  • Could A Gold For Kellie Harrington Be Written In The Stars?
You know we love a bit of numerology on Dermot and Dave, and no better when there’s a date as significant as the 8th of August.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/06115507/GrainneTyndall_0608.mp3"][/audio]
With the Lions Gate Portal open, this Sunday is a massively important day for all of us, and can be very powerful.
Our favourite numerologist, Grainne Tyndall from Numbers4Success, joined Dermot and Dave with her take on what it could mean, not only for us but for Olympian Kellie Harrington.

  • Gold Medals, World Records And Knitting: Tokyo’s Best Bits
This time last year, it seemed so unlikely that the Tokyo Olympics would ever go ahead. Even just a few short months ago, as countries around the world battled Covid, the thoughts of the summer games seemed like a fever dream.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/06104014/AndrewOlympics_0608.mp3"][/audio]
And while they were an Olympics like never before, and hopefully never again, there’s still such huge amounts of joy and fun that comes with the event.
We’ve had the big Irish moments, the incredible work of all of Team Ireland, the medals and the support they’ve seen from home.
But there’s also the moments you might not have seen, the tidbits of information that you can defo keep in your noggin until such a time as the pub quiz returns.
Who is the smallest country to have ever won an Olympic medal? Why on earth was British diver Tom Daley knitting in the stands? Who was Donegal’s medal hope?

  • How To Get The Best Pictures Of Your Holidays
We've come a long way from getting our holiday snaps back only to find that there's a thumb over the lens, or that there's that weird sticker about the light being too bright meaning we've nothing to remember our break with.
But with great tech advances comes great tech responsibility.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/05130049/InstaTours_0508.mp3"][/audio]
Now your holiday photos won't be sitting in a photo album gathering dust on the shelf, instead they'll likely be on your social media for all to see.
After missing out on seeing a beauty spot while on holidays, Conor Mulloy realised that there's a whole group of people who would love nothing more than to find the most Instagrammable spots on their hols.
So, he's created Instatours a photography tour, with a difference. The tour guides in cities including Dublin, Cork, Galway, Edinburgh and London will take you around the spots you might not know about that'll guarantee the best snaps.

  • Why Do Most Beer Bottles Have Long Necks?
Have you ever wondered why most beer bottles have long necks? Maybe you haven't, but Dave Moore did.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/05124510/DavesWorld_0508.mp3"][/audio]
For Dave's World, Dave told Dermot and Maria why all beer bottles have long necks and also why there's that little belly at the bottom of a wine bottle.
This is all more useless information for you to bring to your next dinner party!

  • Everything You (Don't) Need To Know About These Olympic Sports
While we're all donning the green jersey for Team Ireland at the Tokyo Olympics, one of our favourite parts of the games has been watching some of the more 'niche' sports that Ireland maybe don't excel in!
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/05120555/OlympicReporters_0508.mp3"][/audio]
And who better to report on such sports than people who have no idea what's happening.
Throughout the games, we've had our Dermot and Dave reporters commentating on everything from BMX to Fencing, and with just a few days left, we decided to take a look at sport climbing, skateboarding and table tennis.

  • How Burnout Is Making People Quit Their Jobs
Whether you're working remotely, working as a stay at home parent or carer, working in a trade, retail, hospitality or as a frontline worker, the way you've worked over the two years has changed massively, and it is impacting on us massively.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/04130227/NiamhBrady_Burnout_0408.mp3"][/audio]
Burnout is something you can experience no matter what field you work in, it can impact on your personal and professional life and often it can make people leave their dream careers.
Recent studies suggest that as workplaces begin to plan for things like blended working and returning to offices in a more normal way, a lot of staff are considering quitting their jobs due to the pressure they've been experiencing.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave,  productivity coach Niamh Brady shared her own experience of burnout, the signs to watch out for, and how to manage it without handing in your notice.

  • Guinness 0.0 - Does It Taste The Same? We Find Out!
Guinness is of the most iconic Irish brands around the world, available in well over 100 countries around the world, made in 40 countries and 1.8 billion pints sold every year.

And now, they're taking a massive step by introducing the first ever non-alcoholic pint of the black stuff.
After four years, the team at James' Gate have launched Guinness 0.0 which they say has the same taste but without the alcohol.
The 0.0 product will be rolled out across bars in the coming months, but Dermot and Dave were joined by Steve Gilsenan who is the Global Head of Quality for Guinness to taste the new pints.
