Evidence Mounting that Storming the Capitol was Pre-Planned

As former President Donald Trump’s Tuesday impeachment trial approaches, there is a growing body of evidence in criminal complaints and affidavits that the Jan. 6 Capitol breach had been pre-planned, undercutting the allegation leveled against Trump that he is guilty of “incitement to insurrection.”

An affidavit (pdf) filed in the case against Thomas Caldwell, who is believed to have a leadership in the Oath Keepers group and who faces charges of conspiracy and conspiracy to impede or injure an officer, alleges that Caldwell and others planned parts of the incursion in advance.

“As described more fully herein, CALDWELL planned with DONOVAN CROWL, JESSICA WATKINS, and others known and unknown, to forcibly storm the U.S. Capitol,” the affidavit states.

“Evidence uncovered in the course of the investigation demonstrates that not only did CALDWELL, CROWL, WATKINS, and others conspire to forcibly storm the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021—they communicated with one another in advance of the incursion and planned their attack.”

Meanwhile, the FBI has said it notified other law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Capitol Police, the day before the Capitol incursion about an online message about a “war” and storming the building. The FBI stated on Jan. 12 that the warning was issued through the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the U.S. Capitol Police have members on the task force, The Associated Press reported.

The Washington Post reported that an FBI bulletin described that people had been sharing maps of the Capitol’s tunnels and discussed rallying points to meet up to travel to Washington. The newspaper also reported that the document detailed posts calling for violence, including that “Congress needs to hear glass breaking, doors being kicked in, and blood from their BLM and Pantifa slave soldiers being spilled.”

More Horrific Reports Out of the Xinjiang Region of China

Another shocking report from the BBC came out on February 3 leading politicians from all over the world to call for an UN-led investigation of “crimes against humanity.” [We’re still waiting to hear from Lebron James and anyone else in the NBA about whether or not this is a social justice issue their handlers, I mean, their sponsors, I mean, their owners, -- whether they’re allowed to talk about it.]

BBC’s David Campanale, a noted specialist of human rights issues in China, Matthew Hill, interviewed former detainees and one guard, and heard from scholar Adrian Zenz (Joel Gunter co-authored the subsequent article). They were also able to show video images from inside the camps, filmed by a Bitter Winter reporter who was subsequently arrested. 

Not only did the witnesses interviewed by the BBC ridicule the Chinese propaganda theory that the camps are “vocational schools” rather than jails, they described a horrific system where rape was not occasional but was used systematically to break the Uyghur women’s personal integrity and will.

Gulzira Auelkhan, an ethnic Kazakh who spent 18 months in the camps, told the BBC that she was forced to systematically “remove the clothes [of women detainees]. Tursunay Ziawudun, a woman who escaped from Xinjiang to Kazakhstan after she was released from the camps, and then to the U.S., reported how she and her cellmates were savagely beaten and raped. She was tortured with electric shock and biting, and how some women simply disappeared some nights and never returned.

Qelbinur Sedik, an ethnic Uzbek woman who now lives in exile, went to the camps as a Chinese language teacher. She told the BBC that she befriended a policewoman, who told her that in the camps “the rape has become a culture. It is gang rape and the Chinese police not only rape them but also electrocute them. They are subject to horrific torture.” The screams sometimes echoed throughout the building. I could hear them during lunch and sometimes when I was in class.”

Ziawudun and a former camp guard also offered information on how the “thought reform” process, or deprogramming, of the inmates works. Detainees should listen to propaganda for long hours and memorize books by President Xi Jinping. They are punished if they fail to remember them. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer announced Wednesday that the House Democrats are moving to oust Rep. Greene from her committee assignments for her embrace of QAnon conspiracy theories and violent political rhetoric. The House Rules Committee was meeting Wednesday to address the possible removal from two committees with a vote on the full house floor likely on Thursday.

An NPR story adds to the list of conspiracies: She's denied that a plane hit the Pentagon on Sept. 11; supported the idea that the Parkland school shooting was a "false flag" operation meant to usher in tighter gun laws; seemed to agree that Hillary Clinton was recorded "filleting" a child's face. 

Greene has also "liked" social media posts that called for executing "deep state" FBI agents, or that advocated removing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with "a bullet to the head." Greene supports QAnon and has said Muslims do not belong in government.

“Lockdowns imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic have been an "unfocused overreaction" that failed to protect the poor but have helped the rich, Stanford University Professor of Medicine Dr. Jay Bhattacharya told journalist Megyn Kelly recently.

"I've come to think of it as trickle-down epidemiology. We've used the lockdowns to protect the rich, whereas we essentially expose the — like in California for instance, it's the poor areas that have had the high death rates from COVID." Bhattacharya said during an episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. "The lockdowns haven't protected people living in places where there's high poverty. Minority populations, especially Hispanics, have been hard hit. Fifty percent of people who have had COVID deaths are Hispanic in California."

Bhattacharya is a co-author of The Great Barrington Declaration, a document published in 2020 that calls for the end of COVID-19 lockdowns because of their "devastating effects on short and long-term public health." To date, nearly 41,000 medical doctors and roughly 13,500 medical and public health workers have signed the document.”

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is located west of India, right between Bangladesh (to its east) and Thailand (to its west), with China to its north. It sits on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean.

Troops are patrolling the streets and a night-time curfew is in force, with a one-year state of emergency declared. This is the first military coup against a civilian government in Myanmar since 1962. US President Joe Biden raised the threat of new sanctions, with the UN and UK also condemning the coup. The army alleges the recent landslide election win by Ms Suu Kyi's party was marred by fraud. She urged supporters to "protest against the coup". In a letter written in preparation for her impending detention, she said the military's actions would put the country back under a dictatorship. The military has already announced replacements for a number of ministers. Myanmar, also known as Burma, was ruled by the armed forces until 2011, when democratic reforms led by Aung San Suu Kyi ended military rule. She spent nearly 15 years in detention between 1989 and 2010. She was internationally hailed as a beacon of democracy and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991.

The following are attributes of masks needed to fulfill the requirements of the Order. CDC will update this guidance as needed.

A properly worn mask completely covers the nose and mouth.

Cloth masks should be made with two or more layers of a breathable fabric that is tightly woven (i.e., fabrics that do not let light pass through when held up to a light source).

Mask should be secured to the head with ties, ear loops, or elastic bands that go behind the head. If gaiters are worn, they should have two layers of fabric or be folded to make two layers.

Mask should fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face.

Mask should be a solid piece of material without slits, exhalation valves, or punctures.

The following do not fulfill the requirements of the Order.

Masks worn in a way that does not cover both the mouth and nose

Face shields or goggles (face shields or goggles may be worn to supplement a mask that meets above required attributes)

Scarves, ski masks, balaclavas, or bandannas

Shirt or sweater collars (e.g., turtleneck collars) pulled up over the mouth and nose.

Masks made from loosely woven fabric or that are knitted, i.e., fabrics that let light pass through

Masks made from materials that are hard to breathe through (such as vinyl, plastic or leather)

Masks containing slits, exhalation valves, or punctures

Masks that do not fit properly (large gaps, too loose or too tight)

Remember these are federal offenses to do this wrong.

Soon we will all have government issued masks to wear. This is getting really scary. If you are waiting to take a stand on the second amendment it will be too late. If you don’t fight for the first one the second one is already gone. If they can get you to put on a mask they’ve already got your guts to use your gun. Period.

The Senate Considered Whether Taking Up the Articles of Impeachment Was Constitutional

So the Senate will be going forward with a trial, currently scheduled to begin the week of February 8th. 

Biden Signed Two Executive Orders Thursday

As President Biden noted, the first executive order was directed at restoring elements of Obamacare and Medicare, the second rescinded the Mexico City policy, which prohibits international non-governmental organizations from receiving federal money if they provide abortions, abortion counseling, or referrals. This policy has been instituted and reversed by previous administrations repeatedly. 

And this underlines the impotence of executive orders, or at least their limited effectiveness. 

Another related item is the Hyde Amendment, legislation that has barred the use of federal funds to pay for abortions, except for rape or incest. Since conservatives only want to pay for the murder of a baby if they came into existence as a result of some one else’s crime. Because we should definitely punish innocent babies for the crimes of their parents. 

The Hyde Amendment was originally passed in 1976, and I’m not sure if it included those exceptions, but a “life of the mother” exception was added in the version in force from 1981 to 1993, and then the version Bill Clinton signed added the rape and incest clauses. 

It passed the House in 1976 with a 312-93 vote. Contrast that with the 2016 Democrat platform including explicit call to repeal the Hyde Amendment. In 2017, the House passed HR 7 attempting to make the Hyde Amendment permanent, but it failed to pass a Republican majority Senate.

As disrn news pointed out, as recently as 1994, Biden boasted that he had upheld the Hyde Amendment, voting against federal funding of abortions no fewer than 50 times. However, you may remember that during the recent presidential compaign, Biden reversed his position, claiming that circumstances have changed. 

So with the Hyde Amendment presumably on the chopping block: A Republican Study Committee, led by Congressman Jim Banks of Indiana, has sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), notifying them that the committee has pledged to unanimously and rigorously defend the historic Hyde Amendment.

President Trump Has Opened The Office of the Former President

Former President Donald Trump has opened an office to “advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda” of his administration, according to a statement released Monday night.

The letterhead on the statement indicated that the office will operate out of Palm Beach, where Trump moved after leaving the White House last week. According to the statement, the “office will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism.”

Later, in a statement released by the Save America leadership political action committee he formed after the election, Trump endorsed his former press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, for governor of Arkansas. She announced that she was running on Monday.

Chrome Artistic Barber in St. Catharines is cutting hair again after they said they revamped their salon to become a production and film studio. 

Owner Alicia Hirter set up cameras, lights and microphones in her shop and said people who come in for haircuts are now auditioning for a part in a future TV show or podcast. 

Under Ontario's provincial lockdown laws, which came into effect on Dec. 26, film and television productions are allowed to continue operating.

"We're not offering haircut appointments, we're offering full auditions," Hirter told CTV News Toronto on Thursday. 

Hirter said when guests arrive for their appointment, they must sign a talent release form and undergo a COVID-19 screening test. Guests are also required to wash their hands when arriving. 

She said that clients are not required to wear masks while receiving their haircut because the government rules say performers are exempt.

Hirter said she needed to keep her business, which she has operated for 18 years, open because she could not survive another extended closure.

"I'm a single mom, I’m not about to move into low income property with my son,” she said. “As a business owner and a mother, I had to make my own call … I’m not a criminal.” 

She said she's also furious that big-box stores in the province are allowed to continue operating when her business should have closed.

Grocery store workers in Seattle should soon get an extra $4 an hour for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic, as the Seattle City Council approved legislation Monday requiring large grocers to immediately start offering hazard pay.

The legislation, introduced just last week, passed 8-0 Monday, clearing a requirement that it receive a three-quarter supermajority in order to go into effect immediately. Mayor Jenny Durkan called the policy “a strong step forward in Seattle’s recovery.”

The new requirement applies to grocery companies with more than 500 employees worldwide and to stores larger than 10,000 square feet. It does not apply to convenience stores or farmers markets.

Covered businesses will have to pay their retail employees $4 an hour on top of the pay they currently receive as long as the city’s coronavirus civil emergency, first declared in early March of last year, remains in effect. The legislation says the City Council intends to reconsider the policy after four months, but that is nonbinding.

Hank Aaron finished his career with 755 homeruns and over 2297 RBIs. Aaron played in the majors for 23 years from 1954 to 1976. He played for the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves and finished his career with the Milwaukee Brewers. He lost the homerun title to Barry Bonds, he still holds the RBI record.

Larry King Has Died at 87

Larry King, the Brooklyn-bred man who became cable TV’s most well-known talk show host, died Saturday. He was 87.

"For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television and digital media, Larry’s many thousands of interviews, awards, and global acclaim stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster," the company said.

Over the course of more than five decades in radio and TV broadcasting, half of it spent hosting CNN’s "Larry King Live," and by his count, he interviewed more than 60,000 subjects, and when his run on cable ended in 2010, he segued to the internet with "Larry King Now," a daily talk show on Hulu from Ora TV, and became an active presence on Twitter. 

Along with his trademark suspenders, King was known for his live interviews and viewer call-in segments. He never seemed to run out of questions.

"I don’t even understand it myself," he told Toronto’s Globe & Mail in 2003. "It’s incessant with me. Who, what, where, when, why, never leaves me. I’m just insatiably curious, which helps in my job. I’m the kind of person you don’t want to sit next to on an airplane. I’ll drive you nuts!"

He was married 8 times to 7 women – apparently he drove them nuts too.
