We continue our scary movie marathon this week with Get Out. We have hot tea and hypnotize ourselves into eating carrot cake, Froot Loops with milk, and chocolate covered Bavarian cream filled donuts. Get Out is a fun film to watch and even more fun to discuss, but when we wake up from being in the Sunken Place will we remember any of it?

We’re very happy that you decided to put the lotion in the basket and come visit us in our cell to kick off this year’s spooky movie marathon. We’re eating spring lamb chops, corn, peas, and a baked potato before discussing Silence of the Lambs. The excellent cast really makes this incredibly meme-able fun family film for us. Thank you, Dr. Lecter for having us for dinner.

We eradicate some delicious post-coital sandwiches before talking about The Terminator this week. We all agree that it’s a fine film even if we don’t understand why Sarah Connor would have sex with a man that she has no chemistry with, why Terminators have real dongs and hilariously fake heads, and what a South American kid is doing taking Polaroid pictures at a remote Mexican gas station. A storm of sequels and spin-offs are coming and that’s all right as long as they keep to the source material and don’t destroy the Terminator universe.

HEY YOU GUYS! This week, we eat a Chunk and Sloth size meal of Domino’s pizza, Baby Ruth bars, potato chips, rocky road ice cream, whipped cream, and Pepsi before we talk about The Goonies. This film is filled with the boundless energy of kids on an epic quest to find rich stuff. We all agree that it’s fun but may have too many dick jokes… or, maybe not enough! It gave us the irreplaceable talent behind Thanos, Samwise, Waymond Wang, and a good-looking lawyer. Proof that anyone can be a Goonie.

With a great podcast comes a great dinner with a movie and this week we talk about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse after we eat burgers. There’s no doubt that this film is one of the best superhero films ever made. Every part of the film’s story, animation, and soundtrack makes this one of the few films that we give all tens. We just hope the next Spider-verse film retains the power of this one.

We’re in Paris again this weekend where we eat pastries and bread with brie and discuss Midnight in Paris. Creative characters abound in this film, but are they just caricatures of artists from the 1920s, or were they actually just a bunch of crazy characters that keep inspiring the world a hundred years later? You decide. One thing we all agree with is Corey Stoll as Ernest Hemingway makes one very sexy icon.

We’re back and on fire this week when we eat beef burgundy and French bread before we talk about Portrait of a Lady on Fire. There’s no doubt that the film is beautifully shot and the sound is exceptional, but it pales in comparison to the ladies in the film. Blake should know. He famously likes the pretty ladies. Jose is the most cultured of us and won’t be swayed by the pretty lady shenanigans. And well, Brandon is just along for the wild pretty lady ride.

We go a little off the beaten path this week when we eat hamburgers and discuss Julia Sweeny’s monologue Letting Go of God. Julia’s talent for captivating storytelling takes us on her search for answers to some of life’s biggest questions. We also discover answers to some of our most pressing questions about self-love and whether or not we can accumulate enough points to go to Heaven one day. No matter if you’re a believer in God or Not-God, we hope you’ll find our meandering through Julia’s story insightful and entertaining.

We’re joined by Tiffanie this week to eat buffalo chicken wraps, curly fries, and what we came up as an alternative to sourdough soft tacos (Jack in the Box tacos and sourdough bread) not recommended. After sipping our cups of love potion laced tea, we talk about Shrek 2. This is one of Tiffanie’s favorite films. We all have our own problems with holes the film’s story but all of us agree that the pop references and gags are so great the film deserves tens all around. We’ll wait until we watch Shrek 3 to start tearing the franchise apart.

This week, we continue our heroin-filled foray into film with Trainspotting. We ate Renton’s detox diet of tomato soup, mushroom soup, and vanilla ice cream which didn’t mix well in our stomachs. It’s a good thing we’re all mates and had a clean bathroom instead of the worst toilet in Scotland.  Oh, baby.
