  • #101 WINNER of the Ouray 100 // Anthony Lee
I’ve got a young up and comer on the show this week. Anthony Lee is out crushing big mountain races and I had to get him on the show to hear how he does it. He ran three 100’s this year and he won two of them, including his A race for the year, Ouray 100. He was the 3rd fastest person to run this beast of a race! He’s only 27 years old and he’s just finding his rhythm when it comes to ultramarathons. He’s getting faster and having more success and if you’re into ultra, this is a guy you’re going to want to keep your eye on.

  • #100 FACILITATE YOUR OWN HEALING with Spaceman Samson Luce
Alright, here it is.  Episode #100 of the DO BIG THINGS podcast.  If you’re new here, I try and find exciting guests that are doing BIG THINGS with their lives and have a story or some wisdom to share.  I’m pretty pumped about this weeks episode, however...disclaimer...if you’re looking for a podcast about running, this week’s episode is probably not for you.  The majority of my podcasts are me chatting with ultrarunners who are out there, pushing the boundaries and figuring out who they are on a deep level.  Spaceman Samson is the man that inspired me to begin on this podcast journey about a year and a half ago.  So, I thought it would be fitting to bring him back on for episode 100.  He’s always got a lot of wisdom to share and let me tell you, this episode is about as woo as it gets.  Samson is a certified reiki healer, he’s an artist and he’s just an overall wise young man.  In a lot of ways, I look at this guy as one of my teachers.  He calls me sensei and I call him teacher.  So with that, let’s just jump right in.  Give it up for my man, Spaceman Samson!

  • #99 Midwest Ultra Legend // Matt Bartz
You better believe I’ve got another inspiring guest for you today!  I used to see him at all the races in the Midwest, and I’ve seen him at races out here in Colorado as well.  His name is Matt Bartz and most recently, he ran the Superior 100 and set a personal record for himself.  Then, just a week later, he went out and experienced the Barkley Fall Classic and of course, he finished that race as well.  Of course, he’s another one of those humble guys that you practically have to beg to come on the show.  He’s run over 70 ultramarathons and he’s super passionate about what he does.  Give it up, for my man, Matt Bartz!

  • #98 YOUNGEST WOMAN EVER TO WIN THE LEADVILLE 100 // Annie Hughes
I’ve got a stellar guest for you guys today!  She is the youngest woman ever to win the Leadville 100.  Annie Hughes is 23 years old and coming up in the sport faster than greased lightning.  She’s fun, she’s bubbly and she was a blast to talk to.  She’s been on the show before, you can check out more of her history on episode #38.  She’s been tearing up the scene this year and her year isn’t over yet.  As you’ll here in our conversation, she’s getting ready for the Moab 240 and she’s got even bigger plans for the upcoming years.  You can find her on Instagram as @outdoorable_annie which is the most fitting IG handle of anyone ever!  I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.

  • #97 The GRAND SLAM of Ultrarunning // Gina Fioroni
My guest this week is certainly an inspiration! Gina Fioroni is one of those badass ultrarunning chicks that you see out running races nearly every weekend. This year, she decided to take on the Grand Slam of ultrarunning. Typically, that means running four of the oldest 100 milers in the country in one year. At the time of this interview, Gina had run 3 of the 4 hundred milers and since this interview, she has completed the Grand Slam and is officially a Slammer! Please, take a moment to give her a congrats, it’s a huge accomplishment! I was at the finish line of the Leadville 100 and when I saw her finish, it wasn’t exactly the best condition I’d seen Gina in. She had a major case of the “ultra lean” going on and she was right up against the 30-hour cutoff. Find out why a seasoned veteran like Gina was at the back of the pack. Better yet, listen to Gina and her incredible story of dogged persistence at this year’s Grand Slam of ultrarunning.

  • #96 Leadville 100 7th Place Finisher // Hannes Gehring
My guest this week, Hannes Gehring's mountain fitness is something I really aspire to. He’s been on the show before, he was on episode 40 and it was right after he completed Nolan’s 14. Shortly after that, he was battling injuries and not doing much running. It’s been fun watching him overcome his obstacles and come back to earn a 7th place finish at Leadville this year. Pay attention to this guy, he’s a special person and I don’t think this is the last we’ll here of him.

  • #95 WINNER of the 2021 LEADVILLE 100 // Adrian Macdonald
A couple of weeks ago, we were out at the Leadville 100, pacing and crewing. I was at the Twin Lakes aid station when I saw Adrian Macdonald coming through in first place, making it look as easy as a Sunday stroll. I knew I had to talk to him. When I found out he lives in Fort Collins, I wanted to talk to him even more. That’s just down the road from me. You see, this was Adrian’s first Leadville and first hundred miler altogether. And he won! Convincingly! In fact, only 4 people have ever run that course faster than him. How is that possible? We get into it all.  Thanks for listening!

  • #94 Highest Hundred FKT with Andrew Hamilton and Andrea Sansone
This week, we’ve got a SUPER inspiring episode.  These guys epitomize our DO BIG THINGS slogan.  Andrew Hamilton and his partner Andrea Sansone are on the show this week, talking about Andrew’s latest adventure.  He just set the Fastest Known Time doing the Colorado Centennial’s, which is the one-hundred highest peaks of Colorado.  He did it in a mind bending 22 days!  Andrea was there crewing and pacing him for the entire duration.  Now in my circle, Andrew is known as the Godfather of Nolan’s 14 or the King of the Colorado 14ers.  I guess I just assumed that when these guys plan out an adventure to tackle, it goes smooth and there are no mistakes or accidents because they’ve done this stuff so many times.  But much to my surprise, things don’t always go as planned.  Even the best of the best run into hiccups and problems.  Thankfully, for us, they dish it all out.  I could listen to these guys talk all night.  I’m so happy they came on the show and I know you are going to dig this as much as I did!

  • #93 Straight up MOM GRIT with Katie Asmuth
I’ve got a really cool guest for you guys this week! She’s a wife, a mom, she’s got a full time job and she managed to get 5th place at the prestigious Western States 100 this year. Over the last couple of years, her name has been coming up more and more in the ultra-scene with big wins at the Bandera 100k, Zion 100 and Bear 100. She’s a bubbly athlete with a high stoke level and you’re going to want to keep an eye on her in the upcoming years. I had a lot of fun talking to her and I think you’re going to find some inspiration in this conversation!

  • #92 SILVERHEELS 100 Finisher // Drew Ralston
My guest today is a great guy and I had the pleasure of pacing him 48 miles of his race, the Silverheels 100, here in Colorado. It’s a tough, tough course but we made it. We did it with each other. Maybe my guy Drew Ralston could have done it himself without a pacer but we chose to partner up to better his chances at getting him into the finish. I had a blast chasing him around the mountains for a lot of hours. Drew is about as tough as they come and we’re lucky to have him on the show this week.
