No doubt about it...depression is a real thing. And it can wreak HAVOC in our drumming and our practice time.   So what can we do about it?   I'll be the first to tell you...I'm not a doctor and I don't pretend to play one on the internet. If you need professional help, please take the steps to get it. Mental health is an often neglected and belittled thing...but it shouldn't be. You only get one mind...take care of it.   I get this sort of question a lot. Here's what I do, what I have done, and what I've advised my students to do. There are definitely things we can do to make sure we're in as healthy of a mental space as we can be.
