We will read Psalm 108, Psalm 121, Psalm 143, and Psalm 144.  Today for our discussion I will share how God used these Psalms in MY  life today, and we will be encouraged to personalize the Psalms for  whoever or whatever our enemy is in our own lives, so that we can see  how they are applicable to us whenever we need them!

I'm sorry for the late posting today. I tried several times to get today's reading posted to the podcast apps. The episode kept stopping at 90% while processing and wouldn't go any further. I finally had to go to work. When I got home, almost 10 hours later, it was still stuck at 90% processed. I started over again and still had the same problem multiple times.

Today we are continuing with Psalms in the section entitled Songs for Times of Trouble. We will read Psalm 77, Psalm 91, Psalm 95 verses 1-7. In our discussion we will be reminded of the times that God has saved  us, been there for us, and cared for us. We will remember that God IS  Love! We will be called to worship Him and praise Him for always being  there for us and never leaving us and for all the wonderful things He does, every single day!

Today we will begin reading the Psalms. The Psalms are categorized in the Day By Day Kid's Bible. The section we are reading first is entitled:  Songs for Times of Trouble. We will read Psalm 23, Psalm 46, Psalm 61, Psalm 62, and Psalm 71. We will discuss each Psalm separately,  since they are not a continuous story, but each of the Psalms we read will have application for God being a safe place for us. We can trust God. We can rest peacefully in His presence and know that we are NEVER  alone. He is always with us; He is always trustworthy, and He always  loves us!

Today's reading will cover 1 Chronicles Chapters 22, 28, and 29. Today  we will read about the location of where God's Temple will be built. We will read about David preparing Solomon to build the Temple. We will see God providing the materials for building the Temple by inspiring generosity in David and the leaders to donate gold, silver, metal, iron, and precious stones. We will read about David's great joy in knowing where the Temple will be built, and praising God. In our discussion  today we will talk about being grateful and joyful about God's generous  provision for US and be encouraged to follow the example God gives us by giving generously BACK to HIM as well as being generous to others with the things God has given us, since EVERYTHING we have comes from HIM.

Today we are reading 2 Samuel Chapters 19, 20, and 24 as well as 1 Chronicles Chapter 21. We will read about David returning home as king, his forgiveness and compassion for the people who treated him poorly as well as his generosity toward those who provided for him when he needed  it. We will see David tempted by Satan to count the number of men in the  army and David giving in to that temptation, relying on the strength of  his own numbers rather than on God. We will see God delivering  consequence for David, by his own choosing, to reduce the number of  people that David was relying upon, as well as God's mercy to tell the angel to stop. In our discussion today we will talk about forgiveness being so important in our own lives, as well as relying on God to take care of us, rather than our own strength or wealth, because everything  comes from God to begin with, and He can surely take it away if we are  relying on IT rather than Him!

Today we will be reading 2 Samuel Chapter 18. We will see Absalom die  without any male heir and David mourning the loss of his son. In our  discussion we will talk about that we, as parents, do not rejoice in  seeing our children suffer for the consequences of their actions and  that God suffered seeing His son crucified for our sins. We will be  encouraged to not rejoice when others receive consequences of their  sins, like David was sad when his son died, and as Jesus taught us to  pray for our enemies, not to hope for bad things to happen to them.

Today we will read 2 Samuel Chapter 17. We will see David's helper giving what will seem like bad advice to Absalom and offer to kill King David himself! We will see God making his advice seem bad and see God provide safety for the priests who are taking a message to King David.  We will also see God provide for David and all the people with him by getting him to a safe place and sending people to provide food and bedding for them once they arrive! In our discussion today we will talk about God using everything for good and always being with us. Our New Testament parallel is that Jesus tells us He is with us always,  even to the end of the age!  God is always with us! We are never alone! And God will provide for us,  like He did for David and the priests, even when things are tough!

Today's reading covers 2 Samuel Chapters 15, 16, and Psalm 3. We will  read about David's son, Absalom, building up his popularity with the people for an eventual take-over of the Kingdom. We will see King David leaving Jerusalem and accepting insults from people as he leaves, submitting to  whatever God's will may be for him. In our discussion today we will  talk about David submitting to God's will and not responding to the false accusations that were thrown at him, much like Jesus when he was  placed on trial and faced false accusations. We will talk about David telling a member of his army that he doesn't think the same way as he does we will see the parallel this has for us as we have the mind of Christ and are meant to have our thinking transformed so that we do not to conform to the ways of this world. We will be encouraged that we are IN  this world while not being OF this world.

Today's reading comes to us from 2 Samuel Chapter 14. We will read about  David missing his son, Absalom, but not moving toward reonciliation  with him. We will see Joab intervening to hep David see that he needs to  take the first steps to reconcile with his son, much the same way that  God makes a way for US to return to HIM! Then we will see David coming  half way and bringing Absalom back into Jerusalem but still not speaking  to his son. Finally, we will see David reconciling with Absalom. In our  discussion we will talk about reconciliation with members of our own  families and how God made a way to reconcile with us, through His son,  Jesus. We will talk about God taking the first steps and how we, too,  may need to take those first steps to reconcile with those we are at  odds with, much the same way God takes the first steps, despite the fact  that we are still sinners.

Today we will be reading 2 Samuel Chapters 12, 13 and 23 and 1  Chronicles Chapter 11. We will recap yesterday's reading and remember  that God forgave David for his sins but he also pronounced consequences  for those sins. We saw one of those consequences yesterday, in the death  of the son born to Bathsheba. In today's reading we will start to see the consequence of perpetual fighting in David's family. In our discussion today we will talk about realizing and remembering as part of  our healthy fear of God that when we sin God can and does discipline us. We will talk about how David submitted to God when he experienced such discipline and be encouraged to submit to God when we experience consequences for our sins, as well.
