We live on an island populated by absolute legends, and sometimes, we’re lucky enough to get to chat to some of them on Dermot and Dave.

Whether it’s people saving sheep who have fallen off cliffs, a cat found by a medium, or a bride who had her wedding reception in the boot of her car, there’s always a great story to be found.

Dudley Tal Stokes, is a 4 x Olympian and the original Jamaican Bobsleigh Captain and Driver for the 1988 Winter Olympics, the inspiration behind the movie 'Cool Runnings'.

Dudley joined Dermot and Dave to chat about his quest to try and create a successful Bobsleigh team in Jamaica. Dudley also shared his feelings on Cool Runnings, which is ''starting to grow'' on him.

Dudley is now a motivational speaker and he spoke about New Year motivations and why 'sport' can help you in many ways - not just physically but mentally as well.

We hope Sam wont be doing squats and pull ups on Christmas Day but who knows, maybe that’s what it takes to earn the title of Irelands Fittest Man!

Sam Stewart from Dublin is the only athlete in the republic to compete at the CrossFit Games this year and he joined Dermot and Dave to chat about his 2021 and how he got the title, the Fittest Man in Ireland.

She's a multi-hyphenate. A chawwwwwwklit seller, a best-selling author and of course, a chart topping singer!

But, our Noni hasn't forgotten her Limerick roots, and when there's a good deed that needs to be recognised, you can be sure she'll be on hand!

Nine year old Maddison Foley had been up since 4am helping her Dad, and she joined Noni and Dermot and Dave to chat about her Christmas plans.

From sitting down, reading books and milling chocolate to something called Krampus, there's a lot of fascinating festive traditions around the world.

In Dave's World, Dave took us on a whistle-stop tour of some of the most interesting, and unique, things done to celebrate Christmas in different countries!

Two years ago, John Upton’s life changed in a matter of minutes. Having come home from work with a headache, within a matter of hours, he was being rushed to Dublin for specialist treatment for a clot on his brain stem.

Since that day in December 2019, John has been on a long road. He underwent a number of life-saving procedures, and now has limited mobility and requires a wheelchair.

John has been in specialist residential care away from his family since then.

In April, we first met John’s other half Caroline and family friend Seamus, who told us of their campaign to ‘Bring John Home’.

On December 20th 2021, John finally did come home, just in time for Christmas.

Caroline and Seamus joined Dermot and Dave to fill them in on the latest.

It’s busy, it’s stressful, it’s full of people in panic mode, but there’s something uniquely magical about visiting a toy shop at Christmas.

A new documentary, The Toy Shop, lifts the lid on what life is like for the shop owners!

Following sixteen independent Irish toy retailers across a year, we learn about the magic behind the doors, as well as the issues they face.

One of the featured shops is McGreevy’s Toys Direct in Westport. The shop, which is over 100 years old, is in the fourth generation of the family, and recently made the move online for the first time.

Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Donard McGreevy explained what makes the shop so special, how this past year has been, and just what brings the joy to the four walls of the toy shop!

We've all been there, you're using something innocuous, say wrapping paper and the next thing you know, you're in agony.
