The Texas Women are back in the final weekend of the tournament, hoping to get over the hump that has kept Vic Scahefer from the Promised Land. They have been dominant through the first two weeks, but will face one of the most stacked teams in the country in the semifinal round, the UCLA Bruins.
The Texas men didn't make it out of the second weekend, but went out with a competitive game and changed the narrative on a season that frustrated some.

The Texas Longhorns are one of just four schools with both the men's and women's team represented in the Sweet 16, although they took different paths to get there.
The men needed a buzzer-beater in the First Four, before picking up two decisive wins over BYU and Gonzaga to advance to the second weekend of the tournament. Now they face a Purdue squad with a pair of double-digit wins under its belt in the opening weekend.
Conversely, the Texas women faced no trouble in the first round, propelled by the excellence of Madi Booker and Rori Harmon. They held serve at Moody Center and now travel to Fort Worth to close out the regional as the top seed.

The Texas Longhorns men's basketball team managed to find its way into the NCAA Tournament, but they still need to win a game to find its way into the field of 64. They will face off against the NC State Wolfpack, a team they beat at the start of the season in the Maui Invitational. Can they depend on the offense they had early in the season, or will they crash out in the First Four?
Conversely, the Texas women locked up a No. 1 seed and actually await the winner of a First Four matchup. They have an opportunity to play the first two weeks of the tournament in the state of Texas, hosting the first weekend and then travelling to Fort Worth for the second set of games.

That’s now 3 consecutive wins to end the regular season to gain a bit of momentum. UH finished off a season sweep of Baylor, 77-64 at home, coupled with a workman-like 82-75 win at Oklahoma St this past week. But more importantly, the team has solidified the bench heading into the postseason. Chase McCarty and Mercy Miller have established their roles, along with Kalifa Sakho, in the 8-man rotation. Now it’s post-season play in the XII tourney as a warm-up for March Madness. The stakes are high, and the Cougars can lock up a No. 2 seed and a second weekend in Houston is within sight. The team is now 26-5, 14-4, and #2 in the XII, & 5 in the AP poll.
Please have a listen as the 3 Old Men break down the 2 games vs. Baylor & Oklahoma St., preview the Big 12 Tournament, and share their thoughts on preparations for March Madness. The team is peaking at the right time before post-season play begins.
