In a letter to Judge Subramanian regarding the  testimony of government expert Dr. Dawn Hughes, the defense team representing Sean Combs expressed concern that Hughes may exceed the boundaries established by the Court in its prior rulings. Drawing from 3500 material documenting her meetings with prosecutors after the April 18 and April 25, 2025, pre-trial conferences, the defense flagged several areas they believe could lead to prejudicial or impermissible testimony. They specifically cautioned that Dr. Hughes might offer opinions on subjects the Court previously deemed inadmissible, potentially violating the evidentiary scope outlined in earlier orders.

The defense also noted that during a recent meet-and-confer with the government, prosecutors agreed to avoid certain topics during Dr. Hughes’s direct examination. Despite this, the defense submitted the letter as a preemptive measure to ensure these boundaries are upheld during her testimony. Their objective is to secure the Court’s oversight and intervention if necessary, to prevent Hughes from introducing testimony that could unfairly prejudice the jury or infringe on Combs' right to a fair trial.
