Daily Boost Podcast Telling the World About You August 21, 2026 | Episode 5525 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description People are watching you right now. Not in a creepy way. In a normal, human, sizing-you-up kind of way. They find you somewhere online, they binge your stuff, they ask AI about you, and then they quietly decide whether you're worth their time. I call it the shadow search, and it's happening whether you like it or not. Today I'll give you the two moves that turn all that watching into opportunity. One of them nobody wants to do anymore. The other takes more patience than most people have. Both of them still work. Let's go. Featured Story I was twenty-six, and I'd been to Larry's house: five thousand square feet, the cars, the whole thing. I wanted what he had, and I wanted it on my schedule, not his. So I pinned him down at the office and made my best case for a raise. I'd shown up. I'd done the work. He had gobs of money sitting right there, and I figured my share belonged in my pocket. Larry gave me an answer I did not want to hear at twenty-six. I stomped out and complained about it in the office kitchen. Twenty years later, I finally understood what he was actually telling me. Important Points Outbound beats waiting around, so send the letter, knock on the door, and make the call nobody else will make. Segment and target every piece of outreach, because blasting the same thing at everybody reads as noise, not help. You can't manipulate what people find, so build something honest enough to survive their shadow search on you. Memorable Quotes Sometimes you have to keep showing up long enough for the right people to notice. Then they will step up for you. There is a hidden layer of successful people all around you, and they are keeping an eye out for somebody like you. Just do what you do so people can see what you do, then reach out and give them the chance to get to know you. Scott's Three-Step Approach Pick one person this week and reach out to them first with a real letter, a phone call, or a knock on their door. Keep showing up the same honest way every day, so whatever they dig up about you backs up what you already told them. Give it longer than feels comfortable, and then let the right people come to you once they have seen enough of you. Chapters 0:13 - People are watching and learning about you now 0:45 - The attention era and why outbound wins today 2:06 - The shadow search happening behind your back 3:33 - Why the influencer act finally stopped working 4:24 - Larry, a raise, and the answer I hated hearing 6:44 - The hidden layer of successful people watching 7:41 - Three cruises later, Donna finally said hello Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify Email: [email protected] Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Daily Boost Podcast Awareness Is A Superpower August 27, 2026 | Episode 5529 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Most people drift through life without ever noticing what's really happening. They set goals, make plans, and then wonder why nothing changes. I found a fix years ago, and it takes about ten minutes a day. It's called the Daily Awareness Diary. Nine questions, asked the same way every morning, until you can't hide from the answers anymore. You're going to hate the name. You might hate the first few days. But by day four or five, you'll see yourself clearly, maybe for the first time in years. Give it a listen, then give it a try. Featured Story Years ago I kept running into the same wall with people I coached. I'd ask about their beliefs, their values, the actions they were taking. And they'd make it up, not on purpose. They couldn't remember. They didn't know. So I started thinking about personal trainers. They tell you to track your diet for a week before they build a plan for you. Nobody argues with that. I could do the same thing with a life. Track it for a week or two, read between the lines, and the answer shows up on its own. I built nine questions and handed them to my Face Your Passion group. What came back surprised even me. Important Points Ask yourself the same questions daily. The questions stay fixed, your life moves, and the real pattern shows up. Look back before you look forward. Yesterday's honest scorecard tells you exactly what you need to fix today. Plan your responses before the day starts. Decide how you will answer, and most of your stress vanishes. Memorable Quotes You can only write things down and make something up for a limited time until you see what is actually happening. If I can point your awareness in the direction it needs to be and then give you a way to make adjustments, we can. I am here to tell you, this silly idea called a Daily Awareness Diary changes everything and puts you in control. Scott's Three-Step Approach Start tomorrow morning by looking back at yesterday and deciding, honestly, how you feel about what you created. Then look forward and name what you will create today, instead of working through a list somebody else handed you. Finish with one affirmation drawn from what you just saw, and then do the same thing for fifteen straight days. Chapters 0:02 - Why brutal awareness beats every other tool 1:26 - The nine questions nobody wants to answer 2:15 - Track your life like a trainer tracks your diet 3:40 - Looking back, then deciding what you create 5:51 - Prayer, connection, and the people you forgot 6:48 - The preplanned response that kills your stress 8:52 - Write your own affirmation and keep going Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify Email: [email protected] Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Daily Boost Podcast Happiness Is Boring. Want Some? August 25, 2026 | Episode 5528 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description One degree. That's all it took for me to announce that winter is coming to Florida. We notice everything down here. I got to thinking today about why some people feel stuck and bored while others seem lit up all the time. It's not talent. It's not luck. Most of you already know every tip and habit ever published, and you're still not quite there. I'm going to hand you a foolproof way to feel better. Two simple moves, plus one bonus that ties it together. None of it is sexy. All of it works. Featured Story I started late today. Didn't sit down to record until after four, and right before I hit the button I checked the internet and saw that Dolly Parton had passed away at 80. I've been a fan my whole life. We're headed to Gatlinburg in October for a wedding, and we already had Dollywood on the list. We're still going. And this surprised me. I didn't feel sad, and I didn't feel happy. I just sat back and said, good job, Dolly. I don't know her story. I don't know if there was pain behind all those wigs. What I know is I caught myself smiling, and I'm still working out why. Important Points Exploring future possibilities costs you nothing. Look around with zero commitment and watch what jumps at you. Your anticipation engine needs two or three things on the calendar, close enough that your mind can picture them. Like-minded people have to be genuinely like you. Somebody who tolerates your thing is not the same as obsessed. Memorable Quotes The things people are most passionate about are the things they literally stumbled upon. It wasn't intentional. A peaceful base is that solid foundation, where your relationships, your money, and your time are all in control. Two or more people engaged in the pursuit of a definite purpose with a positive attitude are an unbeatable force. Scott's Three-Step Approach Start a list tonight of everything that sparks your curiosity, without letting a chatbot hand you a single one. Pull two or three items off that list and put real dates on them for the next 12 months, then track them. Take those dated plans and find people already obsessed with the same thing, because obsession keeps you in. Daily Boost Podcast Never Let Your Dreams Die August 12, 2026 | Episode 5518 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Have you ever gone all-in on a dream and watched it fall apart anyway? I just got back from Death Valley, where I spent days in 124-degree heat supporting a friend chasing a world record — a solo, self-contained crossing on foot. Nothing was easy. Everything went wrong before it went right. And the ending wasn't the one anybody planned. Today I'm sharing what happens when you go for it anyway — and why the gift you get from trying is different from the one you expected. If your dream feels impossible from where you sit right now, press play. Featured Story Somewhere around 7:30 that night, I noticed something. I don't know what it was. I said stop, got out of the truck, and called him over. Croix looked at me — a guy's dream about to die — and said, I'm getting too hot. I can't control my temperature anymore. I don't have enough water to finish. His heart rate was 109 just standing there. We were 90 miles from anything. It took me ten minutes to talk him out of his dream — maybe ten minutes that saved his life. Then something I didn't expect happened: a big smile crossed his face. Five minutes down the road, a hotel sat with a pool. That's where this story begins. Important Points Facing your passion is hard. Doing it is even harder. Falling short is hardest of all — and worth every step anyway. If your dream feels foggy, you're missing two things: the right information and a real plan to pay for it. Fix both. When someone you love is chasing a dangerous dream, support them fully — and stay close enough to save their life. Memorable Quotes This dream became possible simply because he decided to do it. Decide what you want to do and say, let's do it. The story you get, the gift you get from trying, is often different than the one you thought you were going to get. If it's not going your way, look for the gift you're being given — something more powerful than you can ever imagine. Scott's Three-Step Approach Decide what you want and say it out loud. Every dream becomes possible the moment you commit to going after it. Then solve the money problem before it stops you. Find a sponsor, build a plan, and fund the passion you just named. When the outcome isn't what you planned, hunt for the gift inside it. That lesson becomes fuel for your next attempt. Daily Boost Podcast Communication Kung Fu August 28, 2026 | Episode 5530 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Somebody drops a request on your plate, and you hear yourself saying yes before your brain catches up. Now you're doing work that was never yours, and the thing you actually needed to finish sits there. Years ago, an improv class handed me two small moves that fixed this. They keep you agreeable, keep people liking you, and keep your calendar your own. I use them on clients, on my kids, on anybody walking down the hall looking for a favor. Nobody has ever caught on. Try them this weekend and watch what stops landing on your desk. Featured Story Years ago I was chasing voiceover and spokesperson work, and I knew I didn't sound natural. I've got this radio voice built into me. Great for reading copy. Terrible for sounding like a regular guy standing in a kitchen. So I took classes: acting classes, commercial classes, drama classes. I scared a few people with my acting chops. I was that good. The one that changed everything was improv. You watch improv and wonder how those people keep pulling ideas out of thin air. It looks like magic. It isn't. There's one simple rule beneath it all, and I've been using it in real conversations ever since. Important Points When somebody asks for your help, agree first. Nobody gets defensive when they hear yes, and nobody walks away mad. Then you defer. Let's talk about it later when I finish what I'm doing, the work that a flat no never could. Drop the word yet into your answers. Not yet keeps you positive, keeps your momentum, and buys you some real room. Memorable Quotes I lost the weight 20 years ago and never gained it back, but the habit of "I'll start on Monday" has evidently stuck. It's magical. It takes the stress away, and you can use it all day long — on your kids, on your boss, on anybody. Nine times out of ten, they find somebody else, they do it themselves, or the thing never even had to get done. Scott's Three-Step Approach Start with yes right when the ask lands, because nobody gets defensive and nobody argues with an agreeable person. Then defer instead of refusing: let's talk about it later when I finish what I'm doing, and hand the moment back. Then drop the "and," answer "not yet" when they circle back, and let the request quietly solve itself somewhere else. Chapters 0:02 - Two small words that keep your day on track 0:18 - Why I skipped the gym and blamed Monday again 1:24 - The hardest part is that heavy front door 3:25 - What improv class taught me about saying no 4:47 - Agree and defer, then watch them walk away 5:54 - Drop the and, then let the word yet work 8:26 - How this quietly hands your time back to you Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify Email: [email protected] Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices.
