I compiled a 10 year history of the return on capital employed for all of the dividend aristocrats and found correlations between the data and long term total returns. In November of last year I launched my 4 factor dividend growth portfolio built on a modified SCHD stock selection process. The portfolio got off to a nice start, outpacing the S&P 500 by 7.66% in November. Since then the performance has cooled off a little but overall the dividend growth portfolio is very well. It is outperforming the S&P 500 index during the last 7 months and delivering better returns than I expected. Is today a good time to buy more SCHD? The dividend growth ETF is down 6.25% year to date while the S&P 500 is up nearly 10% and QQQ the information technology ETF is up more than 27%.
