Arthur Works Her Magic Yet Again!!!

Keri Arthur has done it again! It never ceases to amaze me how much she can do with her words. With her hands she fashions these characters, living remarkable lives with supernatural elements who still seem relatable and humanly flawed. Her plots are out of this world and the one for the book is as usual incredibly unconventional and intricate. But she's never repetitive. If you've ever read a book by Keri Arthur and loved it, read everything she's written. Not only will you not be disappointed but you won't be bored or feel as if you're reading the same thing over and over. If you're a fan of the supernatural, every book Keri Arthur has written is a must have.

Greater writter but book has obligatory sex scenes

I like Keri Arthur's stories except for the sex scenes every 50 to 100 pages. Her older books like Memory Zero, Generation 18, and Penumbra were really great books, well written, interesting, and without the obligatory sex scenes.

A great new series from an excellent author.

I received this audio book free from the author for an honest review.

This book was amazing. I haven't listen to a lot of audiobooks before but this one is excellent. Some of the others have a narrator that doesn't have any emotion. This guy made me believe he was reading the characters and enjoying it. It was refreshing to hear. I will recommend this to people I know who like mysteries with a touch of the supernatural.

Pretty Good Story

I enjoyed the story and the slow romance though that was not the main topic. I did have trouble understanding how these two seemed a little slow on the up take of the investigation. I understand it was their first case but how naive can one be when the studied for 10 years.

They are legal magic users trained by the coalition to up hold the magic laws. For which they are trained from teenagers. To me they still seemed too young to be on assignment together. One would think the coalition would assign a rookie and expert together on first assignments. Both of characters stumble their way threw the investigation and cut many cuts and bruises as a result.

This book reads more like a historical, even though it isn't. It's a murder mystery and a romance where the characters can use magic, but magic is not really the focus of the book. The characters have believable interactions. I liked that Taya didn't just fall into Mandirs arms and that Mandir really had to work to redeem himself. I liked that I could listen to it in front of my kids, except for the ONE explicit scene at the end, which I had to skip through. The book has good pacing and a hopeful end. I was left feeling an appreciation for ancient civilizations. I don't normally like mysteries but I've liked everything that this author has written so far.

Where does My Honorable Highlander rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

This book ranks as the 3rd best book among the ones i've listened to so far and definitely a book that i'll keep reading in on after i write this review

What did you like best about this story?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book because of its intriguing storyline and how the book is told through Nancy Lee Badger's point of view kept me in the loop the whole time while reading. An Unique experience overall with love and how the book changed direction throughout and not keeping it one dimensional.

Which scene was your favorite?

Well the scenes which involved Haven because she was always the person that even though could find herself in the wrong end at times could get herself out of it and is also a very great helper at that of others.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't necessarily get an extreme reaction to the book. I was very hooked from the start and reading throughout it brought me close to main characters story and help me understood them a lot as i got deeper into each chapter. It did go back and forth every now and then and threw me off a bit but i'm glad it did because it kept it from being a narrow type of book

My Thoughts: Haven Mackay is NOT your ordinary heroine. Shes a bit quirky and more often than not she trips and falls. Aye, shes a bit clumsy and shed be the first to tell you. And she pretty much says what she thinks and she doesnt appear to think much before she speaks. Some readers would like to see their heroine strong, intelligent, brave, etc. On the upside, shes compassionate to all injured or ill, extremely forgiving and quite the fighter. But I didnt tell you this. Shes one lovable heroine.

This Heroine Is A Bad Ass In The Making.

The basis of this book was fascinating, but it did not live up to its full potential. Initially, I was not impressed with the squeamishness of the heroine, and her view of herself (she has scars). In addition, I was turned off by the Heroines name. I really saw her more as a Claire rather than an Amy.

Amys is bit of a recluse and illustrator for graphic. She has a vivid imagination which has helped her novels. Yet, Amy has been plagued with nightmares of being in hell. She thinks this is partially because of her father and mother dying in a car crash. It is not clear why she had the nightmares, but she also dreams of a white tiger. Those dreams (white tiger) are pleasant.

She has only one friend, who convinces her that they should visit a traveling carnival. Yet, the minute they get there, her friend acts weirdly. I really dislike passive heroines. Amy seems to accept everything that happens to herbecause she is ugly.Amy is lost for hours and loses track of time. When she wanders into a tent with a carousel of exotic animal statues she climbs on the tiger. (SMH).

The carousel spins and Amy holds on for her life. She wakes the next morning in bed with the man of her dreams (Roric) and has sex with him, thinking this is a dream (Im still SMH). When her friend (whose really a demon working for Hades) insults her, she takes it. I was ready to throw in the towel and sayno more.

But then demons come on the scene and attack her and Roric! Amy takes a splitting maul and decapitates a demon. She really starts standing up for herself. In fact, she makes some decisions that I would have been quivering over. Because she illustrates graphic novels, she has gone to Comic Cons! Who, I ask, can go to a Comic Con and not sword fight????!!!! So there! In addition to a splitting maul, our heroine ends up with a sword. She totally kicks ass. Roric is no snowflake himself.

Alpha Awakened by Payne Hawthorne, is not like any other book I've read. It's an original story with strong, independent characters.

This was my first time listening to Joshua Story. I enjoyed his voice/s, which surprised me, because I usually steer clear of audio books, as the one's I've previously heard were less than impressive. This one was fantastic, and I guess that has a lot to do with the fact that I loved this story.

I enjoyed the story immensely, it's paranormal/shifter/werewolf genre.

I loved the scenes between Jacob and Allison and especially their first meeting and conversation on the plane, it was funny, interesting and there was a lot of sexual tension.

I couldn't wait for them to finally 'do it'.

Good book

STORY REVIEW.......

The Six Train to Wisconsin is an amazing debut that offers mystery/suspense, paranormal, romance, and humor all in one package. The author's writing style is vivid, electric and engaging. The novel was a page-turner for me from the start. The characters feel alive and the dialogue I would recommend this novel to everyone who enjoys a good read.

slow start

Took a long time to set the scene - almost gave up on the book but the last part was very intense. Narrator was good.

Six Train

This was a great read.Only Oliver can save his wife from her thoughts and everyone elses thoughts.She is a telepath on the verge of destruction.Kourtney Heintz brings Kai to life in this first book in a series.I enjoyed it.I was given this book free of charge for an honest review.

Excellent story line with a twist

Hard to imagine how a telepath of Kai's ability could have survived in NYC for any length of time but with Oliver's help she did.

When Kai's emotions start spinning out of control Oliver kidnaps Kai and takes her to his hometown of Butternut, Wisconsin. Now the real story begins. There are secrets in this small town that threaten to destroy everything. Oliver and Kai need to solve the mysteries before it is too late.

Christa Lewis brought all the characters to life and I really enjoyed her reading of this book.

Overall I really enjoyed the story of Kai and Oliver. I was however a little disappointed with the ending. Even though this is a series and the story will continue we were left with too many unanswered questions.

I was gifted this book by AudioBlast for an unbiased review.

In this book, we have Kai, who is a telepath. Kai isn't just a telepath, she's a telepath that lives in NYC!! And then there's the lovely Oliver, Kai's husband, who is starting to get more than he bargained for.

In this paranormal romance, we get to take a journey to see just how far love reaches. It is a very sweet book of love, while becoming a thriller at the same time. Both the narration and writing of this book are well done. I give this 4 STARS.

This is a review of the audiothe narration was excellent and kept my attention throughout. If paranormal time travel romance is one of your favorite genres, then Lady X by Claudy Conn is for you. This book grabbed my attention from the beginning. Lady X (Exerilla) is a white witch who has to travel back in time to get away from her father and his questionable choice of a husband for her. She then meets an array of interesting characters. Some of which are cool and others that are not. Lady X then meets Lord Hunter. I liked how these two characters interacted and became very likeable to the reader. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it and know you won't be disappointed reading it.

Sexy take on Hell and Office Politics

Josh is a smoking hot dark angel. His job is to make sure that he gets the souls of those that are on the edge of taking their own lives. Josh is suddenly embroiled in office politics when there is a new director of the underworld that doesnt seem to like him. Peter, the director, has his own agenda and Josh is in his way. Peter wants Melanie and he wants to test Josh by having him get her. What happens when there is office drama and red tape in hell? Will the Underworld get a new soul? This is the second book in The Guardians, I did not listen to the first and didnt feel like I had missed anything about Josh. A quick note about the narrator, JD Hart, I normally dont go for men narrators due to range of voices, but boy can this one put the old world sexy into Joshs voice.

exciting, sexy, unexpected

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't like Josh in the first book, but he grew on me in this book, by the middle of the book, he burrowed himself in my heart. He is my book boyfriend now :D

Which character as performed by J. D. Hart was your favorite?

I think JD's performance of all the characters makes hard to choose, but Josh will have to be my fave, and Audrey as a close second.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love always wins, even in the Underworld!

A very different prospective in the angel genre. Just as with book one of the series, listening to the audio made a big difference for me from reading it myself. I totally recommend it to even the most picky listeners, I am one too.

Never disappoints

Where does Underworld Lover rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

The duo Sharon Hamilton and J D Hart never Disappoints, for sure. I have all but maybe two or three of Sharon Hamilton's Audios and I love her writings! This story was awesome, new concept from any I have read before and kept my interest. Then you have J D Hart's Voice. What can I say, awesome sultry, sexy. You will love this one too!
