We had a HUGE July between $BOIL, $TQQQ and many other recommendations. Let's hope August is just as good.
I go over a quote that I heard about trading and how you should lear.
Thanks to the supporter’s and remember there’s a tip button on Twitter as well. https://anchor.fm/dailystockpick/support
148 s&p 500 companies reporting this week including energy companies
Monday $DVN $MOS $SPG $FANG
Tuesday $UBER $AMD $CAT
Wednesday $MRNA
Thursday $COP $LNG
Friday $DKNG
3 for Willy.
$MOS - with food costs going up. But we’ve had a bumper crop and Putin let grain come out of Ukraine so it’s clear he just wants to use energy as his leverage tool against Europe and the world
$Lthm Tuesday earnings - lithium… is this a good one?
$SFM earnings on Thursday - look at Walmart saying they saw an increase in customers going to them for groceries… also look at Krogers… I love sprouts but groceries are such a low margin business that I think the mission is better than the business.
Tom
$GSL analysts think $30
Shipping $dac $nmm $gsl
$Pbr - from Tom - big dividend - 30%
Lithium $pll and $alb

The key point from the inflation reading is that the economy is weakening much faster than anyone expected. That’s the key point to the fact the fed may not need to raise as fast as once thought.
Mohammad Alerian thinks the Fed is going to be behind
$Intc - just an extremely ugly quarter and most likely the worst quarter since it’s been a company … gelsinger the ceo hasn’t turned things around and is paid a fortune for this? How long is his runway? They gave horrible guidance ..: guy adomi quote “I don’t know what the hell they are doing .. margins at 9% vs street looking at 18% … they couldn’t intentionally do worse”
$Apple - not as bad as expected … if we open above $160 we are going to $180 - they see inflation and they are still hiring but on a deliberate basis … apple is above its 200 day moving average
$Amzn - way up on earnings and says demand increases unlike Walmart so it looks much different - if we open above $140 that is going to mean a good run here
$Roku way down near $60 - it’s up slightly but they are expecting advertising to reduce and does this become a takeover but it’s mainly hardware … who wants that?
$Tqqq up at $32 so you’ve got incredible week so far
$Kold had a big day
$Run and other solar stocks were just killing it with the manchin agreement
$Plug up 20%
$Tsla up with the new spending bill including ev credits without the Union provision
$Qcom should go up if apple is seeing increased iPhone sales
$Msft way up
$Spg - remember this fav? It’s at $107
$Siga up 20% again
This week reminds me of what my fidelity trading coach said to me and I have written down “trash turns quick so be prepared”
$Fcx - up nicely
$Rio up above $60 / commodities are rising
Look at $gold
$F and $flng
$Wec
$Sgml and $nio
$Apph
$UPRO
$SPXU
$TQQQ
$SARK
$Tblt short squeeze
$Siga crazy good
$Govx
$Plug $fcel $sunw $run $spwr $nova $SEDG - manchin votes yes and they are calling it anti inflation act … thr problem is it’s spending … I don’t agree with it but remember … trade it
$ENPH
$Baba getting crushed
$Cvx up 4%with $11.6 billion profit… $5.82 per share… huge
$Xom up as well… 2% up on the news
Get ready for $DVN $Oxy and $fang
Oil is up on supply issues
$Gety images way up
Kind of agree with bill Ackman on this market …. If we see inflation even close in the next month without a fed meeting … we will see the crash I assumed happens … but until then … trade the trend - and FYI- Ackman has Covid
$Ethe
$Gs
$EPD - great dividend
Nat gas plays emember - $BOIL - $CRK and $VET are also $LNG plays
$MPLX have huge dividends
$EGLE - pivot at $70
$GNK - pivot at $26
$GRIN pivot at $26
Be forewarned - the volume goes way up about 5 min in. I had a microphone problem and had to raise the gain.
Crazy rally after Powell said no recession
Honestly - I didn’t see this at all but $tqqq had confirmation all day … I was not trading but again - this is once in a lifetime to get Google at these prices
Specific to growth and tech
Remember that June rally reversed next day
$Qcom beat but guidance down so it lost a little after hours - qualcom is expanding to automotive
$Meta missed earnings on top and bottom- Sheryl Sandburg leaving is a very clear sign things are not going right - guidance coming in lighter as well
$F beat earnings - hype play
Jeffrey gundlach who was a crazy bear has now become a bull and said the fed can do this and we may be ready to say from here you will be up at the end of thr year … but the s&p crossed 4000 so personally I don’t know
He thinks the year will end at 3% fed rate … we are at 2.25% right now
Utility $SO beat earnings
Spirit airlines ($SAVE) terminated deal with frontier … activision blizzard still on and Twitter … and jet blue will pay $33 per share to shareholders of save (spirit)
$AAPL hires lambo exec for obvious apple car
$AMZN - not worth the risk of buying before earnings
$BOIL $CRK $VET $LNG - all great Natural Gas plays
$DVN - over $60 before earnings
$OXY - over $60
$XOM and $CVX have earnings tomorrow - this should be huge
Ftx launched stock trading …. They are charging a trade % so it’s not free trades
$MCD - perfect example of how to invest with my story of $1 drinks
$KO - investment - not a trade - and a very good one
$SNOW - still like this
$MU - you've gotten your 10% on this trade.
$AMZN and $MSFT - the traders on CNBC make good points - probably not good to hold short term - it’s going to be tough because of the multiples - but if you are investing for more than a year - putting up with short term volatility is your best bet
Josh Brown buys $LNG - above $150 is a breakout - he talked about moving LNG over to Europe. We are producing it at $6 and LNG is best positioned to move it over there.
He said it’s a supply/demand play - and Cheniere is who fixes the log jam
Remember - $BOIL - $CRK and $VET are also nat gas plays
$CME - crazy good quarter - $9.30 per share - restaurant sales up 10% ….they are doing incredible with horrifically horrible burritos. I’m not a fan
$V - beat - down 2% but nothing that says buy the stock
$GOOG missed by 6% but that was priced in
$MSFT missed - there’s nothing good in the stock that says buy it now - but good for long term
Everything in the market is just blah - there’s nothing that says you have to trade…be patient
With $AMZN - wait to see what they say and THEN trade it…no reason to chance things
$META - I like it since it’s been down - but again - no need to rush in
$AAPL - got a new iPhone - I’m the moron that buys right before the new one comes out and pays full price
$BA missed earnings but cash flow is better than expected so the stock is up 4% in pre market
Elliot who built a position in pins has now gotten into to $PYPL
Nat gas is up to $60 in Europe…
$RIO profit falls and cuts guidance on weak sales of iron ore - no reason to keep watching this
$ENPH up 10% on strong earnings
VIX at 24 so $UVXY is doing poorly - wants to be at 30
Fed decision today
$TQQQ way up in pre market
Your plays for day trading
$UPRO - Bull S&P
$SPXU - Bear S&P
$TQQQ - Bull Nasdaq
$SQQQ - Bear Nasdaq
$SARK - Bear for high multiple growth
$UVXY - when the VIX rises - typically on large down days
$UNH
$QCOM
$GOOG
$META
$AAPL
$AMZN
$XOM
$CVX
$Pxd
$TSLA
$RIO
$NVDA
$BOIL
$UCO
$LNG - $crk $vet may be better
$COST
NFL announced they launched NFL plus - but Goodell has said SUnday ticket is moving to an app service and apple is the leader - this will mark the end of linear TV service.
$UPRO
$SPXU
$TQQQ
$SARK
$IWM from Trendspider is trending on the 50day EMA - IWM is a small cap ETF
$Wmt way down after hours dragging down target kohls and amazon with it. Walmart said it now anticipates adjusted earnings per share for the second quarter and full year to decline around 8% to 9% and 11% to 13%, respectively. It had previously expected them to be flat to up slightly for the second quarter and to drop by 1% for the full year.
Walmart stock drop is most in 1 day in over 20 years
inflation is causing shoppers to spend more on necessities like food and less on items like clothing and electronics
This may be an opportunity to buy quality retailers on the dip like $cost $m and imo $TGT may be a buy because it might be a Walmart problem …target may have already been through this
$Tslq - should have mentioned yesterday when it was up so much
Oil up 2% again
Russia is going to slow nat gas flow to 20% …. That’s a 50% drop so Putin is def going to shut this off before winter
Dutch contracts on future are $53 per mega watt and we are paying $8
Fed kicks off meeting today and tomorrow is their decision
John Oliver show is a master class on inflation
Politically the big story is the White House is trying to change the definition of a recession … they are trying to say there’s not one because the consumer thinking there’s a recession could make the last leg fall which would drive us in to a recession with people just thinking we may be in or will have one
$Fcx up again
Redfin report says 32% want to move to cities
Top picks Miami Tampa Phoenix Sacramento Las Vegas Cape Coral San Diego
Energy is going to be big because of air conditioning because all these cities are hot
$Gs is still up … you should have made your 10% on this
$Gm misses earnings rather big … this is a company that can’t do things right at all - chip shortage and China lockdowns are what they blame … they pre announced this a few weeks ago - profit margin was 8% vs 10% last year
$Gm is saying their guidance is the same … so no take down of targets or ev estimates. 1 million ev sales in 2025
Only reason to own the stock is for cruise self driving division
$Ups beats big - confirms guidance and increases share repurchase - they are bettering the operations of thr business
$V tonight might be interesting for the economy
$Msft and $GOOG tonight … I like both for long term
$Ge better earnings than expected and down big to start and then it came back
$Rdbx has taken off again
$Revb is crashing
$Siga - monkeypx is big
$Govx is also up big
$Drv - shorting real estate
$KO beats earnings and things are positive
Sell $Oxy over $60
SCANS
$KO
$UNH
$AMGN
$PFE
$KDP - right before earnings
I go over some of the earnings this week:
Tuesday - $GOOG and $MSFT
Wednesday - $QCOM and $META
Thursday - $AAPL and $AMZN
Friday - $XOM and $CVX
Commodities seem to be turning around and $FXC and $RIO seem to be on an uptrend
$SNAP - was it a Snap issue or an overall ad downturn? Did $meta figure this out in Q1 and is that all priced in already?
$KMI - interesting safe 6.7% yield in the energy industry.
$LNG is the best opportunity in the nat gas trade. It's going to continue higher because in the US it's selling at $8 and Europe it's $50 - they will export and make a fortune.
$RevB - up 100% in premarket
$TSLA - crazy that it's this high - but there are reasons - upcoming split and opening chargers up to all EV's
$TQQQ - up at $30 - take your 10% and move if you've had it - I just wonder if 1 earnings report from the big 4's brings this down - it's triple levered
$SIGA - monkeypox trade
$NIO - great trade - just wonder if it's worth the risk with the China government
$SGML - wow - great buy and hold for Lithium - but really good trade with the algo too
$ZIM - at $46
I ramble on quite a bit with EU political issues which should drive energy (both oil and specifically nat gas) up.
I also ramble on about how the Nasdaq is down further than the Dow and S&P so the Nasdaq over the last month has been the one bouncing up.
Some stocks I like now
$PINS - private equity getting involved
$META
$QCOM - wow this has taken off from $124 where I didn't think it would stay
$TSLA - my pivot on this remains $700 - it's running today and I sold 1/2 my lot a few weeks ago at $750, but I think it's going back under $700 soon.
$UNH - buy under $500 - it'll go under that
$COST - it's been quite a run - I like this stock because the consumer is not weak
$M - I like this one still
$FCX - looks weak, but could it turn around if copper rises?
$SHOP - earnings are coming up - it's run 10%
$NEM $TDOC - I go over these for the listener Willy who left me a voice message on Anchor.
$FDX - I like it as a turn around, but I think there are more exciting places to put your money
$AA - beat on earnings
$CCL - $1B stock offering - diluting shares - never good and other travel stocks will suffer
$UAL - weak guidance on crappy service which they said will continue. $AAL said the same exact things - travel stocks are down
$CLF - I still like this one - earnings are coming out later
$DVN $OXY $FANG $CVX $XOM $MPLX - I still like energy on it's weakness - supply is just not going to increase
$T - beat on earnings, but weak guidance - stock going WAY down. $VZ earnings tomorrow - may be an opportunity and I like Verizon more than ATT.
CROSS UPS:
$GOOG $GOOGL
$ARKG
$DDOG
$OKTA
Continue to trade $SQQQ $TQQQ $BOIL $KOLD $UCO $SCO $SPXU
The German govt is telling the EU they will have to ration nat gas. This is bullish for $BOIL. Nord Stream pipeline getting turned up now.
$NFLX - if you listened and took the trade - you made 10%. It's coming back down to earth now.
China has warned of Pelosi visit - this is bad.
$GS - you have your 10% by now - you're welcome
$GOLD - hasn't moved, but it's still oversold. Since it's a commodity - you should worry if we have a recession ahead.
$DRV - you are out in the algo because of yesterday's big day up. I still hold that this has $50 in it though at some point.
$SPXU $SQQQ $TQQQ $UCO $SCO $BOIL $KOLD - watch the trend on charts to trade these. It's too hard to determine daily trend right now.
Cross ups:
$ARKK
$ETSY
$OXY
$ORCL
$UPS
$T
$DIS - I like this here - under $100 buy - over $100 sell for your profits
$DVN $XOM $CVX $MPLX $FANG - love the oils still
$CALM - egg producer - not sure of their ethics but I will look in to it. Big earnings this year though.
Thank you to all the listeners, reviewers and especially the supporters of the podcast. I love recording these and the feedback you give so I am humbly saying thank you.

I talk about how the S&P is now trading under it's 50 day moving average for 60 days in a row - not seen since 2008. So we are in a prolonged downturn.
$TWTR - lawsuit about the timing of the lawsuit with Elon happens today
$TSLA - triangle pattern - danger may be ahead - or it's a pop - but I would be leaning towards danger. Don't be afraid of missing out - just stay away until we have a direction from earnings.
$AAPL - tanked the market today and showed their hand on earnings IMO. They will slow hiring and spending in 2023. I think them, $IBM $JNJ earnings will all focus on the strong dollar as a weakness in guidance.
$BOIL - slight pullback - but nat gas is still strong.
$UCO will pull back on the daily - but it's still strong.
$TQQQ may be up today - but I do think $SQQQ is your play for a weekly basis.
$NFLX - it's a coin toss but the options market is indicating a 15% move up or down in the stock with earnings. They have enacted a password sharing fee in South America so this may help revenue, but won't help with increasing subs. $NFLX and $ROKU become targets at some point for a larger merger (think $CMCSA or $AAPL)
$IBM - down on free cash flow disappointment
$ETHE way up - almost 30%
$BOIL - up 75% with the algo buy in at $43
Single stock ETF's - $TSLQ $NVDS $PYPT $PYPS - interesting but nothing I would trade right now.
Tom Lee was on CNBC Friday and said "Don't sell the rally". I'm not sure it's going to be that strong here, but earnings seem to be good.
Covid is back in the news so keep an eye on $MRNA - it's strong now - but look for pullbacks
$C was a great call on Friday way up. Still trading at about half of book value - so it's still got room to run.
$BAC earnings - buy under $40 - sell over $40
$XLV $UNH $WGA $CVS - I go over these - but healthcare is a strong sector
$UCO - back up - oil is going to be strong here. Remember oil is tied to $DVN $OXY $CVX $XOM $FANG
$BOIL has been CRAZY - $KOLD had a great run - now time for Nat Gas to rise in price.
$COST - great retailer - buy under $500 - sell over - $M is a great retailer with earnings coming up
$AAPL - great run of recent. It's strong heading in to earnings
$NFLX - careful with this one but it might be worth buying before earnings tomorrow.
$TQQQ has been a great trade - I've day traded it. My day trade for a strong market is $TQQQ - for weak markets continue to look at $SPXU $SQQQ $UVXY
$TSLA - under $700 buy - over - sell - upgraded to a buy at $1k price target and Deutche Bank says buy before earnings on Wednesday
$TWTR - I like the risk going in to the court case
$ORCL - strong steady tech between $70 and $90
$CLF - close to $15 again - I like it heading in to earnings but costs could kill this
$OXY - is Buffett going to take this private?
$GOEV - hype play
$GS - should have gotten it under $300 at book value
$NVDA - always a good time to buy for long term
$GOOG - split went through - 20-1 - look for short term pop
