Days of our Lives sees EJ DiMera, portrayed by Dan Feuerriegel, finds himself in a complicated situation with his son, Johnny DiMera, played by Carson Boatman. Recently, EJ's actions have pushed Johnny to his limits, resulting in him firing EJ as his defense lawyer on the NBC Peacock soap opera. 

DOOL sees EJ's series of missteps, including his risk-taking that nearly landed Johnny's wife, Chanel Dupree, played by Raven Bowens, behind bars, and his courtroom antics, have left Johnny questioning his father's motives. The situation escalates when Johnny discovers that EJ sent a doctored video of Chanel to DA Melinda Trask, played by Tina Huang, to use as evidence in his case. 

Days of our Lives sees EJ remains committed to saving his son from prison, even if it costs him everything. Yet, his efforts may be in vain as Johnny decides to represent himself in the last stages of his trial. EJ’s worries deepen when his brother Tony DiMera, played by Thaao Penghlis, advises him to admit his mistakes and beg for Johnny's forgiveness.
