Happy New Year and welcome to 2018 from Decomposed Radio! We hope you enjoyed some suitably raucous smash ups over the festive season, and have fully recovered and are all set for a big year! Today's show comes at you from the sunny south of France where we're getting some medium/ hard moves in, and as promised, features a live recorded set from Decomposed Radio favourite DJ Galup, also known as Sam Whittaker. We captured this at the ridiculously good "Works Afterparty" on the 9th December 2017, at some point between 6.30am and 11am, and it features some absolutely incredible vibes and music. It's an unbelievably deep mix of deep, melodic, bleepy techno and everything in between, so without wasting any more time....Decomposed Radio presents DJ Galup, live at the Climbing Works Afterparty....turn it up!!!

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #038: C.B.R. LIVE FROM THE WORKS AFTERPARTY

Happy holidays from Decomposed Radio! Here in Sheffield we're still reeling from the outrageous "Works Party" a few weeks ago. This was the 11th Instalment of this amazing night/ weekend, and I think it's fair to say it was one of, if not THE best yet!

By the time we finished at the main venue at 6am, the dance floor was still completely packed, with tons of people still going crackers, so at that point it was time to re-group, and re-locate to another venue, and one of the best after parties we've ever witnessed!

One of the DJ's tasked with playing a set here was Decomposed Radio favourite from show number 009, C.B.R. His mix on the show from October 2016 is still one of the most popular around, and as such it was an absolute pleasure to watch and hear him get fully into his set and dispatch some serious techno, including some incredible classic records that still sound as fresh today as they ever have. I'm happy to say we also recorded the other sets at the after party, so expect to hear them on the show in the future! Have a waddage Christmas, a primo new year, and we'll see you in 2018, in the meantime we hope you enjoy this very special live recording of C.B.R. from the works after party, in the early hours of Saturday 9th December........

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #037: SHAUN HUMPHREYS

Welcome to Decomposed Radio show #037! Today we're gearing up for the always amazing, and infamous "Works Party" which will be kicking off at 10pm, at "Area" in Sheffield later today, and promises t be an outstanding night of house, disco, 80's and 90's classics, and obviously TECHNO! Before then however, and to get you in the mood, we have a superb mix of sublime deep techno from up and coming Sheffield DJ Shaun Humphreys.

After moving to Sheffield, it didn't take him long to get inspired by some of the amazing nights and line ups that can be found in the steel city these days, and as a talented DJ he's progressed from organising house parties, to now hosting regular events at venues such as the awesome "Plot 22" along with his partner in climb Matt Arnold. They aim to showcase a variety of DJ's from different backgrounds, as well as some of the regulars from the Sheffield climbing and techno scene.

There's still lots to do to get set for the party (and after party), so we hope enjoy this unique mix from Matt Arnold, and see you at the front later.......

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #036: TOM BOOTH

For Decomposed Radio show number 036 we're heading back over to North Wales to catch up with local DJ, promoter and producer Tom Booth. Tom's been a driving force on the North Wales music scene now for quite some time, with a long standing history of mega events such as "Monkey Function," "Summer Sounds" and the infamous socials at Y Fricsan, which anyone who's familiar with can confirm as legendary wild scenes!! As a DJ he's renowned for paying high energy house and techno, with plenty of other genres thrown in to keep people on their toes, and is currently gearing up for a new series of nights over in North Wales called "Element One," the first of which will be happening on Saturday 2nd December, at club dB in Bangor. These nights are set to become North Wales' freshest new underground parties, so stay on the lookout for them!

Back in Sheffield for anyone in the know, it won't have escaped your attention that the annual, infamous "Works Party" will be happening on 8th December, at a really cool venue called "Area". This time around it will feature two rooms of house, disco, 80's & 90's classics, and obviously some extremely strong techno, with a lineup including the elusive "Freeborn Man" Sheffield Techno Institute's "Cellar Dweller" "Nigel Clarke" from Taste the Punch in Ibiza, and Decomposed Radio favourite "DJ Galup."

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #035: BOURBON MUNCHER

Hi again from Decomposed Radio! For show #035 I'm really psyched to welcome DJ, producer and social entrepreneur "Bourbon Muncher," originally from Manchester, he's now resident right here in the steel city, where he's established the amazing "RiteTrax" project, with the aim of providing a platform for underground culture in Sheffield.

The home of RiteTrax is a really cool venue called "Plot22" which not only hosts some ace musical and artistic events, but also serves as a multi purpose creative space, and a platform for the city's artists! Bourbon Muncher's musical background is firmly routed in house and 130 Bass music, and that pretty much sums up what he's whipped up for us on show 35!

Check out RiteTrax, Plot22 and Bourbon Muncher himself on Soundcloud and Facebook, and fire up this wicked varied mix from the man himself.......

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #034: GUS HUDGINS VINYL MIX

Here in Sheffield and at Decomposed Radio we're recovering from the incredible "No Bounds Festival," which was an outrageous weekend of mischief and music, including the one and only Jeff Mills at Hope Works on Saturday night, which was outstanding!

It also involved probably the best Sunday night ever, that the Sheffield Techno Institute boys and Broken FM did a grand job of putting on, and was a fitting end to the weekend.

I'm still putting together a couple of guest mixes for future shows, so this week, you're stuck with me, with a bit of an off the cuff mix of some records that I randomly pulled out.

For a tracklist head over to the Decomposed website, and in the meantime, hope you enjoy this all vinyl mix from myself Gus Hudgins.....

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #033: DOPPELGANGER

Welcome to Decomposed Radio episode #033.

Back in July, a crew of us were lucky enough to witness an outrageous 3 days of awesome music in the Lake District, and feature on the lineup of the fantastic "Freeborn Man Techno tent" there.

We've already featured a set from that weekend on show 029, so we thought it was hight time that we put out another one, this time featuring Sheffield's one and only "Doppelgänger" who's been around on the scene and firmly on our radar for quite some time, and who's outstanding set in the Freeborn Man tent on the Saturday night reminded us just how good he really is!

He's an elusive character, and as such there aren't many of his mixes online available to listen to, so this is a real treat, and his set as featured here contains a sublime mix of groovy and quirky techno and other sub-genres. So tune in, crank it up, and enjoy this delicious mix from Sheffield's "Doppelgänger"..........

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #032: NIGEL CLARKE

    Welcome back to Decomposed Radio!

For show 32 I'm really proud to welcome accomplished DJ, producer and friend of the show Nigel Clarke, with a seriously chunky mix of house and techno all the way from Ibiza!

Nige has been playing house, tech house and techno for basically forever. He was resident DJ at the world famous "El Divino" nightclub in Ibiza back in the day, and has played all over the world in clubs in China, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France and the USA.

These days he's resident DJ for "Taste the Punch" both here in the UK, and out in Ibiza, which happens on Fridays at Eden, where this mix was recorded live. He'll be out there playing the closing party alongside Faithless, Prok & Fitch and Format:B on the 29th September.

On top of all this, he not only runs underground house station "Stereotype Radio" that airs on d3ep.com and Diversefm.com , he's also a really handy producer, and his new track "Crusher" will be released on OdTEch Records at the end of September.

I'm also very happy to announce that he'll be playing for us at the famously wild annual "Climbing Works Party" on 8th December, right here in Sheffield, so for an idea of what to expect, turn up the volume, and get psyched for Decomposed Radio #032, with Nigel Clarke......

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #031: INTER GRITTY

Welcome to Decomposed Radio #031. For this week's show, we're super psyched to welcome one of my favourite artists, all the way from Norrkoping in Sweden, "Inter Gritty." He's the man behind the incredible "Random Island" label, which specialises in limited edition, vinyl only, wind-swept machine music, and a big fan of the early Bleep 'n' Bass techno sound, much of which was pioneered from legendary labels from the Sheffield area such as "Warp" records. So there's a really cool connection there, and even tracks on Inter Gritty EP's with titles like "Kelham" and the "Sheffield Mix"

He's appeared at leading venues such as Berghain and Tresor with both DJ and live hardwear sets, as well as plenty of other appearances throughout Europe, and in his native Sweden, where you can catch him playing in Stockholm this October.

He's provided a phenomenal mix of full-blooded Detroit techno for the show, featuring old skool and new skool tracks, along with some unreleased Inter Gritty gems.

It's a real journey and a bit of a techno education, so turn it up, and fully immerse yourself in Decomposed Radio #031, with Inter Gritty.

  • DECOMPOSED RADIO PODCAST #030: RUBIDIUM

Welcome to Decomposed Radio show 30, where we're super excited to be featuring "Rubidium" with a storming mix of solid, tough techno.

Rubidium is Rachel Bisgani, based out of Oakland California. She's shared the stage with some serious techno heavy hitters such as Black Asteroid and Tommy Four Seven, and also supports the outstanding cutting edge techno label "From 0-1" as art director, which is a firm favourite of ours.

After listening to the incredible mix she's provided us with for the show, we're pretty sure you'll want to check out more of Rubidium's music, so get yourselves over to her soundcloud page, and also look up her "Kitzflapper" EP on Anode records, the title track of which is an absolute killer!

Also just a quick shout out to friend of the show Si Moore, for joining the dots and helping us feature an artist of Rubidium's calibre on the show. So crank it up and get involved with Decomposed Radio show #030, with Rubidium.
