  • What Life Is Like Being A Professional Surfer In Ireland
When we hear of Irish athletes involved in water sports we would usually hear of a swimmer, sailor or a rower.
Easkey Britton from County Donegal is a professional surfer and was the first Irish person to surf the so called ‘hell-wave’ in Tahiti when she was just 16 years of age. Easkey is one of many influential people to take part in GOAL's ‘Good Vibes’ Wellness Week’.
GOAL has rounded up top experts from the worlds of sport, nutrition, health and science, to lead on its virtual ‘Good Vibes’ Wellness Week’ from April 26th  to the 30th.
Easkey joined Dermot and Dave to talk about life as a professional surfer and why she's getting involved with GOAL's fundraiser.

  • Living With The 'Angelina Jolie' Cancer Gene
In 2013, Hollywood star Angelina Jolie made news when she announced she had undergone a preventative mastectomy after being diagnosed with the 'BRCA' gene mutation.
The name BRCA is an abbreviation for BReast CAncer gene, a hereditary gene that affects your body's ability to suppress tumour growth and increases the likelihood of cancers such as breast, prostate and ovarian.
Those who are likely to have it can be tested for it and there are preventative measures that can be taken such as mastectomies and an ‘oophorectomy’-a surgical procedure to remove ovaries.
Rachel McKeon is someone who has made the monumental decision to undergo such a procedure. After being diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene, Rachel decided to take her health into her own hands and underwent a number of procedures to reduce the risk of her contracting cancer in the future.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Rachel shared her story, and how the support of the Marie Keating foundation was so important throughout the process.

The online webinar will provide information and advice to men, women and families affected by a BRCA gene mutation and will feature experts in fertility, psycho-oncology and BRCA services in Ireland. • Irishman Uses Foster Puppies To Propose To Girlfriend
It's been a very happy time for Dubliners Alicia and Dave. Back in February, they welcomed a new foster dog in the form of one year old crossbreed Rosie. When Rosie came into their lives, she was pregnant and within a week had welcomed eight gorgeous pups into the world.
Over the next eight weeks, Alicia and Dave cared for the new arrivals and prepared for their rehoming, but Dave had bigger plans!
Using the pups, Dave popped the question to Alicia.
The happy couple spoke to Dermot and Dave about the experience of fostering and their big decision to formally adopt Rosie!
Meanwhile all puppies have been rehomed by Dogs Trust but we're sure they're going to be at the top table on the big day!
While Dogs Trust has rehomed over 220 dogs so far this year, they do still have a small number of dogs who are looking for quite particular foster homes so, the charity are seeking experienced dog owners, who do not have children or any other pets in their home.
If you are interested in fostering, please see their website.
