Dave Moore

Before you ask any questions, there are three kids in the school!

[audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2022/02/01114538/Inishturk_0102.mp3"][/audio]

Joe Whelan is - the father - of two thirds - of the children - that attend the local primary school on the island of Inishturk. Located 14kms off the coast of Mayo, Inishturk has a population of around 60 people and no different to the mainland, it’s in the middle of a housing crises. This puts into question the future of their only school and can cause islanders to seek employment on the mainland rather than staying on the island.

Joe joined Dermot and Dave to chat all about life on the island and his own story is quite interesting.

You're also in Laois. Ireland's only doubly landlocked county.

Not only does Laois have no coast, it's not even attached to a county that has one!

But, that's all about to change. Iveta Melgaile and Patrick Bowe from The Ranch Cabin have been granted planning permission to build an incredible glamping site, including a beach!

Iveta and Patrick joined Dermot and Dave to explain where the idea came from and when we can expect to see white sands in Laois!

We could never have imagined that it’d be done in one weekend, but we should never have doubted our Dave. Dermot asked, and he delivered, and then some. Operation The Big Build has been completed and this beaut now lives in Dermot’s back garden.
