  • Olly Murs Has A SERIOUS Grá For A Roast From One Famous Dublin Pub
He's on our screens as a judge on The Voice, he's hosted The X Factor and he has over 5 million monthly streams on Spotify but at night, there's one thing that Olly Murs dreams of, and that is a carvery from famous Dublin pub Fagans.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Olly revealed that the one place he always goes to when he's in the city is to the Drumcondra pub for a roast, and we can't say we blame him.
While Covid has stopped Olly's plans to be out on the road this year, and likely his roast dinner plans, the gravy is within sight for the singer as he's coming back to our shores next year.
He'll be in Belfast on the 7th of June, followed by Cork on the 8th of June 2021 (and we're presuming in Fagans eating a carvery on the 9th).
    Tickets are on sale now.

  • Addicted To Your Phone? Here's How To Get Away From It
Have you seen Netflix documentary 'The Social Dilemma'? Looking at our relationship with technology, it does make for scary viewing for those of us who seem to have a device permanently attached to our hand.
But before you bury your phone in a hole in the ground and move to a remote cabin in the middle of nowhere, is there a way of embracing what is good about tech while stepping away from the bad side of things?
On Mind Yourself Now with Dermot and Dave, Carrie Budds from Quokka Wellness had some tips on how to strike the balance between being addicted to the phone and going without.

  • Why Threatening People With Fines Won't Stop Covid Spreading
It's been revealed that the Government will be introducing fines for non-compliance on a number of Covid-19 measures including not wearing a face covering on places like public transport and in shops.
But will it actually work? A study on human behaviour has found that there's a better chance of people adhering to the guidelines if we're told of the positive outcomes that could come from it.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Dr Hannah Durand, iCARE collaborator and behavioural science researcher at NUI Galway explained how recent research coming from the college as part of a global study on public attitudes towards the virus has shown that people are less likely to engage with the advice coming from Governments if it comes under the threat of punishment.
Dr Durand explained that while fatigue is setting in massively around things like social distancing and hand-hygiene, behaviour can be changed by showing success when it happens.

  • How Netflix Could Be Changing The Way You Watch Telly
We all know the feeling. It's 6pm on a rainy Sunday, you're on the couch and you've only moved to make tea and get snacks. Essentially, you and the couch are now one and same and you don't ever intend on moving, certainly not until you've finished a full series of your favourite Netflix show.
And then, Netflix interrupt everything with a more judgmental tone than Judy with her gavel...'are you still watching?'.
We all know what that means, it's them making sure that the couch hasn't fully absorbed you with a casual undertone of 'you're so lazy we're worried you might have perished'.
But we don't need that kind of judgment, and we shouldn't have to convince our streaming services that it's perfectly normal to watch 14 episodes of Brooklyn 99 in one go.
Well it seems the head honchos in Netflix appear to have listened. In Maria's Telly on Dermot and Dave, we heard about the tweak that could be changing the way we watch Netflix.
Plus, all the best weekend telly so you and your best friend (the couch) can make a date.

  • Irish Hockey Legend Reveals How She Qualified For The Olympics With A Broken Arm
It seems like a million years ago since the nation held it's breath and watched the Irish Women's Hockey Team qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in a sudden death shoot-out against Canada.
One of the most instrumental people in that victory was Roisin Upton, who unbeknownst to everyone (herself included) managed to get Ireland to Tokyo while also struggling with a broken arm.
Roisin had a little bit more time to recover than she would have liked, however, as the 2020 Olympics became the 2021 Olympics but she is using her time to raise some much needed funds for GOAL's Jersey Day.
GOAL are asking people to don their favourite jersey, hop on those Zoom calls and donate to help those who need it more than ever.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Roisin looked back on her pre-Covid trip to Malawi where she saw GOAL's work in action.
GOAL Jersey Day is Friday October 9th, all the information about how you can get involved is on their website.

  • How One Irish Woman Is Earning €20,000 A Month On OnlyFans
'OnlyFans' is a website that is very popular with many, and unheard of by so many others. Launched in 2016, it allows social media performers to allow their followers to subscribe for a monthly fee to access additional content not seen on their normal channels.
Around the world, there are around 24 million registered users, it's only growing more and more and at one point this year they reported they were getting 200,000 new users every day.
23 year old Jasmin Heaney is one of the many Irish women who have set up their own account on the website.
During lockdown, she was making between €15-20,000 a month by sharing revealing photos of herself, as well as chatting with her fans.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Jasmin revealed how beating an eating disorder in her teens has led her to rediscover body confidence, how her family feel about her line of work and how she avoids 'creeps' online.
