This Disco Classics entry in the Diva Hall of Fame series (2014) is a tribute mix built around Donna Summer’s Casablanca-era work, assembled as a long-form dance set for listeners who love extended disco moments and vinyl-era singles. The mix gathers signature extended versions and special edits — I Feel Love, Bad Girls, Hot Stuff, Last Dance and a MacArthur Park Suite — alongside collaborative turns with Brooklyn Dreams and a duet appearance with Barbra Streisand. Late-era club treatments like Jandry’s Neon Sign Remix and a Hot Tracks remix help bridge the original arrangements to the dancefloor without losing the songs’ dramatic sweep.

Interwoven with the tracklist is a personal narrative about finding refuge in music: working in a record shop, early encounters with Stonewall-era headlines, and Donna’s records as the soundtrack to coming-of-age moments. The set plays like both a DJ-friendly disco journey and a decades-long love letter to the Queen of Disco, assembled for fans who appreciate extended mixes, 12" singles, and thoughtful sequencing.

Electro and deep-house remixes meet the Diva Hall of Fame in this 2014 tribute to Lana Del Rey, reworking her cinematic originals for club and late-night listening. This episode collects atmospheric takes across minimal, deep house, and dubstep to show how Lana’s low register and literate lyrics translate into electronic contexts.

Highlights include Gemini’s take on “Born to Die,” Photek’s version of “Ride,” Parov Stelar’s reimagining of “Dark Paradise,” and MK’s spin on “West Coast,” alongside Penguin Prison’s “Blue Velvet” remix and Hook N Sling’s approach to “Ultraviolence.” The set favors remixes that emphasize mood and narrative over straight pop edits, illustrating why Lana’s songwriting adapts well to reinterpretation. Whether you came for the lyrics or the basslines, this mix frames Lana as a modern diva whose melancholic themes and vintage glamour sit naturally in electronic production.
