this podcast. Rona Roundup. MORE....
Czabe and Carol Maloney trap former radio colleague, former ESPN Sportscenter anchor, and longtime Redskins fan turned Cinderella story Bram Weinstein in the free hugs and candy van. Czabe shares tales of radio stupidity with Bram back in the day, plus his career ups and downs, and how he tries to call games now with an unusual broadcast crew for typical NFL teams.
