Georgia Senate Race

Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff has won his Senate runoff election. In the other race, the Rev. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, defeated Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler.

With the two Democratic victories, the Senate will have a 50-50 seat split between the parties. But the vice president casts tie-breaking votes, and that will be Democrat Kamala Harris.

Democrats already control the House, and adding the Senate will make it more difficult for Republicans to block Biden’s agenda, along with his Cabinet picks and judicial nominations.

Protestors stormed the capital building following Trump’s Rally speech, breaching several barriers and causing a halt to the Electoral College certification vote. VP Pence and congress were evacuated as protestors surged into the capital building, breaking into offices, with reports of at least one protestor shot by Federal police.

Washington DC Mayor declared a 6pm to 6am curfew, and President Trump called in the National Guard.

Pictures surfaced of protestors in congressional offices and in the chambers, one particular ripe one had a guy in fur cap with bull horns presiding over an empty House chamber. Pictures quickly surfaced linking the same guy to an Arizona Black Lives Matter rally in June. No doubt some of Trump’s supporters thought that the revolution had begun, and they are fools and criminals, but what are the chances that antifa and other rabble rousers are involved in this? Oh, I’d say very high. And eye witnesses 

President Trump tweeted out messages asking for people to stay peaceful, to respect law enforcement – no violence. And then issued a brief video statement urging people who are upset about the election results to go home in peace.

U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver said he was caught off guard by the negative response after he ended his opening prayer on the first day of the new Congress by saying, “Amen and A-woman.”

Cleaver, a United Methodist minister and former mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, is in his ninth term in Congress.

Tesla More Valuable Than Top 7 Auto Makers Combined

Despite turning out only 500,000 vehicles this year, electric auto company Tesla is now valued higher than the other seven top automakers in the world combined and has become the largest entrant to the S&P 500.

The massive profitability of Tesla right now appears to be far less about performance and far more about the general public's view of Tesla owner Elon Musk as a visionary.

"Tesla shares are, in our view and by virtually every conventional metric, not only overvalued, but dramatically so," according to JP Morgan analyst Ryan Brinkman.

Still, the speculation may end up well placed given that automotive industry experts anticipate a "golden age of elective vehicles" on the horizon.

"Many of the naysayers are probably the same individuals that thought LeBron wasn't going to be a good basketball player 15 years ago," said Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives.

Ives estimates that the market for electric vehicles will catapult from the current 3% of total auto sales to 10% in just four years.

Jeffrey Tucker writes: I’m not sick so why should I have to be locked down? Why are we quarantining the healthy? And what possibly could it mean, in any case, to be sick without symptoms? Why are half the PCR-positive tests assigned to people who otherwise seem to be perfectly fine? 

All these valid questions came to be answered by this one phrase: asymptomatic spread. You might not feel sick. You might not ever have symptoms from SARS-CoV-2. Still, you could be an even worse super spreader without knowing it, infecting people all around you who will carry it to people who will die from the disease. This was also the moment when, subtly and imperceptibly, we were being asked to think of our fellow citizens not as human beings with dignity and rights but pathogen-carrying disease vectors. We had to be masked, all of us, because we are secretly filthy and unclean: we cannot be allowed to breath near others, so even with a mask we must stay 6 feet away. 

On June 7, Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, head of the WHO’s emerging diseases and zoonosis unit, told a press conference that from the known research, asymptomatic spread was “very rare.” “From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual.” She added for emphasis: “It’s very rare.”

There was the predictably pro-lockdown mainstream media which decried her heresy. The cry was so loud that the WHO immediately started walking back the claim, mostly with hints and suggestions that didn’t say untrue things but did not repudiate the initial claim either: “There is much to be answered on this. There is much that is unknown. It’s clear that both symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals are part of the transmission cycle. The question is what is the relative contribution of each group to the overall number of cases.”

A California restaurant featured in a widely circulated video filed a lawsuit Sunday against Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and other public officials who have imposed shutdowns on outdoor dining in an effort to address COVID-19 positivity rates.

Angela Marsden, the owner of Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill in Sherman Oaks, California, was featured in a video earlier this month where she blasted the state for closing down her outdoor dining patio while allowing a film crew to set up a dining area next to her restaurant.

The suit argues that the different standards used for closures have "nothing to do with science and data," but instead are based on state officials "supporting their campaign donors at the expense of small businesses." It further alleged that Newsom allowed an unelected State Public Health Officer to decide which businesses must close without any legislative input.

CDC: U.S. overdoses hit record 81,230 in single year

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported a new record in drug overdose deaths in the year ending May 2020 at 81,230 overdoses.

The report said the increase in overdoses was "driven by synthetic opioids before and during the COVID-19 pandemic." The largest increase in overdoses was recorded from March 2020 to May 2020, and the largest percentage increases occurred in the western United States.

A record 621 people died of drug overdoses in San Francisco so far this year, a staggering number that far outpaces the 173 deaths from COVID-19 the city has seen thus far.

The crisis fueled by the powerful painkiller fentanyl could have been far worse if it wasn’t for the nearly 3,000 times Narcan was used from January to the beginning of November to save someone from the brink of death, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday.

Last year, 441 people died of drug overdoses — a 70% increase from 2018 — and 2,610 potential overdoses were prevented by Narcan, a medication commonly sprayed up the nose to reverse an opioid overdose, according to data from the city Medical Examiner’s office and the DOPE Project.

Now the Canadian Police are Arresting Kids For Ice Skating Outside

Obviously you can’t see the video, but you can click on the link in the show notes available in the Fight Laugh Feast App. Two female cops in Calgary, Alberta attempt to arrest a young man, and when they are unable to pull him to the ground they start threatening to tazer him. It should be noted that he does not resist with any force at all, he just pulls away.

Eventually, the two female cops were able to arrest the young man, but there are multiple layers worth considering here. The first is obviously the question of why COVID 19 is a threat for people ice skating outside. The second is the hilarity of having two female cops trying to arrest one young man. This young man was respectful and did not hardly resist at all, just imagine an actual violent criminal. And third, if Canadians don’t stand up for their right to play hockey, I’m pretty sure they won’t stand up for anything. And the thing is there were a bunch of men stand around watching these two women mistreat this young man. And if the men of Canada don’t start standing up to this tyranny, this is just a parable of what’s coming down the pike. 

Scientists Examine Whether Vaccine is Effective with New Coronavirus Variant

Scientists at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research expect to know in the next few days if there's a concern that the coronavirus vaccines might not work against a mutated variant of the virus that's rapidly spreading in parts of England, according to the institute's top vaccine researcher. 

While there's always a worry that a vaccine won't work if a virus mutates significantly, the Walter Reed scientists still expect the vaccine will be effective against this new variant, said Dr. Nelson Michael, director of the Center for Infectious Diseases Research at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. 

"It stands to reason that this mutation isn't a threat, but you never know. We still have to be diligent and continue to look," Michael said.

A Pentagon statement Monday indicated it used the software. It said it had “issued guidance and directives to protect” its networks. It would not say — for “operational security reasons” — whether any of its systems may have been hacked.

Paris Mayor Fined for Hiring Too Many Women

The city government of Paris has been dealt an unlikely punishment: a fine of 90,000 euros, equivalent to $110,000, for appointing too many women to senior positions and breaking France’s gender-equality rules.

The offense dates back to 2018, when Mayor Anne Hidalgo appointed 11 women and five men to her senior team at a time when administrations around the world were trying to increase female representation in governments. But with 69% of the positions going to women and 31% to men, Paris broke national government rules to promote equality, which require that at least 40% of new positions should be allocated to each gender.

Ms. Hidalgo told a meeting of the city council on Tuesday that the appointments helped give women a louder voice in government in France and, with tongue in cheek, said she was delighted to pay the fine.

Economists Uma Kambhampati at Reading University in England and Supriya Garikipati at the University of Liverpool surveyed 194 countries and found that by mid-May, women leaders locked down their economies sooner and their countries suffered half as many Covid-19-related deaths on average as those led by men. However, this might in part be because women tend to lead left-leaning administrations that have been prepared to take more decisive state action to slow the spread of the virus.

FDA Says Watch Out For Bell’s Palsy with the COVID Vaccines

As COVID-19 vaccines are being rushed to distribution sites all over the country, staff at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is cautioning doctors and patients to watch closely for the manifestation of Bell's palsy in recipients.

The FDA staff stopped well short of calling the condition – which results in half the patient's face to droop and sag – a side effect. But after a handful of patients that played a part in the vaccine trial program developed the condition, health officials said it bears watching.

The occurrence of the condition was extremely rare among trial participants, at four in 30,000 for the Moderna vaccine and four in 43,000 for the Pfizer vaccine.

From the Free Beacon: The San Francisco Unified School District has decided to rename an elementary school named after California Democratic senator Dianne Feinstein, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Dianne Feinstein Elementary School is 1 of 44 schools that will be renamed because the district deemed their namesakes "inappropriate" in October. Feinstein's cancellable offense was raising a Confederate flag in front of San Francisco City Hall while serving as mayor in 1984.

The district decided to reevaluate its school names following a summer of racial-justice protests. Among the schools it plans to rename are those whose namesakes owned slaves, perpetuated human-rights abuses, or oppressed minorities, women, and the LGBT community.

A 1984 copy of Workers Vanguard reported that "Dixie" Feinstein raised a Confederate flag over the San Francisco Civic Center and replaced the flag after racial-justice protesters tore it down.

Schools named after inventor Thomas Edison and Presidents George Washington, Herbert Hoover, and Abraham Lincoln will also be renamed. According to the district, Lincoln, who emancipated slaves, did not demonstrate that "black lives mattered to him."

Other schools and local governments across the country have considered renaming buildings whose namesakes they deem problematic. Last week, a Virginia school district decided to rename schools named after President Thomas Jefferson and Founding Father George Mason, an action they called a "necessary part of our equity work." And Washington, D.C., mayor Muriel Bowser (D.) createda coalition that reviewed the names of buildings and landmarks and recommended renaming the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument.

An Aquaintance Jerry Bowyer pushes back on claims that Dominion is owned by a Chinese company. After doing some research he writes, “UBS, the giant Swiss multinational did put some money into Staple Street, a private equity fund, which owns Dominion. But neither Staple Street (the actual owner of Dominion) nor UBS is a Chinese company. What seemed to have happened is that someone confused UBS Securities LLC, with UBS Securities Co., Ltd.. The former invested in Staple Street, not the latter. The latter is the bank with the deep Chinese ties.”

Things have evolved and some of the criticism is legitimate. For instance, it is correct to point out that the securities sold by Staple Street Capital went to UBS Securities Co., LLC. This is UBS’ New York affiliate, not the UBS Securities Co., Ltd. that is openly affiliated with the Chinese communist, and which we incorrectly cited as the purchaser.

On the other hand, some of this evolution is in a far more frightening direction. It turns out that  three out of four board members of USB Securities Co. LLC are Chinese according to NTD.com.

When that opinion began engendering criticism online, Jones responded by accusing those who disagree with being incapable of understanding the complex ideas she was espousing.

Recall effort against California Gov. Gavin Newsom already has half the needed signatures

Gavin Newsom for his COVID-19 measures announced Monday that they have gathered half of the necessary 1.5 million signatures in order to trigger the special election. Electoral College Voted Monday

The meeting of electors is the next major step in the Electoral College process to affirm the general election results. Electors are required by law to vote for president and vice president on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December, which this year was yesterday, Monday, December 14. It takes 270 electoral votes of the 538 available to become president. Joe Biden was certified the winner in 25 states and the District of Columbia, accounting for 306 electoral votes. Donald Trump was certified the winner in 25 states with a total of 232 electoral votes.

Attorney General Bill Barr Resigns

Trump tweeted: “Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job! As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family...”

The president and Mr. Barr had grown distant more recently, with Mr. Trump fuming over a number of actions his attorney general took in the lead-up to the election and afterward, including the disclosure of extensive efforts that the nation’s top law-enforcement official made for months to shield federal investigations into Hunter Biden from public view during the heated election campaign.

Mr. Barr said in a resignation letter that he would leave Dec. 23 and was “proud to have played a role in the many successes and unprecedented achievements you have delivered for the American people.”

In a glowing letter, dated Monday, Mr. Barr said he gave Mr. Trump an update on the Justice Department’s review of voter-fraud allegations in the 2020 election and said those allegations “will continue to be pursued.”

Florida Trying Reform COVID Testing?

COVID testing labs never tell doctors or patients how the PCR test is run – this is the way the virus is directly detected. [1] This means the number of cycles is a secret.

A cycle is a step up in amplification of the tissue sample taken from the patient.

As even Tony Fauci has asserted, tests run at 35 cycles or above are useless. [1] [2] They’re also misleading. The results tend to be positive, meaning the patient is “infected with the virus.” But this is false.

However, as I’ve also reported, the CDC and the FDA recommend that the test should be run at up to 40 cycles. [1] [3] This is a direct hustle. It ensures false positives and higher COVID case numbers—used as justification for lockdowns.

Now, the state of Florida is doing something unheard of. It’s demanding that labs report the “cycle threshold” for every test they run.

Here is the relevant wording in a release from the Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, and the state Department of Health, dated December 3, 2020 [4]:
