The "Best of the Reporters" reunion brought two perennial "3rd mic heavyweights" out to dinner at DC Prime in Ashburn this week: Chris Knoche and Thom Loverro. Andy and I reminisce with the guys about classic show moments, talk about the current state of sports team ownership in DC sports, and also dispense some helpful advice for anyone looking to break into "the biz."

Maybe NFL teams need to re-think what's going on Baltimore, and where the Lamar Jackson experience may end up. So what if it "can't last?" I'd argue the Ravens have already gotten nearly fair value for a late 1st rounder spent on Action Jackson. Notorious JAY joins me and discusses southern rap, rims, how Antoine Walker got so fat, and more. All that, plus what Mike McCarthy taught us about what needs to be done with Aaron Rodgers.
So what if it was ugly, the Redskins won. Right? Would you rather LOSE a horseshit awful football game? Nah. Might as well win these. And while I'm on it, how god-awful was Blake Bortles that the Jags would rather burn with Cody Kessler under center? The Packers are officially moved in to "suck town" with back-to-back losing seasons. Alex Smith is home, but not nearly out of the woods. Starbucks delivers?
Czabe and his "Goodfellas" gather to assess NFL playoff chances, Super Bowl faves and darkhorses, the brilliance of Patrick Mahomes and more. Plus Jerry vs. Danny debate, stadium preferences, Bryce Harper and $300 million, favorite Christmas gifts of all time and more.

When 42-1 longshot Buster Douglas chopped down Mike Tyson in his prime, it was shock to the sports world like nothing else. But you had to be alive and old enough back then to understand what sheer dominance looked like. It looked like Iron Mike! Notorious J-A-Y and I discuss. Jay puts Mike Tomlin on the dunk tank of being fired, and I put on my best legal defense of Kirk Cousins money can buy. All of that, plus middle fingers, FTG, and various random sports thoughts.
These feel like "End Times" again for Redskins fans in regard to their coach, Jay Gruden. He may well survive to see 2019, but the longer term outlook is grim. Today Andy Pollin and I walk through how other "end times" went with the failed graveyard of Dan Snyder coaches. They all ended badly. Some, strangely. Some suddenly. But... they ended. Because they all really weren't going that well.
On a cold, gray, ugly December day, the Washington Redskins took every one of their previous home bed-crappings under Dan Snyder and said.... "Here... hold my beer." My recap of attending my first ever Army-Navy game. NFL Week 14 odds and ends. Hugh Freeze and his junk!
Our scheduled "Steakhouse Confidential," turned into "Steakhouse Cancelled." But, never fear. We weren't going to give up free steaks. So we winged it! What we learned? Never live with another grown ass man, unless you are desperate. And if so, start saving every penny you have to get hell out. We also discussed Barstool Sports, Instagram, A-Rod, baseball hot-stove, the Redskins strategy with Reuben Foster and... "Reindeer Sweaters."
Czabe gathers "The Gang" for a 2018 season ending golf show, with ideas for gift giving, the value of good underwear, thoughts on "The Match" with Tiger and Phil, and also Cameron Champ, President G. H.W. Bush and much more! A golf nerd's delight!
There are no words. And no good answers. This team... is... f***ed. Not just for the rest of 2018, but likely for several years to come. I sort out with Andy Pollin where this team goes from here. The hopeful (delusional?) high road, or the dirty grimy road of shame: TANK AVENUE! Brett Favre cutting $500 promos for hate groups? Giannis controls his nut-punching urge. Team logo gear for nerds?
