The Chinese dragon is flexing its muscles. As its military begins to prey on neighbors in the South China Sea, attacking fishing vessels and scheming to seize natural resources, the US goes on high alert. But a far more ominous danger lurks closer to home: a Chinese sleeper cell has planted a nuclear weapon in the harbor at Norfolk, Virginia, the biggest naval base on the planet. The target: a secret rendezvous of the Atlantic Fleet aircraft carriers and their battle groups. When the CIA director is assassinated and Jake Grafton is appointed to take his place, he gets wind of the conspiracy, but has no idea when or where the attack will occur. In the meantime, a series of assassinations, including an attempt on the life of the President, shake the country and deliberately mask a far more sinister objective. Can Jake Grafton and his right hand man, Tommy Carmellini, stop the plot to destroy the US Navy?

It does give a good history of the various versions of the book and ...
It's hard to figure out which part of this is the actual writing and which is a narrative about the writing. It also goes into a lot of Chines Dynasty history that I wasn't too interested in delving as deep as it got. It does give a good history of the various versions of the book and who may or may not have written it.
    Great book.
    To defeat your neighbor (LOL)
    Proof of Chinese wisdom.
The true art will be not to have wars at all.
    Five Stars
Great read and commentary on the classic war strategy book that offers advice applicable to any facet of life.
    Boldface type makes it work
This is the only copy of the art of war that I've come across which provides the original text in boldface type so that you can read it that having to wait three pages and pages of commentary .
    Five Stars
I would enjoy a modern treatise of this book

Is there anything you would change about this book?
It was a bit too long. It really could have ended much sooner.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
    Glad it was over.
Have you listened to any of R. C. Brays other performances before? How does this one compare?
I love R.C. Bray! He was the reason I got this book.
Did Keep Calm inspire you to do anything?
    Absolutely nothing
    Riveting
Bought it for a road trip, and I didn't want to get out of the car!
Great Read, Builds Start To Finish
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book. Well written with a modern, feasible, albeit a bit far fetched but enjoyable plot. Kept my interest throughout. Of course as usual I really enjoyed R.C. Bray's narration. Masterful.
This title needs Scott Brick narration
What did you like best about Keep Calm? What did you like least?
The performance by R. C. Bray really brings down this good, exciting story. His monotone delivery really distracts from the story.
What did you like best about this story?
    Well written very poorly narrated.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of R. C. Bray?
    Scott Brick

A Real Action Hero With Flaws And Limits
A well thought out and written story that could be plugged into out current world.
The story has corrupt power hungry politicians, good guys, good guys with agendas, flirts who work the come on game, exgirlfriend, a few really good guys, along with some rotten to the core bad guys,
One thing I got tired of was the constant telling of the time element reference throughout the book, I inderstand why the author used it, but I thought it got old and repeatitive after a while.
All in all the book uses drone strikes, massive electrical grid failure, mass destruction of people, electronics , the American Life....and it is well worth the credit, Oh yea did I mention steamy sex well it's in there too

    Good story, Narrator needs work
I enjoyed the story very much, it was better than I anticipated for a first time author. He kept the story moving and for the most part, believable. I found the narrator distracting. He tends to read the book instead of tell the story. If you have listened to as many audible books as I have, I assure you there is a difference. Also, he has a hiss with every word that began with a S, which drove me crazy. He definitely needs to work on his craft. However, it was not enough of an annoyance, for me to not enjoy the story line. I look forward to the author's next book. I expect he will get even better with experience.
    Riveting
This is Workmans first novel and what a start it is. Gordon McAllisters code name is ZEBRA; he is the leader of a team of elite assassins who report only to the President of the United States.
Workman is a great storyteller. The plot has many twists and turns, the suspense is palatable. The pace is fast, the book kept me on the edge of my seat to the end. Workman has developed his characters in a realistic manner. I am amazed at the quality of the writing and story for a first novel. I hope Workman will be able to continue the quality with his future books. Steve Williams did a good job narrating the book.
    Good Story/Mediocre Narrator
For a first book Workman does a credible job with the story of another covert agent who works directly for the President. It starts out with a real bang but then hits some speed bumps that leave one to wonder what just happened. As with many of the authors who write in this genre the end seems rushed and almost to easy considering all that happened before.
I scored it down as the narrator Steve Williams reads in a monotone that does not due justice to the events in the novel and his range of voices for the various characters is to limited. In other hands it would be a better listen.
    Amateur writing, worse narration
Despite dissing this book, I do hope David Workman will try again. I think he has some good ideas and could develop into a decent author.
The narration severely detracts from the story. Williams' voice is tight and high; his attempts to give differentiation to characters fade away immediately then never reappear. The only voice he does decently is a woman's, but they all sound the same. He misplaces emphases and totally misses opportunities to add emphasis for effect; his phrasing is off almost all the time; the intonations and flow are just wrong.
The main problems in the story are:
    1) insufficient character development.

    Another good one
    Good, solid, well written story.
Once again Abe Talley and his Echo 6 boys are tasked with another impossible mission. Good God. If they got something that was a cakewalk they'd all probably keel over.
This one included nuclear warheads on the Trans Siberian Express, the North Koreans, Chechen rebels, Russian Mafioso and a cold as hell Siberian landscape.
This story starts off with the rescue of five Taliban prisoners. These guys are all but dead when Talley and the boys pull off the rescue.
One of them is a Native American,an Apache. He's a Lt. in the USMC. Right after the rescue he tells Talley that he will help him when the time comes. Talley has no idea what the Indian is talking about and how true his words will be.
This is one rollercoaster of a ride and Talley will have to deal with the kidnapping of his sons in America. The loss of many of his men and his own wish for revenge on one Col. Ho.
Just a great read and I'm waiting for #5.
    Five stars and then some.
Can't put it down no commercials
As relatively new to Eric Meyer (I've read a few of his books) his writing is always surprising, moves so fast I'm afraid I'll miss something if I put the book down. This has caused me to stay up to late because I'm sure I'll miss something. The characters are always interesting and they fit the story line just as they should. I'm reading another now and plan on reading as many as he writes.
    Five Stars
This is one of the best books that I have read written by Eric Meyer.
I have bought so many of his boots in the last few months that deal with Spec Ops teams and love them all
ERIC MEYER Rocks. I have bought so many of his boots in the last few months that deal with Spec Ops teams and love them all. Keep writing them and I will keep buying them.
Latest in the Echo Six series. Great.
A sprawling battle across Siberia and into North Korea. Echo Six 4 is a worthy sequel to the previous books in the series, with more than enough action and thrills to make you lose sleep reading it. Great stuff.

A Quick Review of Bloody Truth
Davis is an interesting author, with the ability to write a tight, easy flowing novel with a credible plot. His forte is character development, his people are believable. Set in Europe, this is a high tech spy novel that does NOT rely on endless, mindless violence as a substitute for a well developed plot.
I have read both his Granger novels available on Kindle, and my observations would hold true for his other novel also. I look forward to reading more from this author, his novels are money well spent. A great read!
    Donât bother
Ok, what do you expect for a discount price on Amazon?
I forced myself to read through to the end. This is awful. There should have been a warning label on the front. âDonât buy this work. Unless youâre a shallow immature 13 yr old jr high school drop outâ
    I only spent 99 cents , but I think I spent $3 too much.
    Adrenaline Rush Time
Bloody Truth, the next installment in the Granger Spy Novel series by John J. Davis is a thrill readers dream. The action will keep you turning the page and wanting more. The pace of the novel is very fast and there isnât much down time. Ron, Val & Leecy are part of a team tracking down hackers trying to destroy Americaâs financial stability. Will they save the day; one will have to read to find out.
Johnâs characters on both sides are quiet an interesting mix; they all play their roles, to make the novel a very enjoyable read. We all remember there is no âIâ in TEAM from our school days, John puts a lone wolf into the cast of characters, which just adds another wrinkle in this well paced novel. The plot twist and turns will keep you guessing and when you think you have the novel figured out, right turn please, John will take you in a direction you didnât expect.
If you enjoyed the first Granger Spy Novel, you will not be disappointedâ.
    Loved It
Kept me enthralled the whole time, but kept the human element in it. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 3rd installment. I like the spy family angle, and if done properly these should make excellent movies.
    Fast paced and entertaining
This book is well written and captured my attention from start to finish. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a book that is hard to put down. Will definitely read the other books in the series!

And also how fragile our societies infrastructure are in the modern western world.

Not the best book in the series but not the worst either! Very OK!

    Just Average
While, for me, there were a few very good page turning areas in the book it was not of consistent interest. I hated the ending. Some areas bogged down or appeared disjointed or presented in a sequence I found frustrating. Some characters were well developed while others seemed left to our imagination.
Emily Sutton-Smith performance was outstanding and the only reason I finished the book
Good mystery but too preachy at times
Easy to get into with good reader. But there are long passages where it felt that the author is preaching.
    ehhhh
Too much heavy handed preaching , not enough stoey. amd the story is good, especially in some places, but not great. disappointed. ..

Seemed short story. Not enough suspense. Seemed like end was let's get this over and the two lines were not connected.
    Just ok
Not the best of the series but ok. Disappointed on how the ending was rushed.
Will try the next book- hopefully it will be better.
The story line was fine otherwise.
    Not quite there.
Great pacing and imagination.Weak follow through in many of the subplots. While I appreciate the story telling,I'm going back to Rollins.
Seven Cities of Gold (The Relic Hunters Book 3)
