Excellent Start

I thought this was going to be all about sex but it was actually a very good plot. Can't wait to get to the real book. Although the two main characters were enemies or so they thought they both were enjoying each other and the mafia tie in was very well thought out. I was given this book via audiobook boom in exchange for an unbiased review. If the book is anything like the prequel then it will be worth the credit.

Good short story

I received this audiobook free for an honest opinion. I thought this was a cute book. I wasn't too interested in the story. Didn't really grab me. Although Cynthia did a great job as in all her other books, I was glad to be finished with this one. I don't know how I ended up with two copies. They are a bit different, but the story as a whole, is the same. I think the other book I have contains additional stories. If you want a quick read, I would recommend this one.

A Great Start!

Secret Agent Passion, though rather short, is a remarkable book where two characters come together in an interesting way: through work. I would, and I will, listen to this book again. So, I'd say that Secret Agent Passion ranks pretty high in my book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Who is my favorite character? I would have to say that it is Alexei, as he is a guy who protects his own, and yet, also enjoys having a good time!

What does Hilarie Mukavitz bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Hilarie's voice brings out the accent of Alexei, Blair's entire character, and provides a great voice for the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, this was a book that I wanted to listen to all in one sitting; in fact, I did listen to it in one setting. It's a short book, but it leads up to the next book in the series... so yeah, it's a great book with a great cliffhanger!

Just that I enjoyed the book and I hope to be able to read more of the series when I can.

A Silverback

I was given this story in exchange for an unbiased review by the author. This was a different take on the normal shifters. A silverback gorilla with issues. This story only took a small amount of time to listen to. It was her usual style and included a lot of sex. Since it is a two part story I reserve judgment on if there is an actual story until I listen to the second part.

A hauntingly beautiful tale

Each chapter left me wanting to learn more about the main characters, as their stories were being told throughout the book. I was fully engrossed in how everything played out and wanted to know more about their backgrounds. When Andrew is finally revealed for what he is, I was in awe.

Jiraiya Addams is a fine narrator, who's reading really brought the characters to life and made me want to listen to the book again and again. I definitely look forward to hearing more books read by him.

I'm kind of a stranger to books of this genre, but this was a fun read despite the occasional super maudlin aside. Gillentine's take on this old idea is unique and intriguing, and hints at a much larger mythos that I'm looking forward to exploring in future novels. Unfortunately Addams, the audiobook narrator, sometimes passes over small opportunities for dramatic expansion, especially during scenes of internal conflict, but that is his choice as narrative interpreter. Generally, internal monologue itself is confusing and difficult to write, especially split personalities battling for control, but Gillentine pulls it off well. He is a gifted writer and I really enjoy the vivid imagery his word choice inspires.

Addams does a good job with the narration, imbuing the characters with distinct voices. There is occasionally some confusing overlap in dialogue where characterization blends together, but it does not detract from the story too much.

The recording quality is good, but not excellent. Editing irregularities and strange compression artifacting occasionally interrupts the storytelling.

All in all, an exceptional first novel from Jimmy Gillentine, and an above average first narrative effort by Jiraiya Addams.

Breaking Bad plus Twilight Saga

The Beast Within is a pretty good listen/read to get lost into. The story is a "Breaking Bad" crime-drama with steamy paranormal-romance and blood splattered horror. The premise is fairly original with a surprising end.

The narrator has a clear voice and I like his distinctive 'voices' and special effects.

Hooked!

It took a few minutes, but barely within the first chapter I was hooked! I love the descriptiveness of the characters, locations, the attitudes and especially the snark. This being my first audio book EVER, I am very pleased with the results. This is definitely a good story for those into the paranormal genre.

Can't wait for the next one!

Feeling Cheated

The story of Bethany is a good read. The story isn't my issue... I purchased this book thinking it was a full book on these characters. After 3 chapters... which is like 9% of the book you branch off into an insert of Bethany 2 and then a bunch of bonus stories... which is not what I was thinking I was getting, so I feel cheated by this purchase. as much as I want to know the rest of this story, I won't be suckered again by buying another one of these books

Short...

The book was so short then it ended on a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers and wish I knew before I bought this book. The premise is great but the character development for other characters besides the main character was awful. I like getting to know all characters of the books I read and didn't get a true feeling of any characters. I won't be reading anything from this series because all in all it was put together badly. In some spots you don't understand exactly who, what, and where. Those things are very important, in my opinion, in creating and putting together a great book.

Dont even bother with this book

I got this book because the plot seemed interesting but as i began to read it i was thoroughly disappointed. To me honestly the characters fell a little flat. The main character seems to just hide and cowar for the most part and it feels like her mate has nothing on his mind but sex. All in all the story itself just couldn't live up to the synopsis. The worst part may have been the fact that there were so many grammatical errors and spelling errors. If not that then maybe the worst part was while was reading i constantly found myself confused unsure of where they were who was talking and simply what was going on. I hate giving bad reviews because I know writing a book isn't easy but I feel the author should have more pride in herself and her work to ever let a book this underdeveloped get published.

Not worth it

Will Kai and Eloise have their happily ever after

Ascension Within by Julie Nicholls is a masterpiece. Written with loving care, it shows in the character and plot development. Once I started listening, I could not stop until the story was finished. Scott Richard Ehredt's narration is a wonder.. His rich and powerful voice brings the characters to life. What a glorious collaboration between him and Ms. Nicholls.

Will Kai and Eloise have their happily ever after, or will events prevent their reunion? I will give nothing away, but I encourage you to listen for yourself. You will not be disappointed. In fact, this story is one that you will keep with you long after you have completed it.

Outstanding accomplishment, Ms. Nicholls. A true saga. 5 stars, and in my estimation, many more.

A must read!

This is so good even to the very last word! Julie- it was worth the wait! Thank you. I don't know what I liked more...the beginning or the end. Ok....I liked it all! It was so captivating. I love the characters and the story line. Some things made me think....why? and others I totally agreed with the characters decisions (I feel like their real people) and isn't that what a good book does to readers? At times I forgot where I was I was so engrossed in what was happening in the story. I loved the bonus at the end! It made the story complete....well sort of...maybe a little teeny tiny cliffhanger there...

Catnipped, it's worth the time but be aware, the editing is bad

Sabella was cat-shifter that followed one of the people home that had created her. There she saw him give his daughter, Lilly, a cat necklace. She was a cat so she waited until everyone was asleep and took it.

Fast forward to adulthood, Sabella is a professor and she Lilly's teacher in college. Lilly notices that the necklace looks familiar. That starts a conversation between the two, that is how their relationship started.

This was a very good storyline, but there were so many errors. I guess that each author has to have a certain amount of words. However the ones in this book did not fit at all. It made the story hard to read. Given to me for an honest review

I am a poor judge, so I shared it with two adult ...

As a man, I am a poor judge, so I shared it with two adult students who identify as lesbians and they both thought it was a great book. The explanations and emotions were very real and felt realistic and important. They enjoyed the reactions and life lessons taught.

UGH! LONG ANTHOLOGY only one Lesbian story

This review is a long time in coming. As I have said many times I don't like anthologies, I don't like collections of short stories, I don't like short stories. And guess what this book wasâ A collection. Of. Short stories.

I was drawn in by the blurb about this book which I thought was going to be Lesbian Romance: Catnip (Cat Paranormal Shape Shifter Romance) (New Adult and College Women's Fiction Romantic). The first story was the story about a shapeshifting cat who happens to be lesbian. The story was okay.

After that story, was a mass of fantasy and sci-fi erotica that was all very heterosexual. Much of it was disturbing to me. Some would've been good as stories without the erotica. Very creative. Under really have to admit that it felt like the old switcheroo. If the title had been different, and not centered in on the lesbian shapeshifter cat, I wouldn't have felt cheated. Had each of the stories sold as singular short stories it might not have felt so weird. But then it took me so long to get through all of these stories and so many of them just were not interesting to me-- I nearly quit several times.

All in all, I am just happy to be finished with this book.

Fun sexy read

I was given this book free for an honest review. This is a short story that is very complete. I actually would love it to be expanded a bit. The story starts with Sabella as a child who is a government project and can shape shift into a domestic cat.

Thrilling Book Two

Worlds on Fire by Lexi Ostrow had me hooked as soon as I opened my kindle. In this continuation of the Guardian series we meet Julian a word speaker who has not yet met a guardian. As a fire fighter Julian is more than capable of taking action when the situation calls for it. What he lacks is the love everyone desires to have in their life. That is where Serena comes in. She is not the usual guardian. I feel this guardians sole purpose is for Julian to have some one to guard his heart and give him a reason to fight. We also learn more about the Trench coat twins.

Lexi has me hooked. I want to know more about who the twins are and who is going to win the war. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

SWM seeking desperately Princess

The author continues almost directly from the ending of the last book. It seemed that maybe it was happening concurrently with the ending of the last. Instead of keeping his guardian in his world he's traveled back to her world (in the book). Never stopping, and a tumbling romp through both worlds, this love just can't be stopped.

Loved it!!!

This book was awesome! I really liked Julian,a firefighter who is a low level wordspeaker. Sarina gets pulled from a historical romance novel to be his guardian. She is every bit as stubborn and tenacious as he is. The sparks fly between the two of them and the plot moves at an exciting speed. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Experience The Fire

Exciting now again with this author. Got to step back into this world with the battle between good and evil still continues. In this one you get to be introduced to yet another word speaker and the longing he has had for a guardian. No one is more surprised when he finally gets one than the guardian herself. The struggle between these two will be different though than the first ones read about because she does not want to be in his world. The compromise that takes place will have consequences that neither will expect though. The battle continues and thank goodness will be also different because of where and how it does. There is either the real world or the world in the book neither is exempt from it. These two will have love to carry them through their struggles with a heat from the two of them that if they are not careful could be very dangerous where she lives.

Honor Thy Father

This is the culmination of the first part of the interwoven Multiverse series. Do yourself a favor and start at Book One. Without any background this is a heck of a good yarn but references will be confusing if you aren't familiar with the previous novels. (In fact, the first SEVEN volumes--series one and two, is out now in a boxed set--RECOMMENDED.)

Stop reading here if you are unfamiliar with the story to avoid potential spoilers. We are involved in nearly non-stop action as the pace picks up and secrets are revealed. A being from Madeline's past* wreaks havoc and Jennifer's attempt to regain Ciaran for herself catapults past events into the future. *Actually we learn a LOT about Madeline that had earlier not been revealed.

Ably read by Catherine Edwards, the well-modulated narration (AUDIO) adds impact and urgency to the story while caressing the poignant moments.

When I got this I was so excited to see a shifter book with over 500 pages. There are many stories in there, not just one. The first and the last were the best.

Ryan swept me off my feet along with Sara

This quick fun read about break ups and trust issues highlights the power of a caring, strong, determined guy, who doesn't give up on a gun shy gal.
