The allure of the Pet Shop Boys is eternal; it’s a fact I was vividly reminded of during a laid-back evening with Rick, my other half and the ultimate 'pethead' among us. He was stirring up something magical in the kitchen while I queued up a ...

From emotionally stirring ballads to ethereal, atmospheric sounds, Sarah McLachlan's body of work is as diverse as it is hauntingly beautiful. Yet, few would have suspected that this Canadian singer-songwriter, often associated with heart-wrench...

This Diva Hall of Fame entry is a Cool Down Mix of Madonna material from 2008, assembled as a chill, genre-spanning set of house, urban, trip-hop, and electronic reinterpretations. Created originally for a 50th birthday benefit, the mix collects extended club versions and downtempo remixes to spotlight the producers and DJs who reshaped Madonna’s catalog for the dancefloor and late-night listening.

Highlights include club edits and signature remixes such as Vogue (12"), Like a Prayer (12" Dance Mix), Deeper and Deeper (Shep’s Classic 12"), Bedtime Story (Junior’s Wet Dream Mix), American Life (Oakenfold Downtempo Remix), Get Together (Jacques Lu Cont Mix) and Groove Armada’s take on Music. The set moves from classic house to more experimental textures — even nods toward early dubstep and trip-hop — showing why Madonna consistently surrounds herself with adventurous remix talent.

Originally a pair of handmade CDs created for a friend, this two-hour mix is presented here as a curated cooldown companion to the longer Meltdown Mix that follows on the site.

House and deep house mixes celebrate Everything But The Girl in this 2007 Diva Hall of Fame episode, tracing the duo’s leap from indie-jazz pop into dance-floor life. The set collects remixes and reworks that reframed Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt for club audiences, highlighting the remix-driven moment that made “Missing” a crossover touchstone.

Expect late-night, groove-forward treatments rather than peak-time bombast. Highlights include Ben Watt’s Summer Storm take on “Lullaby Of Clubland,” twin-era club treatments of “Missing,” Kevin Yost’s Everything & A Groove mix of “Five Fathoms,” Deep Dish’s extended rework of “The Future Of The Future (Stay Gold),” plus reinterpretations by Ralphi Rosario and King Britt. These versions underline EBTG’s rare versatility: songs rooted in melancholy and melody that translate naturally into thoughtful, danceable arrangements.

Running just under 80 minutes, the episode surveys club-friendly remixes from the duo’s catalog and makes a quiet case for why Thorn and Watt have long mattered to both listeners and DJs.
