    Publisher's Summary:
Forgiveness and redemption find their source in the unlikeliest of places, even in the torture cells of Saddam Hussein. In Tanya Parker Mills' award-winning and gritty work, The Reckoning, one woman's past comes back to haunt her as she struggles to survive political cruelty and injustice.
Journalist Theresa Fuller has epilepsy, but this hasn't slowed her search for stories of injustice to broadcast to the world. When she and her cameraman, Peter Cranston, are captured inside Iraq in August 2002, she is cut off from her medication. Seizures resume, and dreams and visions of her American childhood in Baghdad begin to trouble her. Tormented by the relentless Colonel Badr, she is forced to focus on her own father's death years before in a Baghdad prison. The strain of her own captivity is relieved only by her growing attraction to Tariq al-Awali, the Iraqi captain who took charge of her capture. The more she learns of him and his family, the clearer her haunting dreams become, and the more puzzling her past. Before American bombs begin to fall, and all of Iraq is thrown into even darker chaos, Theresa must find a way to escape the cruelty of Colonel Badr and save those she cares for most.

Incredible story with twists and turns
The author has a masterful way of writing! I love the detailed descriptions that help you to really see the story happening in your mind. The twists & turns keep the story very intriguing so that it's hard to pause from listening. I loved the way she used the epileptic episodes to see into her childhood without pulling you away from the story. What a tender love story amidst so much pain - yet coming to an end with peace & understanding. She did an amazing job on the audio with all of those foreign accents and differing genders. I would definitely recommend it!
A great story with narration to match!
Would you listen to The Reckoning again? Why?
Yes, I would. I really enjoyed the development of characters and the narration.
What other book might you compare The Reckoning to and why?
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet because of the use of past and present in the story line. As well as the way both author transported me into the scenes using the sense of smell.
What about Tanya Parker Millss performance did you like?
She was a rock star with all the accents! That was a most welcome surprise!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, indeed. Not much laughter, but many gasps and waiting with my heart stuck in my throat.
    Any additional comments?
I found myself lost in this story more than once-even folding socks and listening proved to be difficult.

    An intriguing read.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. I really enjoyed it and know that a lot of people will too.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I didn't have a favourite because I loved them all.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I had over 10 hrs to listen to it in one day then yes I would.
    Any additional comments?
This was an awesome book! It had everything you could possibly want in a good book. There was mystery, intrigue, death, destruction, stock market and viruses. I wasn't sure what it would be like when I first started but I ended up really liking it. Even though I didn't understand the stock market references, I still didn't feel like I was lost. The idea of the mutated viruses was frightening and finding out why they were made was even more so!!
There is stories within stories in this book but they all come together flawlessly. The characters all grow throughout the story and the plot was well written, researched and developed too. I flew through the pages because I needed to see what happened next!! In all this was a fantastic read and I hope we see more from these characters in the future.
The audio of this was awesome. The narrator made the book come alive, he knew when to be tense and when to be lighter. He did a fantastic job.
Drew Me In and Kept Me Guessing
What did you love best about The Deadly Trade?
This book started out a little slow for me, but developed nicely. After the fifth or sixth chapter, I was anxiously anticipating listening to more. The story had everything - espionage, murder, intrigue, love interests, human tragedy, and more! I really enjoyed the plot twists, right up to the last paragraph. Ken Morris even left room for a sequel, and I hope there will be one!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well, Tim Mack was the hero of the book, so he's easy. He truly seemed to be operating in earnest through the whole book. I found myself rooting for him. Really, though, I developed a soft spot for Detective Bob Moore. Despite his gruff exterior, I pictured him with a mischievous glint in his eye and a lot of compassion humanity in his heart.
Both Tim and Bob are people I'd want to have in my life as friends.
What about Bill Lords performance did you like?
Bill Lord truly brought the characters to life. His range was incredibly dynamic.

    Publisher's Summary:
Marie Jenson's life changed forever - three times.
The first time was in her freshman year of college. She was a young, idealistic, and carefree student with visions of making the world a better place. That was until her idealism was shattered when she lost someone she dearly loved in one of the world's most deadly acts of terrorism.
The second time was when US security was shaken to the core by the deadly attack on New York City and the Pentagon on 9/11. Jenson was an ambitious, young lawyer working for the governor of Virginia when a plane flew into the Pentagon. She and the governor barely made it out of Washington, DC, alive.
The third time Jenson finds herself behind enemy lines, working as a clandestine services operative for the CIA as she infiltrates an ISIS terror cell. Her mission is to take down the top leadership of the cell in Iraq. To uncover the stunning truth, she must use her gifts and the wounds she carries. Forced to risk it all, Jenson makes the ultimate sacrifice.
Now, pulled from the wreckage, Jenson embarks on a journey of discovery of the woman she lost on an ancient pilgrimage through Spain called the Camino de Santiago. Far away from the perils of her work, she seeks to escape the memories she must endure.
While on her journey she uncovers a terror plot that could have lasting implications for not only the country of Spain but the world. In search of redemption, Jenson seizes the opportunity to try to prevent the attack before it's too late.

    Shallow
I have walked the Camino twice, the most recent being with my grandson. There is much written about the Camino, both fiction & non-fiction, so the title of McMurray's novel intrigued me & piqued my interest. The story line, the character development & the plot are shallow.
    Excellent Series!!!
I read the 4 books of the series , not in one sitting but in one day, and they were fantastic. The female lead was the best and her mission with the religious aspect in it was great. Of course the ISIS terror was what drew my interest in reading the series. Once I started reading it, it was hard to put down, but didn't put it down for long. The ending is fantastic as causes you to search for the next book, which isn't written yet. And after you realize that you hope the next book comes out soon. Fantastic Work....Keep it up please.
    Compelling Read!
I thought this book was well written and easy to follow. I hadn't read the first few books in the series and just happened on this one while looking for books about the Camino de Santiago. I enjoyed the story line and can't wait for the next one in the series! I'll be looking for more books from this author. I like her style!
    amazingly gripping.. highly recommended.
Hi all... First of all I am not an avid reader. Since I am planning to walk the camino, I felt like I should a read a book on it to learn more about it. So I bought the kindle version of this book. After purchasing, I didn't even bother reading it, for a week or so. But, since I bought this, I thought of giving it a glance...but to my wonder, the book was amazingly gripping and I finished reading the whole book in less than 2 days...

    Publisher's Summary:
For Doug Fiore running for governor was better than death at the mob's hands, if only the sex wouldn't get in the way.
Mob head Sal Tarantino doesn't want big-time casino gambling to become legal in Rhode Island. His solution is to have the next governor comfortably in his pocket, ready to veto the legislation. That means calling in the debts owed to the mob by some of Rhode Island's most prominent politicians, to clear the way for Doug Fiore, managing partner of the state's largest law firm and soon-to-be reluctant gubernatorial candidate.
Sal's plan seems to be going smoothly until the primary draws closer, when Fiore's opponent, a supporter of state-sponsored gambling and the leader in the polls, is gunned down in a bar along with the establishment's bookie-in-residence. The public presumption, driven by columns in the Providence Herald in which Fiore's ties to the family are laid out, is that the Tarantino family had reasons to want them both dead. Things get even stickier when the winner of the Democratic primary is the husband of one of Fiore's law partners--who happens to also be one of his two mistresses. She learns with horror that her husband has a set of secret recordings taken in a hotel room where Fiore has met with both women.
As the race draws to a close, the candidates are in a dead heat. Fiore, who now will stop at nothing to win, devises a scheme with both his mistresses to nail down his victory. The outcome is all in the sex.

There are lies and then there are Damned lies!
What made the experience of listening to My Honorable Brother the most enjoyable?
The reader did a really good job. The story line with all the deception and ethical or unethical acts of "high profile people". Made me wonder if I am not cynical enough in my views of current political players!
What was one of the most memorable moments of My Honorable Brother?
When two of the major female characters conspire to take down the #1 politico in the book.
Have you listened to any of Joe Knezevichs other performances before? How does this one compare?
    No, I haven't
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reaction, but it did make me laugh, because it is a study in human nature of justification of actions when the actions are in direct violation of propaganda the mouth pumps out
    Great listen
Perfect for anyone that likes politics, big law firm intrigue and Mafia interest. Lots of fun and hope author writes another.

Worst book we have listened to
This is a waste of time and money. The plot is ridiculous and the reader is poor.

masterfully executed and magnificently crafted high-speed thriller
The Shiro Project is a masterfully executed and magnificently crafted high-speed thriller filled with intense real world issues and compelling characters. The astounding talent that David Khara has gifted us within the pages of this breathtaking book blew me away. He is an incredibly remarkable author that knows how to captivate and enthrall to the very end. His characters are wonderfully flawed and yet heroes and heroines nonetheless. My heart was utterly obliterated, and that is the mark of a truly fantastic and unforgettable story!
Being able to complete this series was a thrilling privilege to say the least. I canât get over just how insanely amazing David Kharaâs writing is! There are very few authors that even compare. Reading this series was like tasting Heaven and enjoying the best that life can offer. What pure and utter perfection! His characters are truly human in every sense of the word, and I loved because of it. They were always true to themselves and yet still trying to make the world around them better if possible. Life demands a lot of from us, and to experience some small pleasures just for a time is the best that we can ask.
I am very much looking forward to reading more from this wonderful author in the future. Delving deeper into his wildly creative mind is a wonderful blessing. I am up to the challenge for reading so much more! If you are looking for a fantastic new voice in thrillers that is brilliant and yet original, you have to pick up a book by David Khara!
    Love this series!
Oh Shiro Project how much I loved you. For me, The Shiro Project was the continuation of a story that just gets better and better. I received an early release copy from Netgalley but was remiss in my duties to post my review at release because I was a bit burned out on serious material and had to read things outside of my normal favorite genres of Urban Fantasy and Thrillers. Unfortunately, this took more than a few weeks and it would have been unfair to read and review books when I was not in the mood for that type of book. I finished The Shiro Project last night and it held my attention just as The Bleiberg Project did. It was the continuation of Agent Morg's story but what was great was we were given more of Elena's history as well.

When virtually all of the political and military leadership of Pakistan are wiped out by a terrorist attack at the inauguration ceremony of a new president, an international race begins to seize control of the country's vulnerable cache of nuclear weapons.
CIA agent Grant Stearns and the Team Six Navy SEALs are sent on a mission to secure the top-secret Wah nuclear munitions center (near the infamous Osama Bin Laden compound in Abbottabad) and unlock the mysterious Chaklala Codes - the encrypted keys to Pakistan's nuclear weapons - before anyone else gets ahold of them.
Stearns and his team are pitted against a wide array of foes - from the radical jihadist Lakshar-e-Taiba (who were responsible for the deadly attacks on Mumbai India) to a strike force of Iranian Quds Special Forces, all of whom are determined to seize the prize of Pakistan's nuclear weaponry. Working against both a ticking clock and the treachery of the Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency, not to mention the bureaucratic red tape of their own government, Stearns and the SEALS use every resource that they can bring to keep the dangerous nukes out of the hands of America's enemies.
The Chaklala Codes is the second in a series of international political thrillers featuring CIA agent Grant Stearns, an experienced senior agent who is highly prized for his success in dangerous, critical missions but frequently finds himself battling against red tape, political agendas, and corruption, making enemies inside his own government. The Chaklala Codes echoes many of today's headlines about Pakistan, which is not only a haven for radical Islam and its sympathizers inside the intelligence services, but is also a fractured nation with a powerful - and highly vulnerable - arsenal of more than one hundred nuclear weapons.
