This book wasn't very good. I kept thinking should I finish it, but it takes a really bad book for me not to listen to the whole thing. In the end I gave it up half way through. I like frisky sex, but I'm not into the whole dominance thing, that seems to be popular today. I wasn't impressed with the sex scenes in this book, it was basically abuse and she was turned on by it. The story line could have had possibilities but I am not willing to finish it to find out. Narrator mediocre.

Author's narration improved from first book
I wrote a negative review regarding the author's performance as a narrator on the first book. While it is true the narration was bad, I decided to give book 2 and 3 a chance. I found that the narration improved with the second & third installments. The story line is interesting and the character development has progressed to the point that I am hooked. I will buy the 4th & 5th installments when they are complete.

This is a NO from me
A weak plot with more holes in it than a golf course and a weak narrator is all that needs to be said about this book but this is book 2 in the series so maybe if I had listened to book 1 then maybe I would have enjoyed it better.
But if you want more then the disjointed plot is about a woman who has to find 2 artefacts from a sorcerer/Dragon shifter's lair but he knows what she's doing there and lets her look for them and she knows he's a Dragon shifter so no great drama there. Her brother is being held hostage but he's hardly mentioned and is nearly dead anyway so no drama here either. The romance was dull.
It's one of those books that has you saying "what...., really......., come on........, seriously......
Worth of credit? No, in my opinion, this book wasn't.

    What exactly was I thinking?
I thought from the Publisher's Summary that this would be a very fast pace story...
    Not so much...
Both characters in this book spend a lot of time just thinking. I spent most of mytime wishing they'd just decide.
Aside from that, a lot of the ideas presented were not new. There are immortals who have fangs, prefer the night, and who aren't rogue vampires in other books that are more action oriented than this one.
The narrator did a pretty good job overall. I would get other books narrated by her. I honestly think the narrator saved this book from becoming a book I fall asleep to.

    Nice read for between series
I wanted a book to read while waiting for a book to be released. I found this one and decided to give it a try. I am surprised I like it as much as I did. I knew this book wasn't meant to be deep and to be honest that's why I chose to read it. Sometimes it's nice to just set and read a book like this. However this book is a bit deeper than what I had though it would be. They couple in this book had a unpleasant past together and had a lot of trust issues to work out. The verbal play between them was charming and slightly funny. For me the heroine starts out selfish and uncaring of how she hurts others to get what she wants. Thankfully they both grow while on thier adventures and I began to understand more of why the heroine behaved as she did. The only problem I had was toward the end. Some of it was just gross and a bit on the disturbing side but still I enjoyed reading this book. Other than that this was a fun book to read while passing time.
    Five Stars
    loved the story
    superb romantic fantasy
A century and one year ago Amma the witch stole a chalice from its guard dragon shifter Joarr. She left the Chalice Keeper trapped in his dragon form in a room in which he could barely move slightly. She traded her booty to a dwarf.
In the present Joarr needs the chalice to save his race from a deadly plague that kills the fledglings. Joarr captures Amma's spirit inside a lantern. He demands she tell him who she sold the chalice to or else. Like she did with the princess who stole her spirit, Amma plans to remain patient and in hiding from her frustrated captor who considers burning her and the lantern. Rike arrives accusing Joarr of losing the chalice as disaster has struck their race as he explains the young are dying including his son. The possessor of the chalice leaves a note to the dragons to meet this unknown individual if they want it back. Joarr knows he must venture into the lair of their enemy; Amma comes out of hiding and joins him.
This is superb romantic fantasy starring two strong protagonists who make the world of Lori Devoti seem real. Fast-paced from the moment Amma tricks Joarr and never slowing down, fans will enjoy this engaging tale as the heroes fall in love but partial redemption (each knows they cannot bring back those who died) is what they seek.

    Unique world and likable couple
For the sixth book taking place in the unique world constructed for the Unbound series, many of the details are new and the main two characters find themselves tackling one difficult dilemma after another. With none of the previous characters being present in this story, the hero and heroine will have to depend upon each other in Lori Devoti's latest creative paranormal tale.

A most enjoyable fantastical Victorian romance
It's Victorian England when Jasper, an handsome immortal flying machine ex pirate finally can't resist a chance meeting with Abigail who he has been watching over as a favour since her birth. He is hopelessly in love with her but she just doesn't believe or trust him however they set off on a fantastical journey to find her treasure.
This book started off really good but her constant mistrust of him, even after they became lovers, was really really annoying whereas Jasper was patient, protective and so vulnerable when it came to Abigail. There were times when I thought just cut yourself so she can watch you heal and come on no food or drink during the journey - but hey it's got a flying boat, talking cat, Blackbeard and immortals in it!!
However, I thought it was a enjoyable fun listen, it had romance, plenty of love scenes, steampunk elements and an imaginative plot.
In my opinion, well worth my credit.
    Different...
I did not love this book. The Narrator did a really good job. The Story had to much going on. Their is a lot of fantasy and some steam punk. I found myself zoning out on this story. This feels like a book that was just made to sell something. It was missing something to me. The Main Characters seemed a little whinny. I think the plot needed more time to develop. The story was rushed. The Concept has potential.
Their were some streamy scenes. Their is Fantasy and some steam punk. The story is a time killer (for me). If you want a story that doesn't engage your mind. This is the book for you.
    Hope this Helps:)

    This book was just ok.
I DIDNT REALLY CARE FOR THIS BOOK BECAUSE I FOUND THE MAIN CHARACTOR TO BE A BIT ANNOYING WITH HER NEED TO KEEP HERE DRAWINGS. SOME OF THE CHAPTERS WERE LONG AND BORING AND I DIDNT LIKE HOW THE REALTIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MAIN CHARACTOR AND HER LOVE INTEREST EVOLVED. What I did like about the book is THE NARRATOR WAS AMAZING LIKE ALWAYS,THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ADAM AND BEN. AND THE ENDING. IM NOT SURE IF I WOULD LISTEN TO THIS BOOK AGAIN BUT OVER ALL IT WAS OK. I WOULD GIVE IT A 3.2 OUT OF A 5.
AN ORIGINAL COMIC BOOK STORY....... WITH ROMANCE
This was a totally different 'off the wall' type of listen but once you get your head round the who what's and why's and the originality of the plot then it becomes one that you think at the end "huh well that was an unexpected and quite enjoyable listen".
I liked the characters (there were lots of them) and there was plenty of action however it's quite complicated with the EverVerse, NeoVerse, the Fade etc etc and there's romance but not very much between the sheets action. I think you'd just have to relax, take your brain out of gear and just let the storyline carry you along as I'm sure there's holes in the plot and it wouldn't stand up to too much scrutiny.
Worth a credit? Well, if there was a continuation then I would probably wait for it to be on sale before I bought it however I did sorta enjoy this so I don't regret the spent credit however I'm afraid it's one that not everyone is going to like.

Book Review: Kiss of Twilight, a Paranormal Romance
In Loribelle Hunt's novel, Kiss of Twilight, demons hunt the Earth. An old sect of warriors called the Order of Templar fight for humanity against these evil creatures. However, their strength comes from binding their souls to a half-demon. Only by bonding to someone they love can a Templar avoid succumbing to his evil half.
    Paranormal Romance
Kiss of Twilight is the second novel in Hunt's Dark Bonds series. This is a well developed book with complex characters that grow throughout the novel. Dupree Jackson is a well trained warrior for the Templar but he is struggling against his evil demon side and his desire for Kara Stone. Dupree does not feel right about tying Kara to his evil half; his love for her forces him to want her to be safe and protected. However, Kara grew up in the Order of Templar and she has no desire to sit on the sidelines while Dupree and others fight the demons. Everyone in this novel has a history that is tied to fighting the demons and saving the innocent. That emotional tie to the fight is what makes this paranormal story work.
    Coming of Age
Kara's coming of age story is a key plot in Kiss of Twilight. Kara, like many women, struggle with determining her way. She sees herself as a capable warrior however; many around her still see her as the young girl who came to live in the Order. It is a common problem many young women face as their decisions in life may not be the path others would choose for them. Kara, however, sticks to her ground. She knows exactly what she wants out of life. The only question is how she will get it. I believe all of us struggle with this question on our journey in life. Reading about Kara's quest is a testimony to all to believe in oneself.
    Erotic Romance
While Kiss of Twilight is categorized as an erotic romance by Carina Press, the passion Hunt writes about fits nicely into the storyline. While there is some sexually explicit sections this is not without feeling by both characters that have made a commitment to each other. Those who have not read an Erotic Romance may find this ebook a nice introduction to the genre. I have certainly read many Regency novels with the same level of sexual detail that Hunt provides in this book. You can find Kiss of Twilight and other romance novels by Hunt on her website.

Worth a listen...two many unanswered questions!!!!
I liked the book. It did take me a while to finish it.
I felt the author did not think the book through. They were some areas that I thought needed improvement like the name for the potion the character drank to power up. I also felt there needed more back stories on the main characters, not just on how they are so into each other or how they are not. There was a lot of talk about flirting and sexual tension that I was getting annoyed. I did enjoy the book but not as much as I would have if the character wasn't so annoying about how she looked and how her sister was so much more beautiful then she was. And how people never liked her just for her. That they always wanted something from her and so on. It did get on my nerves. They were also to many unanswered questions and I know the authored did that so we would want to buy the next one but I felt like nothing was resolved. Yes there was a ending, they achieved their goal that was set in the beginning. But I did not get that complete feeling when you finish a book and waiting to see what happen next. I felt like I stop reading in mid book.
I dont want you think I did not like the book, it was just missing something. If audible does provide the other books; I will be getting them in hopes some of my questions will be answered. Also I am hoping their will be more then complaining. This is just my take on it.
It does have great fantasy and some interesting views on magic in a modern world. Sexy men and dragons always gets a thumps from me.
    Sex Magic
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I just finished listening to this audiobook. I enjoyed the plot and the story. The one thing I would change is the graphical sex between demons/humans/demi-gods.
What other book might you compare The Last Slayer to and why?
At times I was feeling this book along the lines of Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files or Ilona Andrews Magic Bites series.
What about Eve Biancos performance did you like?
I enjoyed the multiple voices and the mood she was able to create with her voice.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes. Not with my kids, but yes.
    Any additional comments?
Magic is fueled by sex. I think this is a nice twist on things, but it was so graphic at times I found myself constantly stopping so my kids would not hear.
    Dull and Boring
This was very hard to listen to. While I thought the Eve Bianco narrated the story ok.
